King James Version with Apocrypha
1E HOOPAKELE mai oe ia'u, e Iehova, i ke kanaka hewa; E malama mai hoi ia'u no ke kanaka kolohe:
1Deliver me, O LORD , from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
2Ka poe i imi hewa ma ka naau; Akoakoa no lakou i na la a pau, e kaua.
2Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
3Hookala no lakou i ko lakou alelo me he nahesa la; A aia malalo o ko lakou mau lehelehe ka mea make o ka moonihoawa. Sila.
3They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.
4E malama mai oe ia'u, e Iehova, i na lima o ka poe hewa. E kiai mai ia'u no ke kanaka kolohe; No ka mea, manao mai oia e hoohiolo i kuu mau kapuwai.
4Keep me, O LORD , from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5Na ka poe hookiekie i hana i ka mea hei a me na kaula no'u; A ua uhola lakou i ka upena ma kapa alanui; Ua kau lakou i pahele no'u. Sila.
5The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
6Olelo aku la au ia Iehova, O oe no ko'u Akua; E hoolohe mai oe, e Iehova, i ka leo o ko'u nonoi ana.
6I said unto the LORD , Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD .
7E Iehova, ka Haku ikaika o ko'u ola, Ua uhi mai no oe i ko'u poo i ka la o ke kaua.
7O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
8Mai haawi mai oe, e Iehova, i na mea a ka poe hewa i makemake ai; Mai kokua mai oe mamuli o kona manao; Ua hookiekie no lakou. Sila.
8Grant not, O LORD , the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
9O ke poo o ka poe hoopani mai ia'u, E uhiia lakou i ka luhi o ko lakou mau lehelehe.
9As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10E haule mai na lanahu maluna o lakou; E kiolaia lakou iloko o ke ahi, Iloko hoi o na lua hohonu, I olo ai lakou e ku hou mai iluna.
10Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
11Aole e onipaa ma ka honua ke kanaka olelo wahahee; A e hahai koke no ka hewa i ke kanaka kolohe.
11Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him .
12Ua ike no wau, e kokua mau no o Iehova i ka poe pilikia, A e hoapono hoi i ka poe ilihune.
12I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13Oiaio e mililani aku no ka poe pono i kou inoa; E noho no hoi ka poe hoopololei ma kou alo.
13Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
