1In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
1ในเดือนที่แปด ปีที่สองแห่งรัชกาลดาริอัส ถ้อยคำของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงเศคาริยาห์ผู้ประกาศสาส์น บุตรของเบเรคิยาห์ บุตรของอิดโด ว่า
2The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
2“พระยาห์เวห์โกรธบรรพบุรุษของพวกคุณอย่างยิ่ง
3Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.
3ฉะนั้น จงบอกพวกเขาว่า พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวดังนี้ ‘จงกลับมาหาเรา’ พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว ‘แล้วเราจะกลับมาหาพวกคุณ’ พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว
4Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD .
4อย่าเป็นเหมือนบรรพบุรุษของพวกคุณ ผู้ประกาศสาส์นในอดีตเคยประกาศแก่พวกเขาว่า พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว ‘จงหันกลับจากทางชั่วและการกระทำชั่วของพวกคุณเสียเดี๋ยวนี้’ แต่พวกเขาไม่ฟัง ไม่ยอมรับฟังเรา พระยาห์เวห์กล่าว
5Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

6But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
6แต่เราได้สั่งผู้ประกาศสาส์นผู้รับใช้ของเราให้ประกาศคำกล่าวและข้อกำหนดของเรา คำและข้อกำหนดเหล่านั้นไม่ได้เป็นจริงกับบรรพบุรุษของพวกคุณหรือ? แล้วพวกเขาก็กลับใจและพูดว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพตั้งใจจะทำกับพวกเราอย่างไร ตามทางที่เราเดินและการกระทำของเรา พระองค์ก็ทำกับเราอย่างนั้นจริง ๆ’”
7¶ Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
7วันที่ยี่สิบสี่ของเดือนที่สิบเอ็ด คือเดือนเชบัท ปีที่สองแห่งรัชกาลดาริอัส ถ้อยคำของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงเศคาริยาห์ผู้ประกาศสาส์น บุตรของเบเรคิยาห์ บุตรของอิดโด ว่า
8I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
8“ข้าพเจ้าเห็นนิมิตในเวลากลางคืน ดูเถิด มีชายคนหนึ่งขี่ม้าสีแดง เขายืนอยู่ท่ามกลางต้นเมอร์เทิลในหุบลึก ข้างหลังเขามีม้าสีแดง สีน้ำตาล และสีขาว
9Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be .
9ข้าพเจ้าถามว่า ‘ท่าน สิ่งเหล่านี้คืออะไร?’” ทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับข้าพเจ้าบอกว่า “เราจะให้คุณเห็นว่าสิ่งเหล่านี้คืออะไร”
10And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
10ชายที่ยืนอยู่ท่ามกลางต้นเมอร์เทิลตอบว่า “พวกเขาคือผู้ที่พระยาห์เวห์ส่งให้ตระเวนไปทั่วโลก”
11And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
11พวกเขารายงานต่อทูตสวรรค์ของพระยาห์เวห์ที่ยืนอยู่ท่ามกลางต้นเมอร์เทิลว่า “พวกเราเดินตระเวนไปทั่วโลกแล้ว และเห็นว่าทั่วโลกสงบสุข ไม่มีความวุ่นวาย”
12¶ Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
12ทูตสวรรค์ของพระยาห์เวห์จึงกล่าวว่า “พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพ พระองค์จะยังไม่เมตตาเยรูซาเล็มและเมืองต่าง ๆ ของยูดาห์ไปอีกนานเท่าไร? พระองค์โกรธเมืองเหล่านี้มาเจ็ดสิบปีแล้ว”
13And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words.
13พระยาห์เวห์ตอบทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับข้าพเจ้าด้วยคำอ่อนโยนและปลอบใจ
14So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
14ทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับข้าพเจ้าจึงบอกว่า “จงประกาศว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวดังนี้ “เราหวงแหนเยรูซาเล็มและศิโยนอย่างยิ่ง
15And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
15เราโกรธชนชาติต่าง ๆ ที่อยู่อย่างสบายใจเป็นอย่างมาก เพราะเราโกรธเพียงเล็กน้อย แต่พวกเขากลับซ้ำเติมให้หายนะหนักขึ้น”
16Therefore thus saith the LORD ; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
16ฉะนั้น พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “เรากลับมายังเยรูซาเล็มด้วยความเมตตาแล้ว จะมีการสร้างวิหารของเราขึ้นที่นั่น” พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าว “และจะขึงเชือกวัดเหนือเยรูซาเล็ม”’
17Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
17จงประกาศต่อไปว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์จอมทัพกล่าวดังนี้ “เมืองต่าง ๆ ของเราจะเปี่ยมล้นด้วยความรุ่งเรืองอีกครั้ง พระยาห์เวห์จะปลอบใจศิโยนอีกครั้ง และจะเลือกเยรูซาเล็มอีกครั้ง”’”
18¶ Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
18ข้าพเจ้าเงยหน้ามอง เห็นเขาสัตว์สี่เขา
19And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
19จึงถามทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับข้าพเจ้าว่า “สิ่งเหล่านี้คืออะไร?” เขาตอบว่า “นี่คือเขาสัตว์ที่ทำให้ยูดาห์ อิสราเอล และเยรูซาเล็มกระจัดกระจายไป”
20And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
20พระยาห์เวห์ให้ข้าพเจ้าเห็นช่างฝีมือสี่คน
21Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
21ข้าพเจ้าถามว่า “คนเหล่านี้มาทำอะไร?” เขาตอบว่า “นี่คือเขาสัตว์ที่ทำให้ยูดาห์กระจัดกระจาย จนไม่มีใครเงยหน้าขึ้นได้ แต่คนเหล่านี้มาเพื่อทำให้เขาสัตว์เหล่านั้นหวาดกลัว และโค่นเขาของชนชาติต่าง ๆ ที่ชูเขาขึ้นต่อสู้กับแผ่นดินยูดาห์ เพื่อทำให้ยูดาห์กระจัดกระจายไป”
