1ดังนั้น ทุกคนควรมองเราว่าเป็นผู้รับใช้ของพระคริสต์ และเป็นผู้ดูแลความลับต่าง ๆ ของพระเจ้า
1Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2สิ่งที่ต้องการจากผู้ดูแลคือ ต้องพิสูจน์ว่าเป็นคนที่ซื่อสัตย์
2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
3สำหรับข้าพเจ้า การถูกพวกคุณตัดสิน หรือถูกศาลของมนุษย์ตัดสิน เป็นเรื่องเล็กน้อยมาก ที่จริง ข้าพเจ้าไม่แม้แต่ตัดสินตัวเอง
3But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
4เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้ว่าตนมีความผิดอะไร แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็ไม่ได้รับความชอบธรรมเพราะเรื่องนี้ ผู้ที่ตัดสินข้าพเจ้าคือองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
4For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5ดังนั้น อย่าตัดสินสิ่งใดก่อนถึงเวลา จงรอจนกว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะมา พระองค์จะทรงนำสิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ในความมืดออกมาให้เห็นในความสว่าง และจะทรงเปิดเผยความคิดในใจของมนุษย์ แล้วแต่ละคนจะได้รับคำชมจากพระเจ้า
5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
6พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เพื่อประโยชน์ของพวกคุณ ข้าพเจ้าได้นำเรื่องเหล่านี้มาเปรียบกับตัวข้าพเจ้าและอปอลโล เพื่อพวกคุณจะได้เรียนรู้จากเราว่า อย่าคิดเกินสิ่งที่เขียนไว้ เพื่อจะไม่มีใครหยิ่งยกคนหนึ่งขึ้นข่มอีกคนหนึ่ง
6And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
7ใครทำให้ท่านแตกต่างจากคนอื่น? มีอะไรที่ท่านมีแล้วไม่ได้รับมา? ถ้าท่านได้รับมา แล้วทำไมจึงอวดเหมือนกับว่าไม่ได้รับมา?
7For who maketh thee to differ from another ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it , why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it ?
8พวกคุณอิ่มแล้ว! พวกคุณร่ำรวยแล้ว! พวกคุณขึ้นครองอำนาจโดยไม่มีเราแล้ว! ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้พวกคุณได้ครองจริง ๆ เพื่อเราจะได้ครองร่วมกับพวกคุณด้วย!
8Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
9เพราะข้าพเจ้าคิดว่า พระเจ้าทรงจัดให้เราพวกอัครทูตอยู่ท้ายสุด เหมือนคนที่ถูกตัดสินประหารชีวิต เพราะเรากลายเป็นภาพที่ทั้งโลก ทูตสวรรค์ และมนุษย์ต่างจับจ้องดู
9For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
10เราเป็นคนโง่เพราะเห็นแก่พระคริสต์ แต่พวกคุณเป็นคนมีปัญญาในพระคริสต์ เราอ่อนแอ แต่พวกคุณเข้มแข็ง พวกคุณได้รับเกียรติ แต่เราถูกดูหมิ่น
10We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
11จนถึงเวลานี้ เรายังหิว กระหาย ขาดแคลนเสื้อผ้า ถูกทุบตี และไม่มีที่อยู่เป็นหลักแหล่ง
11Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
12เราทำงานหนักด้วยมือของเราเอง เมื่อถูกด่า เราก็อวยพร เมื่อถูกข่มเหง เราก็อดทน
12And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
13เมื่อถูกใส่ร้าย เราก็ขอร้องด้วยดี เราถูกมองเหมือนเศษสกปรกของโลก เหมือนคราบที่ทุกคนเช็ดทิ้ง จนถึงบัดนี้
13Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
14ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้เขียนเรื่องเหล่านี้เพื่อทำให้พวกคุณอับอาย แต่เพื่อเตือนพวกคุณในฐานะลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า
14I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you .
15เพราะถึงแม้พวกคุณจะมีผู้ดูแลอบรมนับหมื่นคนในพระคริสต์ แต่พวกคุณก็มีพ่อไม่มาก เพราะในพระเยซูคริสต์ ข้าพเจ้าได้เป็นพ่อของพวกคุณผ่านข่าวดี
15For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
16ดังนั้น ข้าพเจ้าขอร้องพวกคุณ จงเอาข้าพเจ้าเป็นแบบอย่าง
16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
17ด้วยเหตุนี้ ข้าพเจ้าจึงส่งทิโมธีไปหาพวกคุณ เขาเป็นลูกที่รักและซื่อสัตย์ของข้าพเจ้าในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เขาจะเตือนให้พวกคุณระลึกถึงวิถีของข้าพเจ้าในพระคริสต์ ตามที่ข้าพเจ้าสอนอยู่ทุกแห่งในทุกประชาคม
17For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
18บางคนหยิ่งผยองขึ้นมา เหมือนกับว่าข้าพเจ้าจะไม่มาหาพวกคุณ
18Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
19แต่ถ้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงอนุญาต ข้าพเจ้าจะมาหาพวกคุณในไม่ช้า แล้วข้าพเจ้าจะได้รู้ ไม่ใช่เพียงคำพูดของคนที่หยิ่งผยอง แต่พลังของพวกเขา
19But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
20เพราะอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าไม่ได้อยู่ที่คำพูด แต่อยู่ที่พลัง
20For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
21พวกคุณต้องการแบบไหน? จะให้ข้าพเจ้ามาหาพวกคุณพร้อมไม้เรียว หรือมาด้วยความรักและจิตใจที่อ่อนโยน?
21What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
