1Behold my eye hath seen all these things, and my ear hath heard them, and I have understood them all.
1Khenah, hae hmuennawk hae ka mik mah hnuk boeh; ka naa mah thaih moe, panoek boeh.
2According to your knowledge I also know: neither am I inferior to you.
3But yet I will speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
3Toe Thacak Sithaw khaeah ka thuih moe, Sithaw hoi angaek hanah ka koeh.
4Having first shewn that you are forgers of lies, and maintainers of perverse opinions.
4Toe nangcae loe amsawnlok thui kami, tidoeh avang ai siboi ah ni na oh o.
5And I wish you would hold your peace, that you might be thought to be wise men.
6Hear ye therefore my reproof, and attend to the judgment of my lips.
6Ka thuih han ih lok to tahngai oh loe, pahni hoiah ka thuih han ih lok hae tahngai oh.
7Hath God any need of your lie, that you should speak deceitfully for him?
7Sithaw kasae na thuih o han maw? Anih to na ling o han maw?
8Do you accept his person, and do you endeavour to judge for God?
8Anih mikhmai maw na khet o han? Sithaw han lok na aek pae o han maw?
9Or shall it please him, from whom nothing can be concealed? or shall he be deceived as a man, with your deceitful dealings?
9Anih mah ang khet o naah hoih, tiah thui tih maw? Kami aling baktiah Sithaw to aling thai maw?
10He shall reprove you, because in secret you accept his person.
10Tamquta hoi mikhmai na khet o nahaeloe, anih mah na thuitaek o tih.
11As soon as he shall move himself, he shall trouble you: and his dread shall fall upon you.
11A lensawkhaih loe nang han zitthok ai maw? Anih zit thohhaih na nuiah krah mak ai maw?
12Your remembrance shall be compared to ashes, and your necks shall be brought to clay.
12Nangcae panoek thaihaih loe maiphu baktiah ni oh, nangcae abuephaih ahmuen doeh long hoiah sak ih abuephaih ah ni oh.
13Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to me.
13Anghngai o duem ah, lok ka thuih han vop; to pacoengah kawbaktih hmuen doeh ka nuiah pha nasoe.
14Why do I tear my flesh with my teeth, and carry my soul in my hands?
14Toe kai loe ka ngan hae kaek moe, ka hinghaih hae ban hoi ka sin han.
15Although he should bill me, I will trust in him: but yet I will reprove my ways in his sight.
15Anih mah kai na hum cadoeh, a nuiah oephaih ka tawn vop tih; a hmaa ah zae loihhaih lok to ka thuih han vop.
16And he shall be my saviour: for no hypocrite shall come before his presence.
16Anih loe kai pahlonghaih ah om tih; amoek kaminawk loe a hmaa ah angzo o mak ai.
17Hear ye my speech, and receive with Sour ears hidden truths.
17Ka lok hae palung tang hoi tahngai oh; ka thuih ih lok hae naa patueng oh.
18If I shall be judged, I know that I shall be found just.
18Khenah, vaihi kaimah kawng taphong hanah ka oh coek, ka zaehaih loih tih boeh, tiah ka panoek.
19Who is he that will plead against me? let him come: why am I consumed holding my peace?
19Mi mah maw kai hae zaehaih net tang tih? To tiah zaehaih na net nahaeloe, lok apae ai ah kang hngai duem moe, ka duek halat han boeh.
20Two things only do not to me, and then from thy face I shall not be hid:
20Hmuen hnetto khue ni kang hnik; nang paek nahaeloe na hmaa hoiah kang hawk ving mak ai.
21Withdraw thy hand far from me, and let not thy dread terrify me.
21Kai khae hoi na ban to azuk ving ah, na zitthohhaih hoiah na pazih hmah.
22Call me, and I will answer thee: or else I will speak, and do thou answer me.
22To pacoengah na kawk ah, kang pathim han; to tih ai boeh loe kai ka thuih hmaloe han, to pacoengah nang mah pathim ah.
23How many are my iniquities and sins? make me know my crimes and offences.
23Ka sakpazaehaih hoi zaehaih nazetto maw oh?
24Why hidest thou thy face, and thinkest me thy enemy?
25Against a leaf, that is carried away with the wind, thou shewest thy power, and thou pursuest a dry straw.
25Takhi mah hmuh ih thingqam to na zit maw? Kangqo thingqam to na patom han maw?
26For thou writest bitter things against me, and wilt consume me for the sins of my youth.
26Kakhaa parai ka zaehaih to na pakuem moe, thendoeng nathuem ah ka sak ih zaehaih atho to vaihi kai han nang tongsak boeh.
27Thou hast put my feet in the stocks, and hast observed all my paths, and hast considered the steps of my feet:
27Ka khok ah thlong nang thuk moe, ka caehhaih loklamnawk boih to na khet; ka cawh ih khokkong doeh na parui boih.
28Who am to be consumed as rottenness, and as a garment that is moth-eaten.
28To tiah raihaih tongh kami loe, kaqong hmuen baktih, karaa mah caak ih laihaw kaprawn baktiah, thazok moe, anghmat zuep boeh.
