1วิบัติจงเกิดแก่คนที่ออกกฎอันไม่เป็นธรรม และคนที่เขียนข้อบังคับกดขี่
1Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers that write iniquity;
2เพื่อกีดกันคนยากไร้จากความยุติธรรม ปล้นสิทธิของคนจนในหมู่ประชาชนของเรา ให้หญิงม่ายเป็นของที่ตนปล้น และเด็กที่ไม่มีพ่อเป็นเหยื่อ!
2To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right of the poor of My people, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3พวกเจ้าจะทำอย่างไรในวันที่ต้องรับโทษ เมื่อความพินาศมาจากแดนไกล? จะหนีไปหาใครให้ช่วย? จะทิ้งทรัพย์สมบัติไว้ที่ไหน?
3And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the ruin which shall come from far? To whom will ye flee for help? And where will ye leave your glory?
4พวกเขามีแต่จะหมอบอยู่ใต้เชลย และล้มลงใต้ผู้ถูกฆ่า แม้เกิดเรื่องทั้งหมดนี้ ความโกรธของพระองค์ก็ยังไม่คลาย มือของพระองค์ยังยื่นออกมา
4They can do nought except crouch under the captives, and fall under the slain. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
5อนิจจา อัสซีเรีย ตะบองแห่งความโกรธของเรา ไม้ในมือเขาคือความโกรธเกรี้ยวของเรา!
5O Asshur, the rod of Mine anger, in whose hand as a staff is Mine indignation!
6เราจะส่งเขาไปต่อสู้ชาติที่ลบหลู่สิ่งบริสุทธิ์ จะสั่งให้เขาไปปล้น ไปชิง และเหยียบย่ำประชาชนที่ทำให้เราโกรธ ให้เป็นเหมือนโคลนบนถนน
6I do send him against an ungodly nation, and against the people of My wrath do I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7แต่เขาไม่ได้ตั้งใจเช่นนั้น ไม่ได้คิดอย่างนั้นในใจ ใจเขาต้องการทำลาย ล้างผลาญชนชาติจำนวนมาก
7Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few.
8เขาพูดว่า “ผู้นำทั้งหมดของเราเป็นกษัตริย์ไม่ใช่หรือ?
8For he saith: 'Are not my princes all of them kings?
9คาลโนก็เหมือนคารเคมิชไม่ใช่หรือ? ฮามัทก็เหมือนอารปัดไม่ใช่หรือ? สะมาเรียก็เหมือนดามัสกัสไม่ใช่หรือ?”
9Is not Calno as Carchemish? Is not Hamath as Arpad? Is not Samaria as Damascus?
10มือของเราได้ยึดอาณาจักรที่มีรูปเคารพ ซึ่งมีรูปแกะสลักมากกว่าทั้งเยรูซาเล็มและสะมาเรีย
10As my hand hath reached the kingdoms of the idols, whose graven images did exceed them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
11เราทำกับสะมาเรียและรูปเคารพของเมืองนั้นอย่างไร จะไม่ทำอย่างเดียวกันกับเยรูซาเล็มและรูปเคารพของเมืองนั้นหรือ?
11Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?'
12เมื่อพระผู้เป็นเจ้าทำงานทั้งหมดบนภูเขาศิโยนและในเยรูซาเล็มเสร็จ เราจะลงโทษผลที่เกิดจากใจดื้อดึงและเย่อหยิ่งของกษัตริย์แห่งอัสซีเรีย และความอวดดีที่แสดงออกทางสายตาหยิ่งผยองของเขา
12Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed His whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks.
13เพราะเขาพูดว่า “เราทำด้วยกำลังมือและปัญญาของเรา เพราะเรามีความเข้าใจ เรารื้อเขตแดนของชนชาติต่างๆ ปล้นทรัพย์สมบัติของพวกเขา และโค่นผู้ปกครองลงเหมือนนักรบผู้กล้า
13For he hath said: by the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I am prudent; in that I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and have brought down as one mighty the inhabitants;
14มือของเราพบทรัพย์ของชนชาติต่างๆ เหมือนพบรังนก เรารวบรวมทั้งแผ่นดิน เหมือนคนเก็บไข่ที่ถูกทิ้งไว้ ไม่มีใครขยับปีก อ้าปาก หรือร้องจิ๊บๆ เลย”
14And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.
15ขวานจะอวดเหนือคนที่ใช้มันฟันหรือ? เลื่อยจะยกตัวเหนือคนที่ใช้มันเลื่อยหรือ? ก็เหมือนตะบองจะยกคนที่ยกมันขึ้น หรือไม้เท้าจะยกคนที่ไม่ใช่ไม้ขึ้น!
15Should the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? Should the saw magnify itself against him that moveth it? as if a rod should move them that lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up him that is not wood.
16พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ แห่งกองทัพ จึงจะทำให้คนอ้วนพีของเขาซูบผอม และจุดไฟใต้ความรุ่งโรจน์ของเขา ให้ไหม้ลุกโชน
16Therefore will the Lord, the LORD of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.
17แสงสว่างของอิสราเอลจะเป็นไฟ พระผู้บริสุทธิ์ของเขาจะเป็นเปลวเพลิง เผาผลาญพุ่มหนามและต้นหนามของเขาในวันเดียว
17And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.
18พระองค์จะเผาผลาญความรุ่งโรจน์ของป่าและไร่อุดมสมบูรณ์ของเขา ทั้งชีวิตและร่างกาย จะเป็นเหมือนคนถือธงที่หมดแรง
18And the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, he will consume both soul and body; and it shall be as when a sick man wasteth away.
19ต้นไม้ที่เหลือในป่าของเขาจะมีน้อยจนเด็กก็นับและเขียนจำนวนได้
19And the remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them down.
20ในวันนั้น คนอิสราเอลที่รอดเหลือและผู้ที่หนีรอดจากเชื้อสายยาโคบ จะไม่พึ่งพาคนที่ตีพวกเขาอีก แต่จะพึ่งพาพระยาห์เวห์ พระผู้บริสุทธิ์แห่งอิสราเอลอย่างแท้จริง
20And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and they that are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21ผู้ที่รอดเหลือจะกลับมา คือผู้ที่รอดเหลือของยาโคบจะกลับมาหาพระเจ้าผู้ทรงพลัง
21A remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto God the Mighty.
22อิสราเอล แม้ประชาชนของเจ้าจะมีมากเหมือนทรายในทะเล ก็มีเพียงผู้ที่รอดเหลือเท่านั้นจะกลับมา ความพินาศได้ถูกกำหนดไว้แล้ว เปี่ยมล้นด้วยความเที่ยงธรรม
22For though thy people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them shall return; an extermination is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
23เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ แห่งกองทัพ จะทำลายให้สิ้นสุดตามที่กำหนดไว้ทั่วแผ่นดิน
23For an extermination wholly determined shall the Lord, the GOD of hosts, make in the midst of all the earth.
24พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ จึงกล่าวว่า “ประชาชนของเรา ผู้ที่อยู่ในศิโยน อย่ากลัวอัสซีเรีย แม้เขาจะตีพวกเจ้าด้วยตะบอง ยกไม้ขึ้นเหนือพวกเจ้าอย่างที่อียิปต์เคยทำ
24Therefore thus saith the Lord, the GOD of hosts: O My people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of Asshur, though he smite thee with the rod, and lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
25อีกเพียงไม่นาน ความโกรธเกรี้ยวต่อพวกเจ้าจะสิ้นสุด และความโกรธของเราจะมุ่งไปทำลายเขา”
25For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall be accomplished, and Mine anger shall be to their destruction.
26พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพจะปลุกแส้ขึ้นต่อสู้เขา เหมือนเมื่อฆ่าชาวมีเดียนที่ศิลาโอเรบ ตะบองของพระองค์จะอยู่เหนือทะเล และจะยกขึ้นเหมือนที่เคยทำกับอียิปต์
26And the LORD of hosts shall stir up against him a scourge, as in the slaughter of Midian at the Rock of Oreb; and as His rod was over the sea, so shall He lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
27ในวันนั้น ภาระของเขาจะออกจากบ่าของเจ้า แอกของเขาจะออกจากคอของเจ้า และแอกจะถูกทำลายเพราะน้ำมันที่ใช้เจิม
27And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall depart from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed by reason of fatness.
28เขามาถึงอัยยาท ผ่านมิโกรน และเก็บสัมภาระไว้ที่มิคมาช
28He is come to Aiath, he is passed through Migron; at Michmas he layeth up his baggage;
29พวกเขาข้ามช่องเขา พักแรมที่เกบา รามาห์สั่นกลัว กิเบอาห์ของซาอูลหนีไป
29They are gone over the pass; they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah trembleth; Gibeath-shaul is fled.
30ธิดาแห่งกัลลิม จงร้องเสียงดัง! ไลชาห์ จงฟัง! อานาโธทที่น่าสงสาร!
30Cry thou with a shrill voice, O daughter of Gallim! Hearken, O Laish! O thou poor Anathoth!
31มัดเมนาห์หนีไป ชาวเกบิมหนีหาที่ปลอดภัย
31Madmenah is in mad flight; the inhabitants of Gebim flee to cover.
32วันนี้เอง เขาจะหยุดที่โนบ เขาสะบัดมือข่มขู่ภูเขาของธิดาแห่งศิโยน เนินเขาแห่งเยรูซาเล็ม
32This very day shall he halt at Nob, shaking his hand at the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33ดูเถิด พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพ จะตัดกิ่งด้วยความน่าเกรงขาม ต้นสูงจะถูกโค่น สิ่งที่สูงเด่นจะถูกกดให้ต่ำ
33Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the boughs with terror; and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the lofty shall be laid low.
34พระองค์จะใช้เหล็กฟันพุ่มไม้หนาทึบในป่า เลบานอนจะล้มลงด้วยพระผู้ทรงพลัง
34And He shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
