1ดาวิดสร้างบ้านหลายหลังให้ตนเองในเมืองดาวิด แล้วเตรียมที่สำหรับหีบของพระเจ้าและตั้งกระโจมให้หีบ
1And David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2เขากล่าวว่า “คนที่หามหีบของพระเจ้าได้มีเพียงชาวเลวี เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทรงเลือกพวกเขาให้หามหีบของพระเจ้าและรับใช้พระองค์ตลอดไป”
2Then David said: 'None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites; for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of the LORD, and to minister unto Him for ever.'
3ดาวิดเรียกชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดมาชุมนุมกันในเยรูซาเล็ม เพื่อนำหีบของพระยาห์เวห์ไปยังที่ที่เขาจัดเตรียมไว้
3And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto its place, which he had prepared for it.
4เขาเรียกลูกหลานอาโรนและชาวเลวีมาด้วย ได้แก่
4And David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites;
5สายโคฮาท มีอูรีเอลเป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 120 คน
5of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twenty;
6สายเมรารี มีอาสายาห์เป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 220 คน
6of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty;
7สายเกอร์โชม มีโยเอลเป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 130 คน
7of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty;
8สายเอลีซาฟาน มีเชมายาห์เป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 200 คน
8of the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred;
9สายเฮโบรน มีเอลีเอลเป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 80 คน
9of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore;
10สายอุสซีเอล มีอัมมีนาดับเป็นหัวหน้า พร้อมญาติพี่น้อง 112 คน
10of the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twelve.
11ดาวิดเรียกศาโดกกับอาบียาธาร์ซึ่งเป็นปุโรหิต และชาวเลวีคืออูรีเอล อาสายาห์ โยเอล เชมายาห์ เอลีเอล และอัมมีนาดับ
11And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,
12เขาบอกพวกเขาว่า “ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นหัวหน้าวงศ์วานชาวเลวี จงชำระตนให้บริสุทธิ์ ทั้งตัวท่านและญาติพี่น้อง เพื่อจะได้หามหีบของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลขึ้นไปยังที่ที่ข้าเตรียมไว้
12and said unto them: 'Ye are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, unto the place that I have prepared for it.
13ครั้งแรกพวกท่านไม่ได้หามหีบ พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของเราจึงทรงสำแดงพระพิโรธต่อเรา เพราะเราไม่ได้เข้าหาพระองค์ตามข้อกำหนด”
13For because ye bore it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought Him not according to the ordinance.'
14ปุโรหิตและชาวเลวีจึงชำระตนให้บริสุทธิ์เพื่อหามหีบของพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลขึ้นไป
14So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15ชาวเลวีใช้ไม้คานหามหีบของพระเจ้าบนบ่า โมเสสสั่งไว้เช่นนี้ตามพระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์
15And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the bars thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.
16ดาวิดบอกหัวหน้าชาวเลวีให้ตั้งญาติพี่น้องเป็นนักร้อง ใช้เครื่องสาย พิณ และฉาบ บรรเลงให้กึกก้องและร้องด้วยความยินดี
16And David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers, with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up the voice with joy.
17ชาวเลวีจึงตั้งเฮมานบุตรโยเอล อาสาฟบุตรเบเรคิยาห์จากญาติพี่น้องของเขา และเอธานบุตรคูชายาห์จากลูกหลานเมรารีผู้เป็นญาติพี่น้อง
17So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18ยังมีญาติพี่น้องลำดับรอง ได้แก่ เศคาริยาห์ เบน ยาอาซีเอล เชมีราโมท เยฮีเอล อุนนี เอลีอับ เบไนยาห์ มาอาเสยาห์ มัททิธิยาห์ เอลีเฟเลฮู มิคเนยาห์ โอเบดเอโดม และเยอีเอล โดยโอเบดเอโดมกับเยอีเอลเป็นคนเฝ้าประตู
18and with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.
19เฮมาน อาสาฟ และเอธาน ซึ่งเป็นนักร้อง ได้ฉาบทองสัมฤทธิ์สำหรับตีให้กึกก้อง
19So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed, with cymbals of brass to sound aloud;
20เศคาริยาห์ อาซีเอล เชมีราโมท เยฮีเอล อุนนี เอลีอับ มาอาเสยาห์ และเบไนยาห์ เล่นเครื่องสายตามทำนองอาลาโมท
20and Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries set to Alamoth;
21ส่วนมัททิธิยาห์ เอลีเฟเลฮู มิคเนยาห์ โอเบดเอโดม เยอีเอล และอาซาซิยาห์ บรรเลงด้วยพิณที่เทียบเสียงกับเครื่องสายแปดสาย เพื่อนำวง
21and Mattithiah, and Eliphalehu, and Mikneiahu, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith, to lead.
22เคนานิยาห์หัวหน้าชาวเลวีรับผิดชอบการร้องเพลง เขาสอนนักร้องเพราะมีความชำนาญ
22And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the song; he was master in the song, because he was skilful.
23เบเรคิยาห์กับเอลคานาห์ทำหน้าที่เฝ้าทางเข้าบริเวณที่ตั้งหีบ
23And Berechiah and Elkanah were door-keepers for the ark.
24ปุโรหิตเชบานิยาห์ โยชาฟัท เนธานเอล อามาสัย เศคาริยาห์ เบไนยาห์ และเอลีเอเซอร์เป่าแตรนำหน้าหีบของพระเจ้า ส่วนโอเบดเอโดมกับเยฮิยาห์ทำหน้าที่เฝ้าทางเข้าบริเวณที่ตั้งหีบ
24And Shebaniah, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25ดาวิด ผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอล และผู้บังคับบัญชากองพัน ออกไปนำหีบพันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์จากบ้านโอเบดเอโดมด้วยความยินดี
25So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed-edom with joy.
26เมื่อพระเจ้าทรงช่วยชาวเลวีที่หามหีบพันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์ พวกเขาก็ถวายวัวผู้ 7 ตัวกับแกะผู้ 7 ตัวเป็นเครื่องบูชา
26And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.
27ดาวิดสวมเสื้อคลุมผ้าลินินเนื้อละเอียด เช่นเดียวกับชาวเลวีผู้หามหีบ นักร้อง และเคนานิยาห์หัวหน้าคณะนักร้อง ดาวิดยังสวมเอโฟดผ้าลินินด้วย
27And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the singers in the song; and David had upon him an ephod of linen.
28ชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดจึงนำหีบพันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์ขึ้นมา พร้อมเสียงโห่ร้อง เสียงแตรงอน แตรยาว และฉาบ ทั้งเสียงเครื่องสายและพิณที่บรรเลงกึกก้อง
28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the horn, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with psalteries and harps.
29เมื่อหีบพันธสัญญาของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงเมืองดาวิด มีคาล บุตรสาวซาอูล มองออกมาทางหน้าต่าง เห็นกษัตริย์ดาวิดเต้นรำและรื่นเริง นางก็ดูหมิ่นเขาในใจ
29And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and making merry; and she despised him in her heart.
