1เมื่อพระเยซูกล่าวถ้อยคำเหล่านี้จบแล้ว พระองค์ออกจากแคว้นกาลิลี และมายังเขตแดนแคว้นยูเดียอีกฟากของจอร์แดน
1And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
2ฝูงชนจำนวนมากติดตามพระองค์ และพระองค์รักษาพวกเขาที่นั่น
2And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
3พวกฟาริสีมาหาพระองค์เพื่อทดสอบ และถามว่า “ผู้ชายได้รับอนุญาตให้หย่าภรรยาด้วยเหตุผลใดก็ได้หรือ?”
3¶ The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
4พระองค์ตอบว่า “พวกคุณไม่ได้อ่านหรือว่า ผู้ที่สร้างพวกเขาตั้งแต่เริ่มแรก สร้างพวกเขาให้เป็นชายและหญิง
4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5และกล่าวว่า ‘เพราะเหตุนี้ ผู้ชายจะละบิดาและมารดา และผูกพันกับภรรยาของตน และทั้งสองจะเป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน’?
5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
6ดังนั้น พวกเขาจึงไม่เป็นสองอีกต่อไป แต่เป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน เพราะฉะนั้น สิ่งที่พระเจ้ารวมไว้ด้วยกัน อย่าให้มนุษย์แยกออกจากกัน”
6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
7พวกเขาถามพระองค์ว่า “ถ้าอย่างนั้น ทำไมโมเสสจึงสั่งให้ออกหนังสือรับรองการหย่าให้นาง แล้วหย่านาง?”
7They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8พระองค์กล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “เพราะใจของพวกคุณแข็งกระด้าง โมเสสจึงอนุญาตให้พวกคุณหย่าภรรยา แต่ตั้งแต่เริ่มแรกไม่ได้เป็นเช่นนั้น
8He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9เราบอกพวกคุณว่า ผู้ใดหย่าภรรยาของตน นอกจากเพราะการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ แล้วแต่งงานกับหญิงอื่น ผู้นั้นก็ล่วงประเวณี และผู้ใดแต่งงานกับหญิงที่ถูกหย่า ก็ล่วงประเวณี”
9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10สาวกของพระองค์กล่าวกับพระองค์ว่า “ถ้าเรื่องของผู้ชายกับภรรยาเป็นเช่นนี้ การแต่งงานก็ไม่เป็นผลดี”
10¶ His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11แต่พระองค์กล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “ไม่ใช่ทุกคนจะรับคำนี้ได้ แต่เฉพาะผู้ที่ได้รับสิ่งนี้มา
11But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12เพราะมีขันทีที่เกิดมาเป็นเช่นนั้นตั้งแต่ครรภ์มารดา มีขันทีที่มนุษย์ทำให้เป็นขันที และมีขันทีที่ทำตนเป็นขันทีเพราะอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ ผู้ใดรับคำนี้ได้ ก็ให้รับเถิด”
12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it , let him receive it.
13แล้วผู้คนพาเด็กเล็ก ๆ มาหาพระองค์ เพื่อให้พระองค์วางมือบนพวกเขาและอธิษฐาน แต่สาวกตำหนิคนที่พาเด็กมา
13¶ Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14แต่พระเยซูกล่าวว่า “ปล่อยให้เด็กเล็ก ๆ มาหาเรา อย่าห้ามพวกเขา เพราะอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เป็นของคนเช่นนี้”
14But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15พระองค์วางมือบนพวกเขา แล้วออกจากที่นั่น
15And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16มีชายคนหนึ่งมาหาพระองค์ และถามว่า “อาจารย์ที่ดี ข้าพเจ้าจะต้องทำความดีอะไร จึงจะได้รับชีวิตนิรันดร์?”
16¶ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17พระองค์กล่าวกับเขาว่า “ทำไมท่านจึงเรียกเราว่าดี? ไม่มีใครดีนอกจากผู้เดียว คือ พระเจ้า แต่ถ้าท่านต้องการเข้าสู่ชีวิต จงรักษาคำสั่งทั้งหลาย”
17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is , God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18เขาถามพระองค์ว่า “ข้อไหนบ้าง?” พระเยซูกล่าวว่า “‘อย่าฆ่า’ ‘อย่าล่วงประเวณี’ ‘อย่าลักขโมย’ ‘อย่าเป็นพยานเท็จ’
18He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19‘จงให้เกียรติบิดาและมารดาของเจ้า’ และ ‘จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง’”
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20ชายหนุ่มกล่าวกับพระองค์ว่า “ข้าพเจ้าปฏิบัติตามสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมดมาตั้งแต่เยาว์วัย ข้าพเจ้ายังขาดอะไรอีก?”
20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21พระเยซูกล่าวกับเขาว่า “ถ้าท่านต้องการเป็นคนสมบูรณ์แบบ จงไปขายสิ่งที่ท่านมี และแจกให้คนยากจน แล้วท่านจะมีทรัพย์สมบัติในสวรรค์ จากนั้นจงมาติดตามเรา”
21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22แต่เมื่อชายหนุ่มได้ยินคำพูดนี้ เขาก็จากไปด้วยความเศร้า เพราะเขามีทรัพย์สมบัติมาก
22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23พระเยซูกล่าวกับสาวกว่า “เราบอกความจริงแก่พวกคุณว่า คนมั่งมีจะเข้าอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ได้ยาก
23¶ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24เราบอกพวกคุณอีกว่า อูฐลอดรูเข็มยังง่ายกว่าคนมั่งมีเข้าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้า”
24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25เมื่อสาวกได้ยิน พวกเขาก็ประหลาดใจอย่างยิ่ง และถามว่า “ถ้าอย่างนั้น ใครจะรอดได้?”
25When his disciples heard it , they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26พระเยซูมองพวกเขา และกล่าวว่า “สำหรับมนุษย์ เรื่องนี้เป็นไปไม่ได้ แต่สำหรับพระเจ้า ทุกสิ่งเป็นไปได้”
26But Jesus beheld them , and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27แล้วเปโตรตอบพระองค์ว่า “ดูสิ พวกเราได้ละทุกสิ่งและติดตามท่านมา แล้วพวกเราจะได้อะไร?”
27¶ Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28พระเยซูกล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “เราบอกความจริงแก่พวกคุณว่า ในยุคแห่งการสร้างใหม่ เมื่อบุตรมนุษย์นั่งบนบัลลังก์แห่งพระสิริของพระองค์ พวกคุณผู้ติดตามเราก็จะนั่งบนบัลลังก์สิบสองบัลลังก์ พิพากษาสิบสองเผ่าของอิสราเอล
28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29ทุกคนที่ละบ้าน พี่น้องชาย พี่น้องหญิง บิดา มารดา ภรรยา ลูก ๆ หรือที่ดิน เพราะนามของเรา จะได้รับหนึ่งร้อยเท่า และจะได้รับชีวิตนิรันดร์เป็นมรดก
29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30แต่คนแรกหลายคนจะเป็นคนสุดท้าย และคนสุดท้ายจะเป็นคนแรก
30But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
