1Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
1พี่น้อง ความปรารถนาในใจของข้าพเจ้า และคำอธิษฐานของข้าพเจ้าต่อพระเจ้าเพื่ออิสราเอล คือขอให้พวกเขาได้รับความรอด
2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
2เพราะข้าพเจ้าเป็นพยานได้ว่า พวกเขามีความกระตือรือร้นเพื่อพระเจ้า แต่ความกระตือรือร้นนั้นไม่สอดคล้องกับความรู้
3For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
3เพราะพวกเขาไม่รู้จักความชอบธรรมของพระเจ้า และพยายามตั้งความชอบธรรมของตนเองขึ้น จึงไม่ยอมอยู่ใต้ความชอบธรรมของพระเจ้า
4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
4เพราะพระคริสต์ทรงเป็นความสำเร็จสมบูรณ์ของธรรมบัญญัติ เพื่อให้ทุกคนที่เชื่อได้รับความชอบธรรม
5For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
5เพราะโมเสสเขียนถึงความชอบธรรมที่มาจากธรรมบัญญัติว่า “ผู้ที่ทำตามสิ่งเหล่านี้จะมีชีวิตโดยสิ่งเหล่านี้”
6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above :)
6แต่ความชอบธรรมที่มาจากความเชื่อกล่าวว่า “อย่าพูดในใจของท่านว่า ‘ใครจะขึ้นไปบนสวรรค์’” คือเพื่อจะนำพระคริสต์ลงมา
7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
7หรือ “ใครจะลงไปในเหวลึก” คือเพื่อจะนำพระคริสต์ขึ้นมาจากความตาย
8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
8แต่ความชอบธรรมนั้นกล่าวว่าอย่างไร “ถ้อยคำอยู่ใกล้ท่าน อยู่ในปากของท่าน และอยู่ในใจของท่าน” คือถ้อยคำแห่งความเชื่อที่เราประกาศ
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
9เพราะถ้าท่านกล่าวยอมรับด้วยปากว่า พระเยซูทรงเป็นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และเชื่อในใจว่า พระเจ้าทรงทำให้พระองค์ฟื้นขึ้นจากความตาย ท่านจะได้รับความรอด
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
10เพราะคนเราเชื่อด้วยใจ จึงได้รับความชอบธรรม และกล่าวยอมรับด้วยปาก จึงได้รับความรอด
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
11เพราะพระคัมภีร์กล่าวว่า “ทุกคนที่เชื่อในพระองค์จะไม่ผิดหวัง”
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
12เพราะไม่มีความแตกต่างระหว่างชาวยิวกับชาวกรีก องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าองค์เดียวกันทรงเป็นเจ้าเหนือทุกคน และทรงอุดมบริบูรณ์สำหรับทุกคนที่ร้องเรียกพระองค์
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
13เพราะ “ทุกคนที่ร้องเรียกพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะได้รับความรอด”
14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
14ถ้าอย่างนั้น พวกเขาจะร้องเรียกพระองค์ได้อย่างไร ถ้ายังไม่เชื่อในพระองค์ และจะเชื่อในพระองค์ได้อย่างไร ถ้ายังไม่เคยได้ยินพระองค์ และจะได้ยินได้อย่างไร ถ้าไม่มีผู้ประกาศ
15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
15และพวกเขาจะประกาศได้อย่างไร ถ้าไม่ได้ถูกส่งไป ดังที่มีเขียนไว้ว่า “เท้าของผู้ประกาศข่าวดีแห่งสันติสุขช่างงดงาม ผู้นำข่าวน่ายินดีเรื่องสิ่งดีทั้งหลายมา!”
16But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
16แต่ไม่ใช่ทุกคนที่ได้ฟังข่าวน่ายินดี เพราะอิสยาห์กล่าวว่า “องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ใครได้เชื่อข่าวที่พวกเรานำมา”
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
17เพราะฉะนั้น ความเชื่อเกิดจากการได้ยิน และการได้ยินเกิดจากถ้อยคำของพระเจ้า
18But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
18แต่ข้าพเจ้าถามว่า พวกเขาไม่ได้ยินหรือ ได้ยินแน่นอน “เสียงของพวกเขาออกไปทั่วแผ่นดินโลก และถ้อยคำของพวกเขาไปถึงสุดปลายโลก”
19But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
19แต่ข้าพเจ้าถามอีกว่า อิสราเอลไม่รู้หรือ ก่อนอื่น โมเสสกล่าวว่า “เราจะทำให้พวกเจ้าอิจฉาด้วยชนชาติที่ไม่เป็นชนชาติ เราจะทำให้พวกเจ้าโกรธด้วยชนชาติที่ไร้ความเข้าใจ”
20But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
20และอิสยาห์กล้ากล่าวอย่างตรงไปตรงมาว่า “คนที่ไม่ได้แสวงหาเรากลับพบเรา เราปรากฏแก่คนที่ไม่ได้ถามหาเรา”
21But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
21แต่เกี่ยวกับอิสราเอล พระองค์กล่าวว่า “ตลอดทั้งวัน เรายื่นมือออกไปหาประชาชนที่ไม่เชื่อฟังและขัดขืน”
