1เมื่อคนหนึ่งในพวกคุณมีข้อพิพาทกับอีกคนหนึ่ง เขากล้านำคดีไปให้คนไม่ชอบธรรมตัดสิน แทนที่จะให้ผู้บริสุทธิ์ตัดสินหรือ?
1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า ผู้บริสุทธิ์จะตัดสินโลก? และถ้าพวกคุณจะตัดสินโลก พวกคุณไม่คู่ควรแม้แต่จะตัดสินเรื่องเล็กน้อยที่สุดหรือ?
2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า เราจะตัดสินทูตสวรรค์? ถ้าอย่างนั้น เรายิ่งตัดสินเรื่องของชีวิตนี้ได้ไม่ใช่หรือ?
3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4ถ้าพวกคุณมีเรื่องในชีวิตนี้ที่ต้องตัดสิน พวกคุณจะตั้งคนที่ประชาคมไม่เห็นความสำคัญให้มาเป็นผู้ตัดสินหรือ?
4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5ข้าพเจ้าพูดอย่างนี้เพื่อให้พวกคุณรู้สึกละอาย ในหมู่พวกคุณไม่มีคนมีปัญญาสักคนที่สามารถตัดสินข้อพิพาทระหว่างพี่น้องได้เลยหรือ?
5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6แต่กลับเป็นว่าพี่น้องฟ้องพี่น้อง และยังไปฟ้องต่อหน้าคนที่ไม่เชื่ออีก!
6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7ที่จริง การที่พวกคุณมีคดีความต่อกันก็เป็นความพ่ายแพ้ของพวกคุณอยู่แล้ว ทำไมไม่ยอมให้คนอื่นทำผิดต่อพวกคุณ? ทำไมไม่ยอมถูกโกง?
7Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8แต่พวกคุณเองกลับทำผิดและโกงคนอื่น แถมยังทำกับพี่น้องของตนเองด้วย
8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
9พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า คนไม่ชอบธรรมจะไม่ได้รับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเป็นมรดก? อย่าหลงผิด คนผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ คนไหว้รูปเคารพ คนล่วงประเวณี ผู้ชายที่ขายบริการทางเพศ หรือผู้ที่มีเพศสัมพันธ์กับคนเพศเดียวกัน
9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10คนขโมย คนโลภ คนเมาสุรา คนใส่ร้าย และคนกรรโชก จะไม่ได้รับอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเป็นมรดก
10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11บางคนในพวกคุณเคยเป็นเช่นนั้น แต่พวกคุณได้รับการชำระล้างแล้ว ได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์แล้ว และได้รับความชอบธรรมแล้ว ในพระนามของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และโดยพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าของเรา
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
12“ข้าพเจ้ามีสิทธิ์ทำทุกสิ่ง” แต่ไม่ใช่ทุกสิ่งที่เป็นประโยชน์ “ข้าพเจ้ามีสิทธิ์ทำทุกสิ่ง” แต่ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ยอมอยู่ใต้อำนาจของสิ่งใด
12All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
13“อาหารมีไว้สำหรับท้อง และท้องมีไว้สำหรับอาหาร” แต่พระเจ้าจะทรงทำให้ทั้งท้องและอาหารหมดไป ส่วนร่างกายไม่ได้มีไว้สำหรับการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ แต่มีไว้สำหรับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงมีไว้สำหรับร่างกาย
13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
14พระเจ้าทรงให้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าฟื้นขึ้นจากความตาย และจะทรงให้เราฟื้นขึ้นด้วยพลังของพระองค์
14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
15พวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า ร่างกายของพวกคุณแต่ละคนเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพระคริสต์? แล้วข้าพเจ้าจะเอาส่วนหนึ่งของพระคริสต์ไปทำให้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของหญิงโสเภณีหรือ? ไม่มีทาง!
15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16หรือพวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า คนที่ผูกพันกับหญิงโสเภณีก็เป็นกายเดียวกับเธอ? เพราะพระองค์กล่าวว่า “ทั้งสองจะเป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน”
16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17แต่คนที่ผูกพันกับองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าก็เป็นวิญญาณเดียวกับพระองค์
17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18จงหนีจากการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ! “บาปทุกอย่างที่มนุษย์ทำอยู่นอกร่างกาย” แต่คนที่ผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศทำบาปต่อร่างกายของตนเอง
18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19หรือพวกคุณไม่รู้หรือว่า ร่างกายของพวกคุณเป็นวิหารของพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ผู้อยู่ในพวกคุณ ซึ่งพวกคุณได้รับมาจากพระเจ้า? พวกคุณไม่ใช่เจ้าของตัวเอง
19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20เพราะพวกคุณถูกซื้อไว้ด้วยราคา ดังนั้น จงถวายพระสิริแด่พระเจ้าด้วยร่างกายและจิตวิญญาณของพวกคุณ ซึ่งเป็นของพระเจ้า
20For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
