1จงฟังถ้อยคำนี้ แม่วัวแห่งบาชานทั้งหลายที่อยู่บนภูเขาสะมาเรีย พวกคุณกดขี่คนจน บดขยี้คนยากไร้ และบอกสามีว่า “เอาเครื่องดื่มมาให้พวกเรา!”
1Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
2พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ สาบานด้วยความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพระองค์ว่า “จงใส่ใจ วันนั้นจะมาถึงพวกคุณ พวกเขาจะเอาตะขอเกี่ยวพวกคุณไป เอาเบ็ดตกปลาเกี่ยวคนที่เหลืออยู่ไป
2The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.
3พวกคุณจะออกทางช่องโหว่ในกำแพง ต่างคนต่างตรงออกไป แล้วจะทิ้งตัวเข้าไปในฮาร์โมน” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
3And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD .
4“ไปเบธเอลแล้วทำบาปสิ ไปกิลกาลแล้วทำบาปให้มากขึ้น นำเครื่องบูชามาทุกเช้า นำส่วนหนึ่งในสิบมาทุกสามวัน
4¶ Come to Beth-el, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
5ถวายเครื่องบูชาขอบคุณจากสิ่งที่ใส่เชื้อ ประกาศและโอ้อวดเรื่องเครื่องบูชาที่สมัครใจถวาย เพราะชาวอิสราเอล พวกคุณชอบอย่างนี้” พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ กล่าว
5And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD .
6“เราเองทำให้พวกคุณไม่มีอาหารให้เคี้ยวในทุกเมือง ไม่มีขนมปังในทุกเมือง แต่พวกคุณก็ยังไม่กลับมาหาเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
6¶ And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD .
7“เราไม่ให้ฝนตกลงมาถึงพวกคุณ ทั้งที่ยังเหลืออีกสามเดือนก่อนเก็บเกี่ยว เราให้ฝนตกในเมืองหนึ่ง แต่ไม่ให้ตกในอีกเมืองหนึ่ง ไร่หนึ่งมีฝนตก แต่ไร่ที่ไม่มีฝนก็เหี่ยวแห้ง
7And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
8ผู้คนจากสองสามเมืองจึงเดินโซเซไปยังอีกเมืองเพื่อหาน้ำดื่ม แต่ก็ยังดื่มไม่พอ แต่พวกคุณก็ยังไม่กลับมาหาเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
8So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD .
9“เราทำให้สวนและสวนองุ่นของพวกคุณเสียหายจากโรคพืชและเชื้อราหลายครั้ง ฝูงตั๊กแตนกินต้นมะเดื่อและต้นมะกอกโอลีฟของพวกคุณ แต่พวกคุณก็ยังไม่กลับมาหาเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
9I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD .
10“เราส่งโรคระบาดมาท่ามกลางพวกคุณเหมือนที่ทำกับอียิปต์ เราฆ่าชายหนุ่มของพวกคุณด้วยดาบ เอาม้าของพวกคุณไป เราให้กลิ่นเหม็นจากค่ายของพวกคุณอบอวลในจมูก แต่พวกคุณก็ยังไม่กลับมาหาเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
10I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD .
11“เราทำลายพวกคุณบางคน เหมือนเมื่อพระเจ้าทำลายโสโดมและโกโมราห์ พวกคุณเป็นเหมือนฟืนที่ติดไฟซึ่งถูกดึงออกจากกองไฟ แต่พวกคุณก็ยังไม่กลับมาหาเรา” พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
11I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD .
12“เพราะฉะนั้น อิสราเอล เราจะทำเช่นนี้กับพวกคุณ ในเมื่อเราจะทำเช่นนี้กับพวกคุณ อิสราเอล จงเตรียมตัวพบพระเจ้าของพวกคุณ
12Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13จงใส่ใจ พระองค์ผู้ก่อรูปภูเขา สร้างลม และแจ้งให้มนุษย์รู้ถึงความคิดของเขา ผู้ทำให้รุ่งเช้ากลายเป็นความมืด และเหยียบย่างบนที่สูงของแผ่นดิน มีชื่อว่า พระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าแห่งกองทัพทั้งหลาย”
13For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD , The God of hosts, is his name.
