1主はモーセに告げられた。
1And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
2「さらに、イスラエルの子らに言いなさい。『イスラエルの子ら、あるいはイスラエルに住む寄留者のうち、自分の子孫をモレクに渡す者はだれでも、必ず死刑に処される。その地の民はその人を石で打ち殺す。
2Moreover, thou shalt say to the children of Israel: Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
3わたしもその人に顔を向け、彼を自分の民の中から断つ。彼が自分の子孫をモレクに渡し、わたしの聖所を汚し、わたしの聖なる御名を汚したからである。
3I also will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people, because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile My sanctuary, and to profane My holy name.
4もしその人が子孫をモレクに渡したとき、その地の民が見て見ぬふりをし、彼を死刑にしないなら、
4And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and put him not to death;
5わたしはその男とその家族に顔を向け、彼を民の中から断つ。また、彼にならってモレクを慕い、淫行を行う者たちも皆、その民の中から断つ。
5then I will set My face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go astray after him, to go astray after Molech, from among their people.
6『霊媒や占い師に頼り、彼らを慕って淫行を行う者には、わたしは顔を向け、その者を民の中から断つ。
6And the soul that turneth unto the ghosts, and unto the familiar spirits, to go astray after them, I will even set My face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
7『それゆえ、自らを聖別し、聖なる者となりなさい。わたしはあなたがたの神、主だからである。
7Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am the LORD your God.
8あなたがたはわたしの掟を守り、それらを行いなさい。わたしはあなたがたを聖別する主である。
8And keep ye My statutes, and do them: I am the LORD who sanctify you.
9『自分の父や母を呪う者はだれでも、必ず死刑に処されるからである。彼は自分の父や母を呪った。その血の責任は彼自身が負う。
9For whatsoever man there be that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
10『他の男の妻と姦淫する男、すなわち自分の隣人の妻と姦淫する者は、姦淫した男も姦淫した女も、必ず死刑に処される。
10And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
11『父の妻と寝る男は、父の裸を暴いたのである。彼らは二人とも必ず死刑に処される。その血の責任は彼ら自身が負う。
11And the man that lieth with his father's wife — he hath uncovered his father's nakedness — both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
12『男が息子の妻と寝るなら、彼らは二人とも必ず死刑に処される。彼らは倒錯した行為を行ったのである。その血の責任は彼ら自身が負う。
12And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have wrought corruption; their blood shall be upon them.
13『男が女と寝るように男と寝るなら、彼らは二人とも忌まわしいことを行ったのである。彼らは必ず死刑に処される。その血の責任は彼ら自身が負う。
13And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
14『男が妻とその母をめとるなら、それは邪悪なことである。彼も彼女たちも火で焼く。あなたがたの間に邪悪なことがないためである。
14And if a man take with his wife also her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.
15『男が動物と寝るなら、彼は必ず死刑に処される。あなたがたはその動物も殺す。
15And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death; and ye shall slay the beast.
16『女がどんな動物にでも近づいてそれと交わるなら、あなたはその女とその動物を殺す。彼らは必ず死刑に処される。その血の責任は彼ら自身が負う。
16And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
17『男が自分の姉妹、すなわち父の娘、あるいは母の娘をめとり、彼女の裸を見て、彼女も彼の裸を見るなら、それは恥ずべきことである。彼らは彼らの民の子らの目の前で断たれる。彼は自分の姉妹の裸を暴いたのである。彼は自分の咎を負う。
17And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness: it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
18『男が月経中の女と寝て、彼女の裸を暴くなら、彼は彼女の血の源をあらわにし、彼女も自分の血の源をあらわにしたのである。二人はともにその民の中から断たれる。
18And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness — he hath made naked her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood — both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
19『母の姉妹、あるいは父の姉妹の裸を暴いてはならない。彼は自分の近親者をあらわにしたからである。彼らは自分たちの咎を負う。
19And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister; for he hath made naked his near kin; they shall bear their iniquity.
20男が叔父の妻と寝るなら、彼は叔父の裸を暴いたのである。彼らは自分たちの罪を負う。彼らは子どものないまま死ぬ。
20And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife — he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness — they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.
21『男が兄弟の妻をめとるなら、それは汚れたことである。彼は兄弟の裸を暴いたのである。彼らは子どものないままとなる。
21And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is impurity: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.
22『それゆえ、あなたがたはわたしのすべての掟とすべての法を守り、それらを行いなさい。わたしがあなたがたを導き入れて住まわせるその地が、あなたがたを吐き出さないためである。
22Ye shall therefore keep all My statutes, and all Mine ordinances, and do them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, vomit you not out.
23あなたがたは、わたしがあなたがたの前から追い出そうとしている国民の慣習に従って歩んではならない。彼らはこれらすべてのことを行ったため、わたしは彼らを忌み嫌ったのである。
23And ye shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
24しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言った。「あなたがたは彼らの地を受け継ぐ。わたしはそれをあなたがたに与えて所有させる。乳と蜜の流れる地である。」わたしはあなたがたを諸国の民から分けた、あなたがたの神、主である。
24But I have said unto you: 'Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey.' I am the LORD your God, who have set you apart from the peoples.
25『それゆえ、清い動物と汚れた動物、汚れた鳥と清い鳥とを区別しなさい。わたしがあなたがたのために汚れたものとして分けた動物、鳥、地を這うものによって、自分を忌まわしいものにしてはならない。
25Ye shall therefore separate between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean; and ye shall not make your souls detestable by beast, or by fowl, or by any thing wherewith the ground teemeth, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean.
26あなたがたはわたしにとって聖なる者となりなさい。主であるわたしは聖なる者であり、あなたがたがわたしのものとなるように、諸国の民からあなたがたをえり分けたからである。
26And ye shall be holy unto Me; for I the LORD am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that ye should be Mine.
27『霊媒師あるいは占い師である男または女は、必ず死刑に処される。彼らは石で打ち殺される。その血の責任は彼ら自身が負う。』」
27A man also or a woman that divineth by a ghost or a familiar spirit, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.
