1Davidův, když proměnil oblíčej svůj před Abimelechem; pročež jsa od něho vyhnán, odšel.
1I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
2Dobrořečiti budu Hospodinu každého času, vždycky chvála jeho v ústech mých.
2My soul boasts in the LORD; let the oppressed hear and rejoice.
3V Hospodinu chlubiti se bude duše má, což uslyšíc tiší, budou se veseliti.
3Magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together.
4Zvelebujtež se mnou Hospodina, a jméno jeho společně vyvyšujme.
4I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.
5Hledal jsem Hospodina, a vyslyšel mne, a ze všech přístrachů mých vytrhl mne.
5Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces shall never be ashamed.
6Pročež k němu patřiti budou, a sbíhati se, a nebudou zahanbeny tváři jejich, ale řkou:
6This poor man called out, and the LORD heard him; He saved him from all his troubles.
7Tento chudý volal a Hospodin vyslyšel, i ze všech úzkostí jeho vysvobodil jej.
7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and he delivers them.
8Vojensky se klade anděl Hospodinův okolo těch, kteříž se ho bojí, a zastává jich.
8Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
9Okuste a vizte, jak dobrý jest Hospodin. Blahoslavený člověk, kterýž doufá v něho.
9Fear the LORD, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.
10Bojtež se Hospodina svatí jeho; neboť nemívají nedostatku ti, kdož se ho bojí.
10Young lions go lacking and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11Lvíčátka nedostatek a hlad trpívají, ale ti, kteříž hledají Hospodina, nemívají nedostatku ve všem dobrém.
11Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12Poďtež, dítky, poslouchejte mne, bázni Hospodinově vyučovati vás budu.
12Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days?
13Který člověk žádostiv jest života, a miluje dny, aby užíval dobrých věcí?
13Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech.
14Zdržuj jazyk svůj od zlého, a rty své od mluvení lsti.
14Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
15Odstup od zlého, a čiň dobré, hledej pokoje, a stíhej jej.
15The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their cry.
16Oči Hospodinovy obrácené jsou k spravedlivým, a uši jeho k volání jejich:
16But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.
17Ale zůřivý oblíčej Hospodinův proti těm, kteříž páší zlé věci, aby vyplénil z země památku jejich.
17The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.
18Volají-li spravedliví, Hospodin vyslýchá, a ze všech jejich úzkostí je vytrhuje.
18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.
19Nebo blízko jest Hospodin těm, kteříž jsou srdce skroušeného, a potřeným v duchu spomáhá.
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all.
20Mnohé úzkosti jsou spravedlivého, ale Hospodin ze všech jej vytrhuje.
20He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
21Onť ostříhá všech kostí jeho, žádná z nich nebývá zlámána.
21Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned.
22Bezbožníka zahubí zlost, a ti, kteříž nenávidí spravedlivého, zkaženi budou.
22The LORD redeems His servants, and none who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
23Služebníků pak svých duše vykoupí Hospodin, a nebudou zkaženi, kteříž doufají v něho.
