1Then Job answered, and said:
1Te phoeiah Job loh a doo tih,
2I have often heard such things as these: you are all troublesome comforters.
2“Te bang ol te muep ka yaak coeng. Nangmih boeih kah a hloep khaw thakthaenah ni.
3Shall windy words have no end? or is it any trouble to thee to speak?
3Khohli ol te a bawtnah om a? Balae tih na doo hamla nang n'huek.
4I also could speak like you: and would God your soul were for my soul.
4Kai khaw nang bangla ka thui thai ta. Na hinglu te ka hinglu yueng la om koinih olthui neh nangmih te kan sun vetih ka lu lamloh nangmih taengah ka hinghuen van ni.
5I would comfort you also with words, and would wag my head over you.
5Ka ka neh nangmih te kan duel lah vetih ka hmuilai kah thaphohnah loh n'hoeptlang mako.
6I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as sparing you.
6Ka thui akhaw ka thakkhoeihnah a rhoei moenih. Ka paa koinih kai lamloh metlam a caeh eh?
7But what shall I do? If I speak, my pain will not rest: and if I hold my peace, it will not depart from me.
7Ka hlangboel boeih khaw na pong uh tih ka ngak ngawn coeng.
8But now my sorrow hath oppressed me, and all my limbs are brought to nothing.
8Kai nan tonga sak khaw laipai la om coeng. Ka laithae khaw ka taengah pai sak tih ka mikhmuh ah n'doo coeng.
9My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me.
9A thintoek loh a baeh tih kai soah a konaeh. Kai taengah a no te a tah coeng. Ka rhal loh kai soah a mik a huel.
10He hath gathered together his fury against me, and threatening me he hath gnashed with his teeth upon me: my enemy hath beheld me with terrible eyes.
10A ka neh kai n'ang thil uh. Kokhahnah neh ka kam han taam uh tih kai taengah huek ha cu uh.
11They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek, they are filled with my pains.
11Pathen loh kai he hlang thae taengla n'det tih halang kut dongla kai m'muek.
12God hath shut me up with the unjust man, and hath delivered me into the hands of the wicked.
12Thayoeituipan la ka om vaengah kai m'phae. Ka rhawn ah n'khak tih kai he n'taekyak. Te dongah kai he amah ham kutnoek la m'pai sak coeng.
13I that was formerly so wealthy, am all on a sudden broken to pieces: he hath taken me by my neck, he hath broken me, and hath set me up to be his mark.
13Ka taengah a lithen rhoek loh m'vael uh tih ka kuel a khoh. Lungma a ti kolla diklai dongah ka hmuet phawt coeng.
14He hath compassed me round about with his lances, he hath wounded my loins, he hath not spared, and hath poured out my bowels on the earth.
14A puut hman ah a puut loh kai m'va. Hlangrhalh bangla kai taengah cu.
15He hath torn me with wound upon wound, he hath rushed in upon me like a giant.
15Ka vin soah tlamhni ka hui tih ka ki khaw laipi neh ka poelyoe coeng.
16I have sowed sackcloth upon my skin, and have covered my flesh with ashes.
16Ka maelhmai he rhahnah neh nok la nok uh tih ka mikkhu khaw nut coeng.
17My face is swollen with weeping, and my eyelids are dim.
17Te cakhaw boethae ka kut ah kuthlahnah om pawt tih ka thangthuinah khaw cil.
18These things have I suffered without the iniquity of my hand, when I offered pure prayers to God.
18Diklai nang loh ka thii he vuei boeh. Ka pang ol he khaw hmuen om boel saeh.
19O earth, cover not thou my blood, neither let my cry find a hiding place in thee.
19Vaan ah pataeng kai kah laipai om tih ka hlangcal khaw hmuensang ah om coeng ke.
20For behold my witness is in heaven, and he that knoweth my conscience is on high.
20Ka hui khaw Pathen taengah kai kah hmuiyoi la om tih ka mik khaw pha coeng.
21My friends are full of words: my eye poureth out tears to God.
21Hlang capa tah hlang ham neh a hui ham Pathen taengah a thui ta.
22And O that a man might so be judged with God, as the son of man is judged with his companion!
22Kum a tarhing ah ha pawk vetih ka mael voel mueh caehlong ah ka cet pawn ni.
23For behold short years pass away and I am walking in a path by which I shall not return.
