1Gióp đáp rằng:
1Then Job answered and said:
2Hãy nghe kỹ càng lời giảng luận tôi; Thì điều đó sẽ thế cho sự an ủi của các bạn.
2Hear diligently my speech; and let this be your consolations.
3Hãy nhịn nhục tôi, để tôi nói: Sau khi tôi đã nói, các bạn hãy cứ nhạo báng đi.
3Suffer me, that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
4Còn về phần tôi, than van tôi há hướng về loài người sao? Nhân sao trí tôi không hết nhịn nhục?
4As for me, is my complaint to man? Or why should I not be impatient?
5Hãy xem xét tôi, và lấy làm lạ; Khá lấy tay bụm miệng mình.
5Turn unto me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
6Khi nào tôi nhớ lại, tôi bèn bị kinh hoảng, Rởn óc cả và thịt tôi.
6Even when I remember I am affrighted, and horror hath taketh hold on my flesh.
7Cớ sao kẻ gian ác sống, Trở nên già cả và quyền thế cường thạnh?
7Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, wax mighty in power?
8Dòng dõi chúng nó thành lập có mắt chúng nó thấy, Và con cháu họ ở trước mặt họ.
8Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
9Nhà của chúng nó được bình yên, không sợ gì, Roi của Đức Chúa trời chẳng đánh mình chúng nó.
9Their houses are safe, without fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
10Bò đực chúng nó sanh sảnh không hề thiếu kém, Bò cái họ sanh đẻ không có sảo.
10Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
11Chúng nó cho các đứa trẻ mình đi ra như một bầy chiên, Và con cái họ giỡn chơi nhau.
11They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
12Hát múa theo tiếng trống nhỏ và đàn cầm, Và vui mừng theo tiếng kèn sáo.
12They sing to the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
13Chúng nó may mắn trải qua các ngày đời mình, Rồi bỗng chốc sa xuống âm phủ.
13They spend their days in prosperity, and peacefully they go down to the grave.
14Chúng nó nói với Đức Chúa Trời rằng: “Ngài hãy lìa xa chúng tôi, Vì chúng tôi không muốn biết đạo của Ngài.”
14Yet they said unto God: 'Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of Thy ways.
15Đấng Toàn năng là chi, mà chúng tôi phải phục sự Ngài? Nếu chúng tôi cầu khẩn Ngài thì được ích gì?
15What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?' —
16Kìa sự may mắn chúng nó chẳng ở nơi tay chúng nó: Các mưu chước kẻ ác cách xa tôi.
16Lo, their prosperity is not in their hand; the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17Cái đèn kẻ ác tắt, Tai họa giáng trên chúng nó, Và trong cơn thạnh nộ, Đức Chúa Trời phân phát đau đớn cho chúng nó, Điều đó há có thường xảy đến sao?
17How oft is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? that their calamity cometh upon them? that He distributeth pains in His anger?
18Há năng xảy ra chúng nó phải như rơm trước gió, Như trấu bị bão cất đi sao?
18That they are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm stealeth away?
19Các bạn nói rằng: Đức Chúa Trời dành sự hình phạt về hung ác nó cho con cái nó. Đức Chúa Trời khá báo cho chính mình nó, để nó biết:
19'God layeth up his iniquity for his children!' — let Him recompense it unto himself, that he may know it.
20Khá chính con mắt hắn xem thấy điều hư hoại mình, Và uống được sự thạnh nộ của Đấng Toàn năng.
20Let his own eyes see his destruction, and let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21Vì khi số ngày định cho nó đã hết rồi, Nó nào kể chi đến gia quyến sau nó?
21For what pleasure hath he in his house after him? seeing the number of his months is determined.
22Đức Chúa Trời xét đoán những người cao vị; Vậy, người ta há sẽ dạy tri thức cho Ngài sao?
22Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing it is He that judgeth those that are high.
23Kẻ nầy thác giữa chừng mạnh mẽ, Được thanh nhàn và bình an mọi bề;
23One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
24Hai bình người đầy sữa, Và tủy xương người nhuần đượm.
24His pails are full of milk, and the marrow of his bones is moistened.
25Kẻ khác lại chết giữa chừng cay đắng linh hồn, Chẳng hề được nếm điều phước hạnh gì hết.
25And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath never tasted of good.
26Cả hai đều nằm chung trong bụi đất, Giòi sâu che lấp họ.
26They lie down alike in the dust, and the worm covereth them.
27Nầy, tôi biết ý tưởng các bạn, Cùng các mưu kế các bạn toan dùng đặng tàn hại tôi.
27Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
28Vì các bạn nói rằng: “Nhà kẻ cường bạo ở đâu? Trại kẻ ác ở nơi nào?”
28For ye say: 'Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent wherein the wicked dwelt?'
29Chớ thì các bạn chẳng hề hỏi khách qua đường sao? Há chẳng nhờ chứng cớ của họ mà nhìn biết rằng,
29Have ye not asked them that go by the way; and will ye misdeem their tokens,
30Trong ngày tai họa, kẻ hung ác được khỏi, Và trong ngày thạnh nộ, nó được thoát?
30That the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, that they are led forth to the day of wrath?
31Tại trước mặt hắn, ai dám trách hắn vì tánh hạnh hắn? Ai sẽ báo ứng điều hắn đã làm?
31But who shall declare his way to his face? And who shall repay him what he hath done?
32Nó sẽ được đưa đến huyệt mả, Và người ta sẽ canh giữ phần mộ nó.
32For he is borne to the grave, and watch is kept over his tomb.
33Các cục đất của trũng lấy làm êm dịu cho nó; Mọi người đều đi noi theo, Và kẻ đi trước thì vô số.
33The clods of the valley are sweet unto him, and all men draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34Vậy, sao các bạn an ủi tôi vô ích dường ấy? Vì những câu đáp của các bạn chỉ còn sự bất trung mà thôi.
34How then comfort ye me in vain? And as for your answers, there remaineth only faithlessness?
