1Khi Đức Giê-hô-va dẫn các phu tù của Si-ôn về, Thì chúng tôi khác nào kẻ nằm chiêm bao.
1Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.
2Bấy giờ miệng chúng tôi đầy sự vui-cười, Lưỡi chúng tôi hát những bài mừng rỡ. Trong các dân ngoại người ta nói rằng: Đức Giê-hô-va đã làm cho họ những việc lớn.
2It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,
3Đức Giê-hô-va đã làm cho chúng tôi những việc lớn; Nhân đó chúng tôi vui mừng.
3Behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.
4Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin dẫn phu tù chúng tôi về, Như các suối miền nam chảy nước lại.
4As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.
5Kẻ nào gieo giống mà giọt lệ, Sẽ gặt hái cách vui mừng.
5Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.
6Người nào vừa đi vừa khóc đem giống ra rải, Aét sẽ trở về cách vui mừng, mang bó lúa mình.
