1ソロモン王は全イスラエルを治めていた。
1And king Solomon was king over all Israel.
2彼の高官たちは次のとおりである。祭司、ツァドクの息子アザルヤ、
2And these were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;
3書記官、シシャの息子たちであるエリホレフとアヒヤ、記録官、アヒルデの息子ヨシャファテ、
3Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;
4軍の長、エホヤダの息子ベナヤ、祭司、ツァドクとアビアタル、
4and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
5代官たちの長、ナタンの息子アザルヤ、主要な大臣であり、王の友である、ナタンの息子ザブデ、
5and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister and the king's friend;
6宮内長、アヒシャル、強制労働に服する者たちの長、アブダの息子アドニラム。
6and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the levy.
7ソロモンは全イスラエルの上に十二人の役人を置いており、彼らが王とその家族のために食糧を供給した。それぞれが年に一か月、食糧を供給することになっていた。
7And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.
8彼らの名は次のとおりである。エフライムの山地のベン・フル、
8And these are their names: The son of Hur, in the hill-country of Ephraim;
9マカツ、シャアルビム、ベテ・シェメシュ、エロン・ベテ・ハナンのベン・デケル、
9the son of Deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan;
10アルボテのベン・ヘセド（彼にはソコとヘフェルの全地が属していた）、
10the son of Hesed, in Arubboth; to him pertained Socoh, and all the land of Hepher;
11ドルの全高地のベン・アビナダブ（彼はソロモンの娘タファテを妻としていた）、
11the son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife;
12タアナク、メギド、そしてエズレルの下にあるツァレタンのそばの全ベテ・シャン、すなわちベテ・シャンからアベル・メホラ、さらにヨクメアムの向こうに至るまでのアヒルデの息子バアナ、
12Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam;
13ラモテ・ギレアデのベン・ゲベル（彼にはギレアデにあるマナセの息子ヤイルの町々が属していた。また彼には、城壁と青銅のかんぬきを持つ六十の大きな町々があるバシャンのアルゴブの地方が属していた）、
13the son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him pertained the villages of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; even to him pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars;
14マハナイムのイドの息子アヒナダブ、
14Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15ナフタリのアヒマアツ（彼もソロモンの娘バセマトを妻としてめとっていた）、
15Ahimaaz, in Naphtali; he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon to wife;
16アシェルとベアロテのフシャイの息子バアナ、
16Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17イッサカルのパルアの息子ヨシャファテ、
17Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18ベニヤミンのエラの息子シメイ、
18Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;
19ウリの息子ゲベルは、ギレアデの地、すなわちアモリ人の王シホンの国とバシャンの王オグの国を担当した。この地には彼一人だけが役人として置かれていた。
19Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and one officer that was over all the officers in the land.
20ユダとイスラエルは海辺の砂のように数が多く、食べたり飲んだりして喜んでいた。
20Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.
21ソロモンは、大河からペリシテ人の地、さらにエジプトの国境に至るまでのすべての王国を治めた。彼らは貢ぎ物を携え、ソロモンの生涯を通じて彼に仕えた。
21(5-1) And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt; they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22ソロモンの一日分の食糧は、上等の小麦粉三十コル 、粗挽きの小麦粉六十コル、
22(5-2) And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal;
23肥えた牛十頭、牧草地の牛二十頭、羊百頭であり、このほかに鹿、ガゼル、ノロジカ、肥えた鳥もあった。
23(5-3) ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, beside harts, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fatted fowl.
24彼は大河の西側の全地方、ティフサからガザに至るまで、大河の西側のすべての王を支配し、四方に平和を得ていた。
24(5-4) For he had dominion over all the region on this side the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River; and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25ユダとイスラエルは、ソロモンの生涯にわたり、ダンからベエルシェバに至るまで、それぞれ自分のぶどうの木の下と、いちじくの木の下で安全に住んでいた。
25(5-5) And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26ソロモンには戦車用の馬の厩舎が四万と、騎兵が一万二千人いた。
26(5-6) And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27十二人の役人は、それぞれ担当の月に、ソロモン王と王の食卓に連なるすべての者の食糧を供給し、何一つ不足させなかった。
27(5-7) And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month; they let nothing be lacking.
28彼らはまた、それぞれが命じられたとおりに、馬や早馬のための大麦とわらを役人たちがいる場所に持って来た。
28(5-8) Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they unto the place where it should be, every man according to his charge.
29神はソロモンに、非常に豊かな知恵と悟り、海辺の砂のように広い心をお与えになった。
29(5-9) And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea-shore.
30ソロモンの知恵は、東のすべての子らの知恵と、エジプトのすべての知恵に勝っていた。
30(5-10) And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31彼はすべての人よりも賢く、エズラ人エタン、マホルの息子たちであるヘマン、カルコル、ダルダよりも賢かった。彼の名声は周囲のすべての国々に広まった。
31(5-11) For he was wiser than all men: than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the nations round about.
32彼は三千の箴言を語り、彼の歌は千五であった。
32(5-12) And he spoke three thousand proverbs; and his songs were a thousand and five.
33彼はレバノンにある杉から、城壁に生えるヒソプに至るまで、木々について語った。彼はまた、獣、鳥、這うもの、魚についても語った。
33(5-13) And he spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall; he spoke also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34あらゆる民の中から人々がソロモンの知恵を聞きに来た。彼の知恵を聞き及んだ地上のすべての王たちからも、人々が遣わされて来た。
34(5-14) And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
