1Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
1เมื่ออาโดนีเซเดกกษัตริย์แห่งเยรูซาเล็มได้ยินข่าวว่าโยชูวายึดเมืองอัยและทำลายล้างจนหมดสิ้น โดยทำกับเมืองอัยและกษัตริย์เหมือนที่เคยทำกับเยรีโคและกษัตริย์ของเมือง อาโดนีเซเดกยังได้ยินด้วยว่าชาวกิเบโอนทำข้อตกลงสันติภาพกับอิสราเอลและอาศัยอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกเขา
2that they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.

3Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying:
3ดังนั้นอาโดนีเซเดกกษัตริย์แห่งเยรูซาเล็มจึงส่งข่าวไปหาโฮฮัมกษัตริย์แห่งเฮโบรน ปิรามกษัตริย์แห่งยารมูท ยาฟีอากษัตริย์แห่งลาคีช และเดบีร์กษัตริย์แห่งเอกโลนว่า
4'Come up unto me, and help me, and let us smite Gibeon; for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.'
4“จงขึ้นมาช่วยเรา ให้พวกเราโจมตีกิเบโอน เพราะพวกเขาทำข้อตกลงสันติภาพกับโยชูวาและชาวอิสราเอล”
5Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.
5กษัตริย์ชาวอาโมไรต์ทั้งห้า ได้แก่กษัตริย์แห่งเยรูซาเล็ม กษัตริย์แห่งเฮโบรน กษัตริย์แห่งยารมูท กษัตริย์แห่งลาคีช และกษัตริย์แห่งเอกโลน จึงรวมกำลังกัน พวกเขากับกองทัพทั้งหมดขึ้นไปตั้งค่ายล้อมกิเบโอนและทำสงครามกับเมืองนั้น
6And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying: 'Slack not thy hands from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country are gathered together against us.'
6ชาวกิเบโอนส่งข่าวไปหาโยชูวาที่ค่ายในกิลกาลว่า “อย่าทอดทิ้งผู้รับใช้ของท่าน! รีบขึ้นมาช่วยพวกเราให้รอด! โปรดช่วยพวกเรา เพราะกษัตริย์ชาวอาโมไรต์ทั้งหมดที่อาศัยอยู่ในเขตภูเขาได้รวมกำลังกันมาต่อสู้กับพวกเรา”
7So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
7โยชูวาจึงขึ้นจากกิลกาลพร้อมกับกองทัพทั้งหมด รวมทั้งบรรดานักรบผู้กล้าหาญ
8And the LORD said unto Joshua: 'Fear them not; for I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand against thee.'
8พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโยชูวาว่า “อย่ากลัวพวกเขา เพราะเราได้มอบพวกเขาให้เจ้าแล้ว จะไม่มีใครในพวกเขายืนหยัดต่อหน้าเจ้าได้”
9Joshua therefore came upon them suddenly; for he went up from Gilgal all the night.
9โยชูวาเดินทัพจากกิลกาลตลอดทั้งคืนและเข้าโจมตีพวกเขาอย่างกะทันหัน
10And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon; and they chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

11And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died; they were more who died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

12Then spoke Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel: 'Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Aijalon.'
12ในวันที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงมอบชาวอาโมไรต์ไว้ต่อหน้าชาวอิสราเอล โยชูวาพูดกับพระยาห์เวห์ และกล่าวต่อหน้าอิสราเอลว่า “ดวงอาทิตย์เอ๋ย จงหยุดนิ่งเหนือกิเบโอน! ดวงจันทร์เอ๋ย จงหยุดในหุบเขาอัยยาโลน!”
13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
13ดวงอาทิตย์หยุดนิ่ง และดวงจันทร์หยุดอยู่ จนชนชาตินั้นแก้แค้นศัตรูของตนเสร็จ เรื่องนี้เขียนไว้ในหนังสือยาชาร์ไม่ใช่หรือ? ดวงอาทิตย์หยุดอยู่กลางท้องฟ้า ไม่ตกดินเป็นเวลาประมาณหนึ่งวันเต็ม
14And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.
14ไม่เคยมีวันใดเป็นเช่นนั้นมาก่อนหรือหลังจากนั้น คือวันที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงฟังเสียงของมนุษย์ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทรงต่อสู้เพื่ออิสราเอล
15And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
15แล้วโยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดกลับไปยังค่ายในกิลกาล
16And these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah.
16กษัตริย์ทั้งห้าหลบหนีและซ่อนตัวอยู่ในถ้ำที่มักเคดาห์
17And it was told Joshua, saying: 'The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.'
17มีคนรายงานโยชูวาว่า “พบกษัตริย์ทั้งห้าแล้ว พวกเขาซ่อนตัวอยู่ในถ้ำที่มักเคดาห์”
18And Joshua said: 'Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to keep them;

19but stay not ye; pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities; for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.'
19แต่พวกท่านอย่าหยุดอยู่ที่นั่น จงไล่ตามศัตรูและโจมตีพวกเขาจากด้านหลัง อย่าปล่อยให้พวกเขาเข้าเมืองของตนได้ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของพวกท่านทรงมอบพวกเขาให้พวกท่านแล้ว”
20And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,
20เมื่อโยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลสังหารศัตรูเป็นจำนวนมากจนฝ่ายนั้นแทบหมดสิ้น และผู้ที่เหลือรอดหนีเข้าไปในเมืองที่มีป้อมปราการแล้ว
21that all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace; none whetted his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
21ชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดก็กลับมาหาโยชูวาที่ค่ายในมักเคดาห์โดยสวัสดิภาพ ไม่มีใครเอ่ยปากกล่าวร้ายชาวอิสราเอลคนใดเลย
22Then said Joshua: 'Open the mouth of the cave, and bring forth those five kings unto me out of the cave.'
22แล้วโยชูวาสั่งว่า “จงเปิดปากถ้ำและนำกษัตริย์ทั้งห้านั้นออกมาหาข้าพเจ้า”
23And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.
23พวกเขาทำตามและนำกษัตริย์ทั้งห้าออกจากถ้ำมาหาโยชูวา ได้แก่กษัตริย์แห่งเยรูซาเล็ม กษัตริย์แห่งเฮโบรน กษัตริย์แห่งยารมูท กษัตริย์แห่งลาคีช และกษัตริย์แห่งเอกโลน
24And it came to pass, when they brought forth those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the chiefs of the men of war that went with him: 'Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings.' And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.
24เมื่อพวกเขานำกษัตริย์เหล่านั้นมาหาโยชูวาแล้ว โยชูวาเรียกชายชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดมา และพูดกับบรรดาหัวหน้าของนักรบที่ไปกับเขาว่า “จงเข้ามาใกล้และวางเท้าบนคอของกษัตริย์เหล่านี้” พวกเขาจึงเข้ามาใกล้และวางเท้าบนคอของกษัตริย์เหล่านั้น
25And Joshua said unto them: 'Fear not, nor be dismayed; be strong and of good courage; for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.'
25โยชูวาพูดกับพวกเขาว่า “อย่ากลัวและอย่าท้อใจ จงเข้มแข็งและกล้าหาญ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์จะทรงทำเช่นนี้กับศัตรูทั้งหมดที่พวกท่านต่อสู้ด้วย”
26And afterward Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees; and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
26หลังจากนั้นโยชูวาลงมือสังหารกษัตริย์เหล่านั้น แล้วแขวนร่างไว้บนต้นไม้ห้าต้น ร่างของพวกเขาแขวนอยู่บนต้นไม้จนถึงเวลาเย็น
27And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had hidden themselves, and laid great stones on the mouth of the cave, unto this very day.
27เมื่อดวงอาทิตย์ตก โยชูวาสั่งให้เอาศพลงจากต้นไม้ แล้วโยนเข้าไปในถ้ำที่กษัตริย์เหล่านั้นเคยซ่อนตัวอยู่ จากนั้นพวกเขาวางก้อนหินใหญ่ปิดปากถ้ำ ซึ่งยังคงอยู่จนถึงทุกวันนี้
28And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof; he utterly destroyed them and all the souls that were therein, he left none remaining; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
28ในวันนั้นโยชูวายึดมักเคดาห์ และใช้ดาบโจมตีเมืองรวมทั้งกษัตริย์ของเมือง เขาทำลายล้างเมืองและทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมืองจนหมดสิ้น ไม่เหลือใครรอด เขาทำกับกษัตริย์แห่งมักเคดาห์เหมือนที่ทำกับกษัตริย์แห่งเยรีโค
29And Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah.
29โยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดออกจากมักเคดาห์ไปยังลิบนาห์ และต่อสู้กับเมืองลิบนาห์
30And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining in it; and he did unto the king thereof as he had done unto the king of Jericho.
30พระยาห์เวห์ทรงมอบเมืองพร้อมกษัตริย์ให้อิสราเอลด้วย โยชูวาโจมตีเมืองนั้นและใช้ดาบสังหารทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมือง ไม่เหลือใครรอด เขาทำกับกษัตริย์ของเมืองเหมือนที่ทำกับกษัตริย์แห่งเยรีโค
31And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it.
31โยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดออกจากลิบนาห์ไปยังลาคีช ตั้งค่ายล้อมเมืองและต่อสู้กับเมืองนั้น
32And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
32พระยาห์เวห์ทรงมอบลาคีชให้อิสราเอล โยชูวายึดเมืองได้ในวันที่สอง แล้วโจมตีเมืองและใช้ดาบสังหารทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมือง ตามทุกสิ่งที่เขาได้ทำกับลิบนาห์
33Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
33แล้วโฮรามกษัตริย์แห่งเกเซอร์ขึ้นมาช่วยลาคีช แต่โยชูวาโจมตีเขาและประชาชนของเขาจนไม่เหลือใครรอด
34And Joshua passed from Lachish, and all Israel with him, unto Eglon; and they encamped against it, and fought against it.
34โยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดออกจากลาคีชไปยังเอกโลน พวกเขาตั้งค่ายล้อมเมืองและต่อสู้กับเมืองนั้น
35And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

36And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it.
36โยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดขึ้นจากเอกโลนไปยังเฮโบรน และต่อสู้กับเมืองนั้น
37And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls that were therein.
37พวกเขายึดเมืองได้ แล้วโจมตีเมืองนั้น กษัตริย์ และเมืองบริวารทั้งหมดด้วยดาบ พร้อมทั้งสังหารทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมือง โยชูวาไม่ปล่อยให้ใครรอดชีวิตเลย ตามที่เขาได้ทำกับเอกโลน เขาทำลายล้างเมืองและทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมืองจนหมดสิ้น
38And Joshua turned back, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it.
38โยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดย้อนกลับไปยังเดบีร์ และต่อสู้กับเมืองนั้น
39And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining; as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to the king thereof.
39เขายึดเมืองพร้อมกับกษัตริย์และเมืองบริวารทั้งหมด ชาวอิสราเอลใช้ดาบฟันพวกเขา และทำลายล้างทุกชีวิตที่อยู่ในเมืองจนหมดสิ้น ไม่เหลือใครรอด โยชูวาทำกับเดบีร์และกษัตริย์เหมือนที่ทำกับเฮโบรน และเหมือนที่ทำกับลิบนาห์และกษัตริย์
40So Joshua smote all the land, the hill-country, and the South, and the Lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining; but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded.
40ดังนั้นโยชูวาจึงโจมตีทั่วทั้งแผ่นดิน ได้แก่เขตภูเขา ดินแดนทางใต้ ที่ราบต่ำ เชิงเขา และกษัตริย์ทั้งหมด เขาไม่เหลือใครรอด แต่ทำลายล้างทุกสิ่งที่มีลมหายใจจนหมดสิ้น ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลทรงบัญชา
41And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.
41โยชูวาโจมตีพวกเขาตั้งแต่คาเดชบาร์เนียไปจนถึงกาซา และทั่วแคว้นโกเชนไปจนถึงกิเบโอน
42And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.
42โยชูวายึดกษัตริย์เหล่านี้ทั้งหมดกับแผ่นดินของพวกเขาได้ในคราวเดียว เพราะพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของอิสราเอลทรงต่อสู้เพื่ออิสราเอล
43And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal.
43แล้วโยชูวากับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดกลับไปยังค่ายในกิลกาล
