1พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “ดูสิ เราให้เจ้าเป็นเหมือนพระเจ้าต่อฟาโรห์ และอาโรนพี่ชายของเจ้าจะเป็นผู้เผยคำของเจ้า
1And the LORD said unto Moses: 'See, I have set thee in God's stead to Pharaoh; and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.
2เจ้าต้องพูดทุกอย่างที่เราสั่ง ส่วนอาโรนพี่ชายของเจ้าจะพูดกับฟาโรห์ให้ปล่อยชาวอิสราเอลออกจากแผ่นดินของเขา
2Thou shalt speak all that I command thee; and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.
3แต่เราจะทำให้ใจฟาโรห์แข็งกระด้าง และจะเพิ่มหมายสำคัญและสิ่งอัศจรรย์ของเราให้มากมายในแผ่นดินอียิปต์
3And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.
4ฟาโรห์จะไม่ฟังพวกเจ้า เราจึงจะเหยียดมือออกเหนืออียิปต์ และจะพากองทัพของเรา คือประชาชนของเรา ชาวอิสราเอล ออกจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์ด้วยการพิพากษาครั้งใหญ่หลายครั้ง
4But Pharaoh will not hearken unto you, and I will lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring forth My hosts, My people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt, by great judgments.
5เมื่อเราเหยียดมือออกเหนืออียิปต์และพาชาวอิสราเอลออกมาจากท่ามกลางพวกเขา ชาวอียิปต์จะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์”
5And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.'
6โมเสสกับอาโรนก็ทำเช่นนั้น พวกเขาทำตามที่พระยาห์เวห์สั่งทุกอย่าง
6And Moses and Aaron did so; as the LORD commanded them, so did they.
7ตอนที่พวกเขาไปพูดกับฟาโรห์ โมเสสอายุ 80 ปี และอาโรนอายุ 83 ปี
7And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spoke unto Pharaoh.
8พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสและอาโรนว่า
8And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying:
9“เมื่อฟาโรห์พูดกับพวกเจ้าว่า ‘ทำสิ่งอัศจรรย์ให้ดูสิ!’ เจ้าจงบอกอาโรนว่า ‘เอาไม้เท้าของเจ้าโยนลงต่อหน้าฟาโรห์ แล้วมันจะกลายเป็นงู’”
9'When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying: Show a wonder for you; then thou shalt say unto Aaron: Take thy rod, and cast it down before Pharaoh, that it become a serpent.'
10โมเสสกับอาโรนจึงเข้าเฝ้าฟาโรห์และทำตามที่พระยาห์เวห์สั่ง อาโรนโยนไม้เท้าลงต่อหน้าฟาโรห์และข้ารับใช้ของเขา แล้วไม้เท้าก็กลายเป็นงู
10And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so, as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11ฟาโรห์จึงเรียกพวกนักปราชญ์และพ่อมดมา บรรดานักเวทมนตร์ของอียิปต์ก็ใช้วิชาอาคมทำอย่างเดียวกัน
11Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers; and they also, the magicians of Egypt, did in like manner with their secret arts.
12แต่ละคนโยนไม้เท้าของตนลง แล้วไม้เท้าเหล่านั้นก็กลายเป็นงู แต่ไม้เท้าของอาโรนกลืนไม้เท้าของพวกเขา
12For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents; but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
13ถึงอย่างนั้น ใจของฟาโรห์ก็แข็งกระด้าง เขาไม่ยอมฟังโมเสสกับอาโรน ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ได้ตรัสไว้
13And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken.
14พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “ใจของฟาโรห์ดื้อดึง เขาไม่ยอมปล่อยประชาชนไป
14And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Pharaoh's heart is stubborn, he refuseth to let the people go.
15พรุ่งนี้เช้าไปหาฟาโรห์ เขาจะออกไปที่แม่น้ำ จงยืนรอพบเขาริมฝั่งแม่น้ำ และถือไม้เท้าที่เคยกลายเป็นงูไปด้วย
15Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thy hand.
16แล้วบอกเขาว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของชาวฮีบรู ส่งผมมาบอกท่านว่า “ปล่อยประชาชนของเราไป เพื่อพวกเขาจะรับใช้เราในถิ่นทุรกันดาร” แต่จนถึงตอนนี้ท่านก็ยังไม่ยอมฟัง
16And thou shalt say unto him: The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, hath sent me unto thee, saying: Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto thou hast not hearkened;
17พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า “ด้วยสิ่งที่จะเกิดขึ้นนี้ ท่านจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์ ดูสิ เราจะใช้ไม้เท้าในมือฟาดน้ำในแม่น้ำ แล้วน้ำจะกลายเป็นเลือด
17thus saith the LORD: In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD — behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.
18ปลาในแม่น้ำจะตาย แม่น้ำจะเหม็นจนชาวอียิปต์รังเกียจที่จะดื่มน้ำจากแม่น้ำนั้น”’”
18And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall become foul; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink water from the river.'
19พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “บอกอาโรนว่า ‘ถือไม้เท้าของเจ้า แล้วเหยียดมือออกเหนือแหล่งน้ำทั้งหลายของอียิปต์ ทั้งแม่น้ำ ลำธาร บึง และสระน้ำทั้งหมด ให้น้ำเหล่านั้นกลายเป็นเลือด จะมีเลือดทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์ แม้แต่ในภาชนะไม้และภาชนะหิน’”
19And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Say unto Aaron: Take thy rod, and stretch out thy hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.'
20โมเสสกับอาโรนก็ทำตามที่พระยาห์เวห์สั่ง อาโรนยกไม้เท้าขึ้นฟาดน้ำในแม่น้ำต่อหน้าฟาโรห์และข้ารับใช้ของเขา น้ำทั้งหมดในแม่น้ำก็กลายเป็นเลือด
20And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.
21ปลาในแม่น้ำตาย แม่น้ำเหม็น ชาวอียิปต์ดื่มน้ำจากแม่น้ำไม่ได้ และมีเลือดทั่วแผ่นดินอียิปต์
21And the fish that were in the river died; and the river became foul, and the Egyptians could not drink water from the river; and the blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.
22พวกนักเวทมนตร์ของอียิปต์ก็ใช้วิชาอาคมทำอย่างเดียวกัน ใจของฟาโรห์จึงแข็งกระด้าง และเขาไม่ยอมฟังโมเสสกับอาโรน ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ได้ตรัสไว้
22And the magicians of Egypt did in like manner with their secret arts; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken.
23ฟาโรห์หันกลับเข้าวัง และไม่ใส่ใจเรื่องนี้แม้แต่น้อย
23And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he lay even this to heart.
24ชาวอียิปต์ทุกคนขุดหาน้ำดื่มตามบริเวณรอบแม่น้ำ เพราะดื่มน้ำในแม่น้ำไม่ได้
24And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.
25แล้ว 7 วันก็ผ่านไปหลังจากพระยาห์เวห์ฟาดแม่น้ำ
25And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.
