1And Eliu continued his discourse, and said:
1Elihu loh koep a doo tih,
2Hear ye, wise men, my words, and ye learned, hearken to me:
2Aka cueih rhoek ka ol hnatun uh lamtah aka ming rhoek loh kai taengla hnakaeng uh.
3For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.
3Hna loh olthui a nuemnai tih lai loh caak te a ten.
4Let us choose to us judgment, and let us see among ourselves what is the best.
4Tiktamnah te mamih ham coelh uh sih lamtah a then te mamih lakli ah ming uh sih.
5For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment.
5Job loh,'Ka tang lalah Pathen loh ka tiktamnah a hnawt.
6For in judging me there is a lie: my arrow is violent without any sin.
6Ka tiktamnah khaw ka laithae bang mai la boekoeknah pawt mai ah ka thaltang loh rhawp coeng,’ a ti.
7What man is there like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
7Tui bangla tamdaengnah aka o Job bang hlang he om nim.
8Who goeth in company with them that work iniquity, and walketh with wicked men?
8Boethae aka saii neh rhoihui bangla yiin tih halang hlang rhoek taengah khaw pongpa.
9For he hath said: Man shall not please God, although he run with him.
9'Pathen taengah a ngaingaih vaengah hlang hmaiben pawh,’ a ti.
10Therefore, ye men of understanding, hear me: far from god be wickedness, and iniquity from the Almighty.
10Te dongah thinko aka khueh hlang rhoek loh kai taengah hnatun uh. Halangnah he Pathen lamloh savisava tih Tlungthang he dumlai neh savisava coeng.
11For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them.
11Hlang kah bisai he amah taengla a thuung tih hlang a caehlong bangla amah loh a hmuh.
12For in very deed God will not condemn without cause, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
12Pathen tah boe tueng pawt tih Tlungthang loh tiktamnah te a khun sak moenih.
13What other hath he appointed over the earth? or whom hath he set over the world which he made?
13Amah loh diklai ah unim a khueh tih lunglai he a pum la u taengah nim a tloeng.
14If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself.
14Amah taengkah loh a khueh a lungbuei, a mueihla neh a hiil te amah taengla khoem koinih,
15All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.
15Pumsa boeih he rhenten pal vetih hlang he laipi la mael ni.
16If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.
16Yakmingnah a om atah he he hnatun lamtah ka olthui ol he hnakaeng lah.
17Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?
17Tiktamnah aka thiinah aisat loh a ngoldoelh tih aka dueng khuet loh m'boe sak aya?
18Who saith to the king: Thou art an apostate: who calleth rulers ungodly?
18Manghai te,'hlang muen,’ hlangcong te 'Halang,’ a ti nah nim?
19Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.
19Amah loh mangpa maelhmai dan pawt tih tattloel maelhmai lakah rhoeikhang kah a hmat tloe moenih. Amih boeih te amah kut dongah kutngo ni.
20They shall suddenly die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and they shall pass, and take away the violent without hand.
20Mikhaptok ah a duek dongah pilnam khoyin pathung ah tuen tih khum uh. Kut nen pawt akhaw aka lueng a khoe uh.
21For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he considereth all their steps.
21A mik te hlang kah longpuei dongah a khueh tih a khokan boeih te a hmuh.
22There is no darkness, and there is no shadow of death, where they may be hid who work iniquity.
22Boethae aka saii rhoek thuh hamla hmaisuep om pawt tih dueknah hlipkhup khaw a om moenih.
23For it is no longer in the power of man to enter into judgment with God.
23Pathen taengkah laitloeknah dongla a pha ham coeng dongah hlang te koep a cae moenih.
24He shall break in pieces many and innumerable, and shall make others to stand in their stead.
24Aka khuet khenah a om pawt ah a phaek tih amih yueng la a tloe a khueh.
25For he knoweth their works: and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed.
25Amih kah khoboe te a hmat dongah khoyin ah a maelh tih pop uh.
26He hath struck them, as being wicked, in open sight.
26Halang rhoek ham tah hmuh nah hmuen ah amih te kut a paeng thil.
27Who as it were on purpose have revolted from him, and would not understand all his ways:
27Te dongah ni a hnuk lamloh nong uh tangloeng tih a longpuei boeih te cangbam uh pawh.
28So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.
28tattloel kah pangngawlnah te a taengla pawk tih mangdaeng kah pangngawlnah a yaak.
29For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?
29Tedae amah te mong tih ulong a boe sak. Maelhmai a thuh vaengah ulong anih a mae? Tedae namtom so neh hlang khat soah khaw rhenten om ta.
30Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?
30Lailak hlang a manghai khaw pilnam ham hlaeh la poeh.
31Seeing then I have spoken of God, I will not hinder thee in thy turn.
31Pathen taengah tah,'Ka laikoi pawt khaw ka phueih.
32If I have erred, teach thou me: if I have spoken iniquity, I will add no more.
32Nang kam hmuh pawt ah kai nan thuinuet coeng. Dumlai ka saii mai cakhaw ka koei voel boel eh?,’ a ti nama thui coeng.
33Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? for thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.
33Na hnawt coeng dongah te kah te namah taeng lamloh na thuung aya? Namah loh na coelh coeng, kai long moenih. Te dongah na ming te thui to.
34Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
34Thinko aka khueh hlang rhoek loh kai taengah thui uh lamtah hlang cueih loh kai taengkah he hnatun saeh.
35But Job hath spoken foolishly, and his words sound not discipline.
35Job he mingnah neh cal pawt tih a ol long a cangbam moenih.
36My father, let Job be tried even to the end: cease not from the man of iniquity.
36A pa nae, boethae hlang kah taikhaih dongah Job loh a yoeyah la loepdak saeh.
37Because he addeth blasphemy upon his sins, let him be tied fast in the mean time amongst us: and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.
37A tholhnah te mamih laklo ah boekoek neh a koei uh tih kut a paeng dongah Pathen taengah a ol pung,” a ti.
