1イスラエルの子らがエジプトの地を出てから四百八十年目、ソロモンがイスラエルを治めて四年目のジブの月、すなわち第二の月に、彼は主の家を建て始めた。
1And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
2ソロモン王が主のために建てた家は、長さが六十キュビト 、幅が二十キュビト、高さが三十キュビトであった。
2And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.
3神殿本体の前にある玄関は、長さが神殿の幅と同じ二十キュビト、神殿の正面から張り出す幅が十キュビトであった。
3And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.
4彼は家のために、格子のはめ込まれた窓を造った。
4And for the house he made windows broad within, and narrow without.
5彼は神殿の壁に沿って、その周囲に脇屋を建てた。それは神殿本体と内陣の壁を取り巻き、周囲に脇部屋が設けられていた。
5And against the wall of the house he built a side-structure round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the sanctuary; and he made side-chambers round about;
6脇屋の一階は幅五キュビト、二階は六キュビト、三階は七キュビトであった。梁を神殿の壁に差し込まずにすむよう、外壁の周囲に段を設けたからである。
6the nethermost story of the side-structure was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made rebatements in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not have hold in the walls of the house. —
7神殿は、石切り場で仕上げられた石を用いて建てられた。建築中、神殿の中では槌も斧も、いかなる鉄の道具の音も聞こえなかった。
7For the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building. —
8中階の脇部屋への入り口は、神殿の右側にあった。らせん階段で中階へ上り、中階から三階へ上った。
8The door for the lowest row of chambers was in the right side of the house and they went up by winding stairs into the middle row, and out of the middle into the third.
9こうして彼は家を建て、それを完成させた。そして杉の梁と板で家を覆った。
9So he built the house, and finished it; and he covered in the house with planks of cedar over beams.
10彼は神殿全体に沿って、高さ五キュビトの脇屋を建て、杉の材木で神殿本体に取り付けた。
10And he built the stories of the side-structure against all the house, each five cubits high; and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.
11主のことばがソロモンに臨んだ。
11And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:
12「あなたが建てているこの家について言う。もしあなたがわたしの定めに歩み、わたしの掟を行い、わたしの戒めをことごとく守って歩むなら、わたしはあなたの父ダビデに語った約束を、あなたに対して果たす。
12'As for this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in My statutes, and execute Mine ordinances, and keep all My commandments to walk in them; then will I establish My word with thee, which I spoke unto David thy father;
13わたしはイスラエルの子らの間に住み、わたしの民イスラエルを見捨てることはない。」
13in that I will dwell therein among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.'
14こうしてソロモンは家を建て、それを完成させた。
14So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
15彼は家の内側の壁を杉の板で造った。家の床から天井に至るまで、内側を木で覆い、家の床を糸杉の板で覆った。
15And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house unto the joists of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of cypress.
16彼は家の奥二十キュビトを、床から天井まで杉の板で仕切り、内陣、すなわち至聖所とした。
16And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor unto the joists; he even built them for himself within, for a Sanctuary, even for the most holy place.
17内陣の前にある神殿本体は、長さ四十キュビトであった。
17And the house, that is, the temple before the Sanctuary, was forty cubits long.
18内側の家の杉の木には、つぼみと開いた花の彫刻が施されていた。すべてが杉であり、石は一つも見えなかった。
18And the cedar on the house within was carved with knops and open flowers; all was cedar; there was no stone seen.
19彼は主の契約の箱をそこに置くために、家の内側の奥に内側の聖所を準備した。
19And he prepared the Sanctuary in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
20内陣の内部は、長さ二十キュビト、幅二十キュビト、高さ二十キュビトであった。彼はそこを純金で覆い、杉で覆われた祭壇にも金をかぶせた。
20And before the Sanctuary which was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof, overlaid with pure gold, he set an altar, which he covered with cedar.
21こうしてソロモンは家の内側を純金で覆った。彼は内側の聖所の前に金の鎖を渡し、それを金で覆った。
21So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold; and he drew chains of gold across the wall before the Sanctuary; and he overlaid it with gold.
22彼は家全体が完成するまで、家全体を金で覆った。彼はまた、内側の聖所に属する祭壇の全体を金で覆った。
22And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until all the house was finished; also the whole altar that belonged to the Sanctuary he overlaid with gold.
23彼は内側の聖所に、高さ十キュビトのオリーブの木で二つのケルビム を造った。
23And in the Sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive-wood, each ten cubits high.
24ケルブの一つの翼は五キュビト、ケルブのもう一つの翼も五キュビトで、一方の翼の端からもう一方の翼の端までは十キュビトであった。
24And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub; from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.
25もう一つのケルブも十キュビトであった。両方のケルビムは同じ寸法、同じ形であった。
25And the other cherub was ten cubits; both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.
26一つのケルブの高さは十キュビトであり、もう一つのケルブも同様であった。
26The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.
27彼はケルビムを内陣に置いた。ケルビムは翼を広げ、一方のケルブの翼は一方の壁に、もう一方のケルブの翼は反対側の壁に触れ、中央では互いの翼が触れ合っていた。
27And he set the cherubim within the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
28彼はケルビムを金で覆った。
28And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29彼は家の周囲のすべての壁に、内側も外側も、ケルビム、なつめやしの木、開いた花の彫刻を施した。
29And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, within and without.
30彼は家の床を、内側も外側も金で覆った。
30And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
31内陣の入り口にはオリーブ材の扉を造った。まぐさと門柱は五角形であった。
31And for the entrance of the Sanctuary he made doors of olive-wood, the door-posts within the frame having five angles.
32彼はオリーブの木で二つの扉を造り、そこにケルビム、なつめやしの木、開いた花の彫刻を施し、それらを金で覆った。彼はケルビムとなつめやしの木の上に金を延べた。
32And as for the two doors of olive-wood, he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm-trees.
33神殿本体の入り口にも、オリーブ材で四角形の門柱を造り、
33So also made he for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood, within a frame four-square;
34糸杉の木で二つの扉を造った。一方の扉の二つの戸板は折りたたみ式であり、もう一方の扉の二つの戸板も折りたたみ式であった。
34and two doors of cypress-wood; the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
35彼はケルビム、なつめやしの木、開いた花を彫り、彫刻された細工にぴったりと合うように金を覆った。
35And he carved thereon cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted upon the graven work.
36彼は内庭を、切り石の三つの層と、杉の梁の一つの層で造った。
36And he built the inner court with three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar beams.
37四年目のジブの月に主の家の基が据えられた。
37In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Ziv.
38十一年目のブルの月、すなわち第八の月に、神殿はすべての部分にわたり、その仕様どおりに完成した。こうして彼は七年をかけて神殿を建てた。
38And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
