1ข้าพเจ้าไม่เป็นอิสระหรือ? ข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่อัครทูตหรือ? ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้เห็นพระเยซูคริสต์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราหรือ? พวกคุณไม่ใช่ผลงานของข้าพเจ้าในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าหรือ?
1Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
2ถ้าข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่อัครทูตสำหรับคนอื่น อย่างน้อยข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นอัครทูตสำหรับพวกคุณ เพราะพวกคุณเป็นตราประทับยืนยันความเป็นอัครทูตของข้าพเจ้าในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
2If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

3Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
4เราไม่มีสิทธิ์กินและดื่มหรือ?
4Have we not power to eat and to drink?
5เราไม่มีสิทธิ์พาภรรยาที่เป็นผู้เชื่อเดินทางไปด้วยหรือ เช่นเดียวกับอัครทูตคนอื่น ๆ พี่น้องขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และเคฟาส?
5Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
6หรือมีเพียงบารนาบัสกับข้าพเจ้าเท่านั้นที่ไม่มีสิทธิ์หยุดทำงานหาเลี้ยงชีพ?
6Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
7มีทหารคนไหนออกรบโดยออกค่าใช้จ่ายเอง? ใครปลูกสวนองุ่นแล้วไม่กินผลจากสวนนั้น? หรือใครเลี้ยงฝูงสัตว์แล้วไม่ดื่มน้ำนมจากฝูงนั้น?
7Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
8ข้าพเจ้าพูดเรื่องเหล่านี้อย่างที่มนุษย์ทั่วไปพูดกันเท่านั้นหรือ? ธรรมบัญญัติก็พูดอย่างเดียวกันไม่ใช่หรือ?
8Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
9เพราะมีคำเขียนไว้ในธรรมบัญญัติของโมเสสว่า “อย่าเอาตะกร้อครอบปากวัวขณะมันกำลังนวดข้าว” พระเจ้าทรงห่วงวัวหรือ
9For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10หรือพระองค์กล่าวเรื่องนี้เพื่อเราโดยเฉพาะ? ใช่แล้ว เรื่องนี้เขียนไว้เพื่อเรา เพราะคนไถนาควรไถด้วยความหวัง และคนนวดข้าวควรนวดด้วยความหวังว่าจะได้รับส่วนของตน
10Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11ถ้าเราหว่านสิ่งทางจิตวิญญาณให้พวกคุณ แล้วการที่เราจะเก็บเกี่ยวสิ่งทางกายจากพวกคุณ จะเป็นเรื่องใหญ่โตอะไร?
11If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12ถ้าคนอื่นมีส่วนในสิทธิ์นี้เหนือพวกคุณ เรายิ่งมีสิทธิ์มากกว่านั้นไม่ใช่หรือ? ถึงอย่างนั้น เราไม่ได้ใช้สิทธิ์นี้ แต่ยอมทนทุกอย่าง เพื่อจะไม่ทำอะไรขัดขวางข่าวดีของพระคริสต์
12If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า คนที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ก็กินจากสิ่งของในวิหาร และคนที่รับใช้อยู่ที่แท่นบูชาก็ได้รับส่วนแบ่งจากแท่นบูชา?
13Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
14เช่นเดียวกัน องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงกำหนดให้คนที่ประกาศข่าวดีเลี้ยงชีพจากข่าวดี
14Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
15แต่ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้ใช้สิทธิ์เหล่านี้เลย และข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้เขียนเรื่องนี้เพื่อให้พวกคุณทำเช่นนั้นแก่ข้าพเจ้า เพราะข้าพเจ้ายอมตายเสียดีกว่าให้ใครทำให้สิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าอวดได้นั้นหมดความหมาย
15But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
16เพราะถึงข้าพเจ้าจะประกาศข่าวดี ข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่มีอะไรให้อวด เพราะข้าพเจ้าจำเป็นต้องทำ วิบัติแก่ข้าพเจ้าถ้าข้าพเจ้าไม่ประกาศข่าวดี!
16For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17ถ้าข้าพเจ้าทำเรื่องนี้ด้วยความสมัครใจ ข้าพเจ้าก็มีค่าตอบแทน แต่ถ้าไม่ได้ทำด้วยความสมัครใจ ข้าพเจ้าก็ยังได้รับมอบหมายให้เป็นผู้ดูแล
17For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18ถ้าอย่างนั้น ค่าตอบแทนของข้าพเจ้าคืออะไร? คือเมื่อข้าพเจ้าประกาศข่าวดี ข้าพเจ้าเสนอข่าวดีของพระคริสต์โดยไม่คิดค่าใช้จ่าย เพื่อจะไม่ใช้สิทธิอำนาจที่ข้าพเจ้ามีในข่าวดีเกินขอบเขต
18What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
19แม้ข้าพเจ้าเป็นอิสระจากทุกคน ข้าพเจ้าก็ยอมทำตัวเป็นทาสของทุกคน เพื่อจะได้คนมามากขึ้น
19For though I be free from all men , yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20ต่อชาวยิว ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นเหมือนชาวยิว เพื่อจะได้ชาวยิว ต่อคนที่อยู่ใต้ธรรมบัญญัติ ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นเหมือนคนที่อยู่ใต้ธรรมบัญญัติ เพื่อจะได้คนที่อยู่ใต้ธรรมบัญญัติ
20And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21ต่อคนที่ไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นเหมือนคนที่ไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ (แต่ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้อยู่โดยปราศจากธรรมบัญญัติของพระเจ้า เพราะข้าพเจ้าอยู่ใต้ธรรมบัญญัติของพระคริสต์) เพื่อจะได้คนที่ไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ
21To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22ต่อคนอ่อนแอ ข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นเหมือนคนอ่อนแอ เพื่อจะได้คนอ่อนแอ ข้าพเจ้าเป็นทุกอย่างสำหรับทุกคน เพื่อจะช่วยบางคนให้รอดด้วยทุกวิถีทาง
22To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men , that I might by all means save some.
23ข้าพเจ้าทำทุกอย่างนี้เพื่อข่าวดี เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะได้มีส่วนร่วมในข่าวดีนั้นกับคนอื่น
23And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you .
24พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า คนที่วิ่งแข่งย่อมวิ่งกันทุกคน แต่มีคนเดียวที่ได้รางวัล? จงวิ่งอย่างนั้น เพื่อพวกคุณจะคว้ารางวัลไว้ได้
24Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25ทุกคนที่เข้าแข่งขันย่อมควบคุมตนเองในทุกเรื่อง พวกเขาทำเช่นนั้นเพื่อจะได้มงกุฎที่เสื่อมสลายได้ แต่เราทำเพื่อมงกุฎที่ไม่เสื่อมสลาย
25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26ดังนั้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงวิ่งอย่างมีจุดหมาย และต่อสู้เหมือนคนที่ไม่ได้ชกลม
26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27แต่ข้าพเจ้าปราบร่างกายของตนอย่างหนัก และบังคับให้อยู่ใต้การควบคุม เพื่อว่าหลังจากข้าพเจ้าประกาศแก่คนอื่นแล้ว ตัวข้าพเจ้าเองจะไม่กลายเป็นคนที่ถูกตัดสิทธิ์
27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
