4“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.

6Hlangyoe te hnoo lamtah hing uh, yakmingnah longpuei te uem uh.
6Leave your folly behind, and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”
7Hmuiyoi aka toel tah amah loh yah a poh tih, halang aka tluung tah amah loh nganboh a yook.

8Do not rebuke a mocker, or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9Aka cueih te pae lah taoe cueih ni, aka dueng te na tukkil atah rhingtuknah a thap ni.
9Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.
10BOEIPA hinyahnah tah cueihnah lamhma la om tih aka cim mingnah he yakmingnah la om.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11Kai rhangneh na khohnin te puh vetih nang hamla hingnah kum khaw a thap ni.
11For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.
12Na cueih la na cueih mak atah namah ham ngawn ni. Hmui na yoih atah nang namah long ni na phueih eh.
12If you are wise, you are wise to your own advantage; but if you scoff, you alone will bear the consequences.
