Psalms 34
King James Version with ApocryphaTranslation
King James Version with Apocrypha
Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
1Ipsi David. [Judica, Domine, nocentes me; expugna impugnantes me.
2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD : the humble shall hear thereof , and be glad.
2Apprehende arma et scutum, et exsurge in adjutorium mihi.
3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
3Effunde frameam, et conclude adversus eos qui persequuntur me; dic animæ meæ: Salus tua ego sum.
4I sought the LORD , and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
4Confundantur et revereantur quærentes animam meam; avertantur retrorsum et confundantur cogitantes mihi mala.
5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
5Fiant tamquam pulvis ante faciem venti, et angelus Domini coarctans eos.
6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him , and saved him out of all his troubles.
6Fiat via illorum tenebræ et lubricum, et angelus Domini persequens eos.
7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
7Quoniam gratis absconderunt mihi interitum laquei sui; supervacue exprobraverunt animam meam.
8O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
8Veniat illi laqueus quem ignorat, et captio quam abscondit apprehendat eum, et in laqueum cadat in ipsum.
9O fear the LORD , ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
9Anima autem mea exsultabit in Domino, et delectabitur super salutari suo.
10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing .
10Omnia ossa mea dicent: Domine, quis similis tibi? eripiens inopem de manu fortiorum ejus; egenum et pauperem a diripientibus eum.
11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD .
11Surgentes testes iniqui, quæ ignorabam interrogabant me.
12What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
12Retribuebant mihi mala pro bonis, sterilitatem animæ meæ.
13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
13Ego autem, cum mihi molesti essent, induebar cilicio; humiliabam in jejunio animam meam, et oratio mea in sinu meo convertetur.
14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
14Quasi proximum et quasi fratrem nostrum sic complacebam; quasi lugens et contristatus sic humiliabar.
15The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
15Et adversum me lætati sunt, et convenerunt; congregata sunt super me flagella, et ignoravi.
16The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
16Dissipati sunt, nec compuncti; tentaverunt me, subsannaverunt me subsannatione; frenduerunt super me dentibus suis.
17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
17Domine, quando respicies? Restitue animam meam a malignitate eorum; a leonibus unicam meam.
18The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
18Confitebor tibi in ecclesia magna; in populo gravi laudabo te.
19Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
19Non supergaudeant mihi qui adversantur mihi inique, qui oderunt me gratis, et annuunt oculis.
20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
20Quoniam mihi quidem pacifice loquebantur; et in iracundia terræ loquentes, dolos cogitabant.
21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
21Et dilataverunt super me os suum; dixerunt: Euge, euge ! viderunt oculi nostri.
22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
22Vidisti, Domine: ne sileas; Domine, ne discedas a me.
