1All the commandment which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.
1จงระมัดระวังทำตามพระบัญชาทั้งหมดที่ผมกำลังสั่งในวันนี้ เพื่อจะมีชีวิต ทวีจำนวน และเข้าไปครอบครองแผ่นดินที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงปฏิญาณไว้กับบรรพบุรุษ
2And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that He might afflict thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep His commandments, or no.
2จงระลึกถึงตลอดเส้นทางที่พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงนำผ่านถิ่นทุรกันดารตลอดสี่สิบปีนี้ พระองค์ทรงทำให้พวกคุณถ่อมตัวและทรงทดสอบ เพื่อจะรู้ว่าในใจมีอะไร และจะรักษาพระบัญชาของพระองค์หรือไม่
3And He afflicted thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that He might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every thing that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
3พระองค์ทรงทำให้พวกคุณถ่อมตัว ปล่อยให้หิว แล้วเลี้ยงด้วยมานาซึ่งทั้งพวกคุณและบรรพบุรุษไม่เคยรู้จัก เพื่อสอนว่ามนุษย์ไม่ได้ดำรงชีวิตด้วยขนมปังเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ดำรงชีวิตด้วยทุกถ้อยคำที่ออกจากปากของพระยาห์เวห์
4Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
4ตลอดสี่สิบปีนี้ เสื้อผ้าที่พวกคุณสวมไม่เก่าเปื่อย และเท้าก็ไม่บวม
5And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
5จงตระหนักไว้ในใจว่า พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณทรงอบรมพวกคุณ เหมือนพ่ออบรมลูกชาย
6And thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in His ways, and to fear Him.
6เพราะฉะนั้น จงรักษาพระบัญชาของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ดำเนินตามทางของพระองค์ และยำเกรงพระองค์
7For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths, springing forth in valleys and hills;
7เพราะพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณกำลังนำเข้าไปในแผ่นดินอันดี เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีลำธาร น้ำพุ และน้ำใต้ดินไหลออกตามหุบเขาและเนินเขา
8a land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig-trees and pomegranates; a land of olive-trees and honey;
8เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีข้าวสาลี ข้าวบาร์เลย์ เถาองุ่น ต้นมะเดื่อ และทับทิม เป็นแผ่นดินที่มีต้นมะกอกและน้ำผึ้ง
9a land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.
9เป็นแผ่นดินที่พวกคุณจะมีอาหารกินโดยไม่ขาดแคลน และจะไม่ขาดสิ่งใด แผ่นดินนั้นมีหินที่มีเหล็กอยู่ และตามเนินเขาสามารถขุดทองแดงได้
10And thou shalt eat and be satisfied, and bless the LORD thy God for the good land which He hath given thee.
10เมื่อกินจนอิ่มแล้ว จงสรรเสริญพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ เพราะแผ่นดินอันดีที่พระองค์ประทานให้
11Beware lest thou forget the LORD thy God, in not keeping His commandments, and His ordinances, and His statutes, which I command thee this day;
11จงระวัง อย่าลืมพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณด้วยการละเลยไม่รักษาพระบัญชา กฎเกณฑ์ และข้อกำหนดของพระองค์ที่ผมกำลังสั่งในวันนี้
12lest when thou hast eaten and art satisfied, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
12เกรงว่าเมื่อกินจนอิ่ม สร้างบ้านดี ๆ และเข้าอยู่อาศัย
13and when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
13เมื่อฝูงโคและฝูงแกะเพิ่มจำนวน เงินและทองเพิ่มพูน และทุกสิ่งที่มีเพิ่มมากขึ้น
14then thy heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;
14ใจของพวกคุณจะหยิ่งผยอง แล้วลืมพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ผู้ทรงพาออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ ที่ซึ่งพวกคุณเป็นทาส
15who led thee through the great and dreadful wilderness, wherein were serpents, fiery serpents, and scorpions, and thirsty ground where was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
15พระองค์ทรงนำผ่านถิ่นทุรกันดารอันกว้างใหญ่และน่ากลัว ที่มีงูพิษและแมงป่อง เป็นดินแดนแห้งแล้งไร้น้ำ และทรงให้น้ำไหลออกจากหินเหล็กไฟเพื่อพวกคุณ
16who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that He might afflict thee, and that He might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
16พระองค์ทรงเลี้ยงด้วยมานาในถิ่นทุรกันดาร ซึ่งบรรพบุรุษของพวกคุณไม่เคยรู้จัก เพื่อทำให้ถ่อมตัวและทดสอบ และเพื่อท้ายที่สุดจะทรงทำดีแก่พวกคุณ
17and thou say in thy heart: 'My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.'
17อย่าคิดในใจว่า ‘กำลังและฝีมือของฉันเองทำให้ฉันได้ความมั่งคั่งนี้มา’
18But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God, for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
18แต่จงระลึกถึงพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ เพราะพระองค์ต่างหากที่ประทานกำลังให้สร้างความมั่งคั่ง เพื่อทรงยืนยันพันธสัญญาที่ทรงปฏิญาณไว้กับบรรพบุรุษ ดังที่เป็นอยู่ในวันนี้
19And it shall be, if thou shalt forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I forewarn you this day that ye shall surely perish.
19ถ้าพวกคุณลืมพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ไปติดตามพระอื่น รับใช้และกราบไหว้พวกมัน วันนี้ผมขอเป็นพยานยืนยันว่า พวกคุณจะต้องพินาศแน่นอน
20As the nations that the LORD maketh to perish before you, so shall ye perish; because ye would not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God.
20เช่นเดียวกับชนชาติต่าง ๆ ที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงทำให้พินาศไปเบื้องหน้าพวกคุณ พวกคุณก็จะพินาศ เพราะไม่ฟังเสียงของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ
