1ถ้าเธอเป็นเหมือนพี่ชายหรือน้องชายของฉันก็คงดี คนที่เคยกินนมจากอกแม่ฉัน! ถ้าฉันพบเธอข้างนอก ก็จะจูบเธอ แล้วจะไม่มีใครดูหมิ่นฉัน
1O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
2ฉันจะพาเธอเข้าไปในบ้านแม่ แม่จะสอนฉัน ฉันจะให้เธอดื่มเหล้าองุ่นผสมเครื่องหอม ดื่มน้ำทับทิมของฉัน
2I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
3มือซ้ายเขาจะรองศีรษะฉัน มือขวาจะโอบกอดฉัน
3His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
4หญิงสาวชาวเยรูซาเล็มทั้งหลาย ฉันขอให้พวกเธอสาบาน ว่าจะไม่เร่งเร้าหรือปลุกความรัก จนกว่าความรักจะปรารถนาเอง
4I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please.
5ใครกันกำลังขึ้นมาจากถิ่นทุรกันดาร อิงคนรักของเธอ? ฉันปลุกเธอใต้ต้นแอปเปิล ที่นั่นแม่เธอเริ่มอุ้มท้องเธอ ที่นั่นแม่เจ็บท้องคลอดและให้กำเนิดเธอ
5Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee.
6แนบฉันไว้ดั่งตราประทับบนหัวใจเธอ ดั่งตราประทับบนแขนเธอ เพราะความรักแข็งแกร่งเท่าความตาย ความหึงหวงโหดร้ายเท่าเชโอล ประกายที่วาบขึ้นเป็นประกายไฟ เป็นเปลวไฟแรงกล้าของพระยาห์เวห์
6¶ Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
7น้ำมากมายดับความรักไม่ได้ น้ำหลากก็ท่วมกลบความรักไม่ได้ ถ้าใครยกทรัพย์สินทั้งบ้านเพื่อแลกความรัก คนนั้นจะถูกเหยียดหยามอย่างยิ่ง
7Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
8เรามีน้องสาวตัวเล็กคนหนึ่ง เธอยังไม่มีหน้าอก เราจะทำอะไรให้น้องสาว ในวันที่มีคนมาสู่ขอเธอ?
8¶ We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
9ถ้าเธอเป็นกำแพง เราจะสร้างป้อมเงินบนกำแพงนั้น ถ้าเธอเป็นประตู เราจะล้อมเธอไว้ด้วยแผ่นไม้ซีดาร์
9If she be a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
10ฉันเป็นกำแพง ทรวงอกฉันเหมือนหอคอย ตอนนั้น ในสายตาเขา ฉันเป็นเหมือนคนที่พบความสงบ
10I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
11ซาโลมอนมีสวนองุ่นที่บาอัลฮาโมน เขาให้คนดูแลเช่าสวนองุ่นนั้น แต่ละคนต้องนำเงินพันเชเขล มาเป็นค่าผลของสวน
11Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.
12สวนองุ่นของฉันเองอยู่ตรงหน้าฉัน เงินพันนั้นให้ท่าน ซาโลมอน สองร้อยให้คนที่ดูแลผลของสวน
12My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: thou, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
13เธอผู้อยู่ในสวนทั้งหลาย มีเพื่อน ๆ อยู่ด้วย ขอให้ฉันได้ยินเสียงเธอ!
13Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it .
14ไปด้วยกันเถอะ คนรักของฉัน! เป็นเหมือนกาเซลหรือกวางหนุ่มตัวผู้บนภูเขาเครื่องหอม!
14¶ Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
