1And Eliu continued his discourse, and said:
1Elihu mah,
2Hear ye, wise men, my words, and ye learned, hearken to me:
2nangcae palungha kaminawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh; panoekhaih tawn kaminawk, naa patueng oh.
3For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.
3Pakha mah caaknaek pataengh baktih toengah, naa mah ni lok to khingh.
4Let us choose to us judgment, and let us see among ourselves what is the best.
4Toenghaih to qoi o si; aimacae han kahoih hmuen to panoek o si.
5For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment.
5Job mah, Kai loe ka toeng, ka toenghaih Sithaw mah ang lak pae ving boeh.
6For in judging me there is a lie: my arrow is violent without any sin.
6Kai loe ka toeng, toe amsawnlok thui kami ah ka oh, sakpazaehaih ka tawn ai, toe kahoih thai ai nathaih hoiah ka oh, tiah thuih.
7What man is there like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
7Job hoi anghmong kami mi maw kaom, kasaethuihaih to tui baktih kanae mi maw kaom?
8Who goeth in company with them that work iniquity, and walketh with wicked men?
8Anih loe kahoih ai hmuen sah kaminawk hoiah amyok moe, kasae kaminawk hoiah angkom.
9For he hath said: Man shall not please God, although he run with him.
9Sithaw nuiah anghoehaih mah kami han amekhaih tidoeh paek ai, tiah Job mah thuih.
10Therefore, ye men of understanding, hear me: far from god be wickedness, and iniquity from the Almighty.
10To pongah panoekhaih tawn kaminawk, ka lok hae tahngai oh; Sithaw loe hmuen kasae sah mak ai, Thacak Angraeng loe hmuen sakpazaehaih roe tawn mak ai.
11For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them.
11Kami mah sak ih hmuen baktih toengah Sithaw mah pathok, angmah ih tuinuen baktih toengah, a nuiah phaksak.
12For in very deed God will not condemn without cause, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
12Ue, Sithaw loe natuek naa ah doeh kasae hmuen to sah mak ai; Thacak Angraeng loe toenghaih to paqoi ving mak ai.
13What other hath he appointed over the earth? or whom hath he set over the world which he made?
13Mi mah maw anih to long khenzawnkung hoi long boih ukkung ah suek?
14If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself.
14Kami nuiah Sithaw palungphui moe, angmah ih Muithla hoi a hinghaih takhi to la ving nahaeloe,
15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.
15kaminawk loe nawnto anghma o boih tih, kami loe maiphu ah amlaem let tih.
16If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.
16Vaihi panoekhaih na tawnh nahaeloe, khopoek ah; ka thuih ih lok hae tahngai ah.
17Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?
17Toenghaih hnuma kami mah uk thai tih maw? Thacak toenghaih hoi lokcaekkung to kasae thui thai tih maw?
18Who saith to the king: Thou art an apostate: who calleth rulers ungodly?
18Siangpahrang khaeah, Nang loe tidoeh avang ai, angraengnawk khaeah, Nangcae loe kahoih ai kami ni, tiah thui thai tih maw?
19Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.
19Toe anih loe angraengnawk ih mikhmai to khen ai, amtang kaminawk pongah loe angraeng kaminawk ni mikhmai paek kue, tiah om ai; nihcae loe Sithaw mah ni sak boih.
20They shall suddenly die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and they shall pass, and take away the violent without hand.
20Nihcae loe nawnetta ah duek o; kaminawk loe qum taning ah tasoeh o moe, laemh o boih; thacak kaminawk doeh kami ih ban hoi na ai ah laemh o boih.
21For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he considereth all their steps.
21Sithaw mah loe kami caehhaih loklam to khet moe, a khok tangkannawk doeh hnuk boih.
22There is no darkness, and there is no shadow of death, where they may be hid who work iniquity.
22Zaehaih sah kaminawk anghawk ving thaihaih khoving hoi duekhaih tahlip to om ai.
23For it is no longer in the power of man to enter into judgment with God.
23Lokcaek hanah kami mah Sithaw hmaa ah caeh naah, anih mah kami lokcaekhaih ani to khaeh han angai ai.
24He shall break in pieces many and innumerable, and shall make others to stand in their stead.
24Lokduenghaih om ai ah thacak kaminawk to a vah phaeng moe, nihcae zuengah kalah kaminawk to a suek.
25For he knoweth their works: and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed.
25Nihcae mah sak ih hmuennawk to anih mah panoek boih pongah, khovingsak moe, amrosak boih.
26He hath struck them, as being wicked, in open sight.
26Nihcae loe angmacae sethaih baktih toengah minawk hmaa ah danpaek,
27Who as it were on purpose have revolted from him, and would not understand all his ways:
27nihcae loe Sithaw to caeh o taak moe, anih ih loklamnawk to tiah doeh poek o ai;
28So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.
28to tiah sak o pongah amtang kaminawk qahhaih lok to Angraeng hmaa ah phak moe, pacaekthlaek kaminawk hanghaih lok to anih mah thaih.
29For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?
29Toe Sithaw mah anghngai taak duem nahaeloe, mi mah maw raihaih paek thai tih, a mikhmai hawk ving nahaeloe, mi kawbaktih kami hoi prae kaminawk mah maw, anih to hnu thai tih?
30Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?
30To tiah kaminawk thaang pongah amansak han ai ah, Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk to danpaek.
31Seeing then I have spoken of God, I will not hinder thee in thy turn.
31Kami maeto mah Sithaw khaeah, Kai loe thuitaekhaih ka tongh boeh pongah, ka zae let mak ai boeh;
32If I have erred, teach thou me: if I have spoken iniquity, I will add no more.
32ka hnu ai ih hmuen to na patuk ah; zaekhaih ka sakpazae boeh nahaeloe, zaehaih ka sah let mak ai boeh, tiah thuih han om ai maw.
33Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? for thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.
33To hmuen loe na poekhaih baktiah maw om tih? Kai na ai ni, na pahnawt cadoeh, na qoih cadoeh, Sithaw mah pathok let tih, to pongah na panoek ih baktiah thui ah.
34Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
34Panoekhaih tawn kaminawk mah kai han na thui o nasoe loe, palungha kaminawk mah ka lok hae tahngai o nasoe.
35But Job hath spoken foolishly, and his words sound not discipline.
35Job loe panoekhaih tawn ai ah lok to thuih; a thuih ih loknawk loe palunghahaih om ai.
36My father, let Job be tried even to the end: cease not from the man of iniquity.
36Job loe panoekhaih tawn ai kaminawk baktiah lokthuih pongah, anih to boeng khoek to tanoek han ka koeh.
37Because he addeth blasphemy upon his sins, let him be tied fast in the mean time amongst us: and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.
37Zaehaih sak khue na ai ah lokaekhaih doeh oh, aicae salakah ban to tabaeng moe, pop parai Sithaw kasae thuihaih lok to a thuih, tiah a naa.
