Deuteronomy 29

1(28-69) These are the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.
1นี่คือถ้อยคำแห่งพันธสัญญาที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสให้ทำกับชาวอิสราเอลในแผ่นดินโมอับ นอกเหนือจากพันธสัญญาที่พระองค์ทรงทำกับพวกเขาที่โฮเรบ
2(29-1) And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them: Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
2โมเสสเรียกอิสราเอลทั้งหมดมาและกล่าวว่า “พวกคุณเห็นด้วยตาของตนเองแล้วว่าพระยาห์เวห์ทรงทำอะไรในแผ่นดินอียิปต์ต่อฟาโรห์ ข้าราชการทั้งหมดของเขา และทั่วทั้งแผ่นดิน
3(29-2) the great trials which thine eyes saw, the signs and those great wonders;
3พวกคุณเห็นบททดสอบครั้งใหญ่ หมายสำคัญ และการอัศจรรย์ยิ่งใหญ่เหล่านั้นกับตา
4(29-3) but the LORD hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
4แต่จนถึงวันนี้ พระยาห์เวห์ยังไม่ได้ประทานใจที่เข้าใจ ตาที่มองเห็น และหูที่ได้ยินแก่พวกคุณ
5(29-4) And I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
5เราได้นำพวกคุณตลอดสี่สิบปีในถิ่นทุรกันดาร เสื้อผ้าที่พวกคุณสวมไม่สึกเก่า และรองเท้าที่สวมอยู่ก็ไม่สึกเก่า
6(29-5) Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink; that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.
6พวกคุณไม่ได้กินขนมปัง ไม่ได้ดื่มเหล้าองุ่นหรือเครื่องดื่มมึนเมา เพื่อพวกคุณจะได้รู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ
7(29-6) And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them.
7เมื่อพวกคุณมาถึงที่แห่งนี้ สิโหนกษัตริย์แห่งเฮชโบนกับโอกกษัตริย์แห่งบาชานยกออกมารบกับเรา และเราตีพวกเขา
8(29-7) And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.
8เราเข้ายึดแผ่นดินของพวกเขาและมอบเป็นมรดกแก่คนรูเบน คนกาด และครึ่งเผ่ามนัสเสห์
9(29-8) Observe therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may make all that ye do to prosper.
9เพราะฉะนั้น จงรักษาถ้อยคำแห่งพันธสัญญานี้และทำตาม เพื่อพวกคุณจะเจริญรุ่งเรืองในทุกสิ่งที่ทำ
10(29-9) Ye are standing this day all of you before the LORD your God: your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,
10วันนี้พวกคุณทุกคนยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ทั้งผู้นำ เผ่าต่าง ๆ พวกผู้ใหญ่ เจ้าหน้าที่ และชายอิสราเอลทั้งหมด
11(29-10) your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in the midst of thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water;
11ทั้งเด็กเล็ก ภรรยา และคนต่างถิ่นที่อยู่ท่ามกลางค่าย ตั้งแต่คนผ่าฟืนจนถึงคนตักน้ำ
12(29-11) that thou shouldest enter into the covenant of the LORD thy God — and into His oath — which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day;
12เพื่อพวกคุณจะเข้าสู่พันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณและคำปฏิญาณของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงทำกับพวกคุณในวันนี้
13(29-12) that He may establish thee this day unto Himself for a people, and that He may be unto thee a God, as He spoke unto thee, and as He swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
13เพื่อวันนี้พระองค์จะทรงตั้งพวกคุณไว้เป็นประชากรของพระองค์ และพระองค์จะทรงเป็นพระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ตามที่ตรัสไว้และตามที่ทรงปฏิญาณต่อบรรพบุรุษ คืออับราฮัม อิสอัค และยาโคบ
14(29-13) Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
14ผมไม่ได้ทำพันธสัญญาและคำปฏิญาณนี้กับพวกคุณเท่านั้น
15(29-14) but with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day —
15แต่ทำกับผู้ที่ยืนอยู่กับเราที่นี่ในวันนี้ต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเรา และกับผู้ที่ไม่ได้อยู่กับเราที่นี่ในวันนี้ด้วย
16(29-15) for ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the midst of the nations through which ye passed;
16เพราะพวกคุณรู้ว่าเราอาศัยอยู่ในแผ่นดินอียิปต์อย่างไร และเราเดินผ่านชนชาติต่าง ๆ ที่พวกคุณผ่านมาอย่างไร
17(29-16) and ye have seen their detestable things, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were with them —
17และพวกคุณเห็นสิ่งน่าสะอิดสะเอียนกับรูปเคารพของพวกเขา ซึ่งทำจากไม้ หิน เงิน และทอง และอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกเขา
18(29-17) lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
18ระวังอย่าให้มีชาย หญิง ครอบครัว หรือเผ่าใดในหมู่พวกคุณที่วันนี้หันใจออกจากพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเรา ไปปรนนิบัติพระของชนชาติเหล่านั้น และอย่าให้มีรากใดในหมู่พวกคุณที่ออกผลขมและมีพิษ
19(29-18) and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying: 'I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart — that the watered be swept away with the dry';
19ถ้าคนเช่นนั้นได้ยินถ้อยคำแห่งคำสาปนี้แล้วกลับอวยพรตัวเองในใจว่า ‘ฉันจะอยู่อย่างสงบ แม้จะเดินตามใจดื้อรั้นของตัวเอง’ ทั้งที่ชุ่มน้ำและที่แห้งแล้งก็จะพินาศไปด้วยกัน
20(29-19) the LORD will not be willing to pardon him, but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall be kindled against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven;
20พระยาห์เวห์จะไม่ทรงให้อภัยเขา แต่ความกริ้วและความหวงแหนของพระยาห์เวห์จะลุกคุกรุ่นเป็นควันต่อคนนั้น คำสาปทั้งหมดที่เขียนไว้ในหนังสือนี้จะตกอยู่กับเขา และพระยาห์เวห์จะทรงลบชื่อของเขาออกจากใต้ฟ้า
21(29-20) and the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.
21พระยาห์เวห์จะทรงแยกเขาออกจากทุกเผ่าของอิสราเอลให้รับภัย ตามคำสาปแห่งพันธสัญญาทั้งหมดที่เขียนไว้ในหนังสือธรรมบัญญัตินี้
22(29-21) And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith the LORD hath made it sick;
22คนรุ่นต่อมา คือ ลูกหลานที่จะเกิดภายหลัง และคนต่างชาติที่มาจากแดนไกล จะเห็นภัยพิบัติของแผ่นดินและโรคที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงทำให้เกิดขึ้น
23(29-22) and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in His anger, and in His wrath;
23พวกเขาจะเห็นว่าทั่วทั้งแผ่นดินเต็มไปด้วยกำมะถันและเกลือ ถูกเผาไหม้ ไม่มีการหว่าน ไม่มีผลผลิต และไม่มีหญ้าใดงอกขึ้น เหมือนเมืองโสโดม โกโมราห์ อัดมาห์ และเศโบยิมที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงคว่ำทำลายด้วยความกริ้วและความเดือดดาล
24(29-23) even all the nations shall say 'Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?'
24แล้วชนชาติทั้งปวงจะถามว่า ‘ทำไมพระยาห์เวห์จึงทรงทำเช่นนี้กับแผ่นดินนี้? ความกริ้วรุนแรงนี้หมายความว่าอะไร?’
25(29-24) then men shall say: 'Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;
25คนทั้งหลายจะตอบว่า ‘เพราะพวกเขาละทิ้งพันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงทำกับพวกเขาเมื่อทรงพาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์
26(29-25) and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that He had not allotted unto them;
26แล้วไปปรนนิบัติและกราบไหว้พระอื่นที่พวกเขาไม่รู้จัก และที่พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงมอบให้พวกเขา
27(29-26) therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;
27พระยาห์เวห์จึงทรงกริ้วต่อแผ่นดินนี้อย่างรุนแรง และนำคำสาปทั้งหมดที่เขียนไว้ในหนังสือนี้มาสู่แผ่นดิน
28(29-27) and the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day'. —
28พระยาห์เวห์ทรงถอนพวกเขาออกจากแผ่นดินด้วยความกริ้ว ความเดือดดาล และความขุ่นเคืองอย่างยิ่ง แล้วโยนพวกเขาไปยังแผ่นดินอื่น ดังที่เป็นอยู่ทุกวันนี้’
29(29-28) The secret things belong unto the LORD our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
29สิ่งที่ซ่อนเร้นเป็นของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเรา แต่สิ่งที่ทรงเปิดเผยเป็นของเราและลูกหลานตลอดไป เพื่อเราจะทำตามถ้อยคำทั้งหมดของธรรมบัญญัตินี้
