1Prima sabbati. Psalmus David. [Domini est terra, et plenitudo ejus; orbis terrarum, et universi qui habitant in eo.
1A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2Quia ipse super maria fundavit eum, et super flumina præparavit eum.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.
3Quis ascendet in montem Domini? aut quis stabit in loco sancto ejus?
3He restoreth my soul; He guideth me in straight paths for His name's sake.
4Innocens manibus et mundo corde, qui non accepit in vano animam suam, nec juravit in dolo proximo suo:
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
5hic accipiet benedictionem a Domino, et misericordiam a Deo salutari suo.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Hæc est generatio quærentium eum, quærentium faciem Dei Jacob.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
7Attollite portas, principes, vestras, et elevamini, portæ æternales, et introibit rex gloriæ.
