1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
1เพราะฉะนั้น ท่านที่ตัดสินคนอื่น ไม่ว่าท่านจะเป็นใคร ก็ไม่มีข้อแก้ตัว เพราะเมื่อท่านตัดสินคนอื่น ท่านก็ตัดสินตนเอง เพราะท่านผู้ตัดสินก็ทำสิ่งเดียวกัน
2But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
2พวกเรารู้ว่า การพิพากษาของพระเจ้าต่อคนที่ทำสิ่งเหล่านี้เป็นไปตามความจริง
3And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
3ท่านที่ตัดสินคนซึ่งทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ แต่ตัวท่านเองก็ทำเหมือนกัน ท่านคิดหรือว่าจะหนีพ้นการพิพากษาของพระเจ้าได้
4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
4หรือท่านดูหมิ่นความดีอันมากมาย ความอดกลั้น และความอดทนของพระองค์ โดยไม่รู้ว่าความดีของพระเจ้ากำลังนำท่านไปสู่การกลับใจ
5But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
5แต่เพราะใจแข็งกระด้างและไม่ยอมกลับใจ ท่านกำลังสะสมความโกรธไว้ให้ตนเอง สำหรับวันแห่งความโกรธ เมื่อการพิพากษาอันชอบธรรมของพระเจ้าจะถูกเปิดเผย
6Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
6พระองค์ “จะตอบแทนทุกคนตามการกระทำของเขา”
7To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
7สำหรับผู้ที่พากเพียรทำความดี และแสวงหาพระสิริ เกียรติ และความไม่เสื่อมสลาย พระองค์จะประทานชีวิตนิรันดร์
8But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
8แต่สำหรับผู้ที่เห็นแก่ตัว ไม่เชื่อฟังความจริง แต่เชื่อฟังความไม่ชอบธรรม จะได้รับความโกรธและความเดือดดาล
9Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
9ความทุกข์ยากและความคับแค้นจะเกิดแก่ทุกคนที่ทำชั่ว แก่ชาวยิวก่อน และแก่ชาวกรีกด้วย
10But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
10แต่พระสิริ เกียรติ และสันติสุข จะมีแก่ทุกคนที่ทำดี แก่ชาวยิวก่อน และแก่ชาวกรีกด้วย
11For there is no respect of persons with God.
11เพราะพระเจ้าไม่ทรงลำเอียง
12For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
12ทุกคนที่ทำบาปโดยไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ ก็จะพินาศโดยไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ และทุกคนที่ทำบาปขณะอยู่ใต้ธรรมบัญญัติ ก็จะถูกพิพากษาโดยธรรมบัญญัติ
13(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
13เพราะผู้ที่เพียงฟังธรรมบัญญัติไม่ใช่คนชอบธรรมต่อหน้าพระเจ้า แต่ผู้ที่ปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติต่างหากที่จะได้รับความชอบธรรม
14For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
14เพราะเมื่อคนต่างชาติที่ไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ ทำสิ่งที่ธรรมบัญญัติกำหนดโดยธรรมชาติ พวกเขาแม้ไม่มีธรรมบัญญัติ ก็เป็นธรรมบัญญัติให้แก่ตนเอง
15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
15พวกเขาแสดงให้เห็นว่า การกระทำที่ธรรมบัญญัติกำหนดนั้นถูกเขียนไว้ในใจของพวกเขา มโนธรรมของพวกเขาก็เป็นพยานร่วมด้วย และความคิดของพวกเขาก็กล่าวโทษหรือแก้ต่างกันเอง
16In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
16ทั้งหมดนี้จะปรากฏในวันที่พระเจ้าทรงพิพากษาความลับของมนุษย์ผ่านพระเยซูคริสต์ ตามข่าวดีของข้าพเจ้า
17Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
17แต่ถ้าท่านเรียกตนเองว่าชาวยิว พึ่งพาธรรมบัญญัติ และภูมิใจในพระเจ้า
18And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
18รู้ความประสงค์ของพระองค์ และเห็นชอบกับสิ่งที่ดีเลิศ เพราะได้รับการสั่งสอนจากธรรมบัญญัติ
19And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
19และมั่นใจว่าตนเองเป็นผู้นำทางคนตาบอด เป็นความสว่างแก่คนที่อยู่ในความมืด
20An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
20เป็นผู้แก้ไขคนโง่ เป็นครูของเด็กเล็ก เพราะมีแบบแผนแห่งความรู้และความจริงอยู่ในธรรมบัญญัติ
21Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
21แล้วท่านผู้สอนคนอื่น ไม่สอนตนเองหรือ ท่านผู้ประกาศว่าไม่ควรขโมย ตัวท่านขโมยหรือ
22Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
22ท่านผู้กล่าวว่าไม่ควรล่วงประเวณี ตัวท่านล่วงประเวณีหรือ ท่านผู้รังเกียจรูปเคารพ ตัวท่านปล้นวิหารหรือ
23Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?
23ท่านผู้ภูมิใจในธรรมบัญญัติ กลับทำให้พระเจ้าเสื่อมเกียรติด้วยการละเมิดธรรมบัญญัติหรือ
24For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
24เพราะมีเขียนไว้ว่า “พระนามของพระเจ้าถูกหมิ่นประมาทท่ามกลางคนต่างชาติเพราะพวกคุณ”
25For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
25การเข้าสุหนัตมีประโยชน์จริง ถ้าท่านปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติ แต่ถ้าท่านละเมิดธรรมบัญญัติ การเข้าสุหนัตของท่านก็ไม่ต่างจากการไม่ได้เข้าสุหนัต
26Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
26ดังนั้น ถ้าคนที่ไม่ได้เข้าสุหนัตรักษาข้อกำหนดของธรรมบัญญัติ การที่เขาไม่ได้เข้าสุหนัตจะไม่ถูกนับว่าเป็นการเข้าสุหนัตหรือ
27And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
27คนที่ร่างกายไม่ได้เข้าสุหนัต แต่ปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติ จะไม่ตัดสินท่านหรือ ท่านผู้มีทั้งตัวบทและการเข้าสุหนัต แต่ยังละเมิดธรรมบัญญัติ
28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
28เพราะคนที่เป็นยิวเพียงภายนอก ไม่ใช่ยิวที่แท้ และการเข้าสุหนัตที่เห็นเพียงภายนอกบนร่างกาย ก็ไม่ใช่การเข้าสุหนัตที่แท้
29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
29แต่คนที่เป็นยิวภายในต่างหากคือยิวที่แท้ และการเข้าสุหนัตที่แท้คือการเข้าสุหนัตของใจ โดยวิญญาณ ไม่ใช่โดยตัวบท คนเช่นนี้ได้รับคำยกย่อง ไม่ใช่จากมนุษย์ แต่จากพระเจ้า
