1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
1จงเลียนแบบพระเจ้าเหมือนลูกที่พระองค์รัก
2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
2และดำเนินชีวิตด้วยความรัก เหมือนที่พระคริสต์รักเรา และมอบพระองค์เองเพื่อเรา เป็นเครื่องถวายและเครื่องบูชาแด่พระเจ้า เป็นกลิ่นหอมหวาน
3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
3ส่วนการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ ความไม่บริสุทธิ์ทุกอย่าง หรือความโลภ เรื่องเหล่านี้ไม่ควรถูกเอ่ยถึงแม้แต่เพียงเล็กน้อยในหมู่พวกคุณ เพราะไม่เหมาะกับผู้บริสุทธิ์
4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
4เช่นเดียวกับความลามก คำพูดโง่เขลา หรือการพูดเล่นหยาบคายที่ไม่เหมาะสม สิ่งเหล่านี้ไม่ควรมี แต่ควรเป็นการขอบคุณพระเจ้ามากกว่า
5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
5พวกคุณรู้แน่ว่า คนผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ คนไม่บริสุทธิ์ หรือคนโลภ ซึ่งก็คือคนบูชารูปเคารพ จะไม่มีส่วนรับมรดกในอาณาจักรของพระคริสต์และของพระเจ้า
6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
6อย่าให้ใครหลอกพวกคุณด้วยถ้อยคำที่ว่างเปล่า เพราะสิ่งเหล่านี้ทำให้พระพิโรธของพระเจ้ามาเหนือบรรดาลูกแห่งความไม่เชื่อฟัง
7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
7อย่ามีส่วนร่วมกับพวกเขา
8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
8เมื่อก่อนพวกคุณเป็นความมืด แต่บัดนี้เป็นความสว่างในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า จงดำเนินชีวิตเหมือนลูกแห่งความสว่าง
9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
9ผลของพระวิญญาณปรากฏในความดี ความชอบธรรม และความจริงทุกอย่าง
10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
10จงพิจารณาให้แน่ชัดว่าอะไรเป็นที่พอใจขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them .
11อย่ามีส่วนร่วมกับการกระทำอันไร้ผลของความมืด แต่จงเปิดโปงสิ่งเหล่านั้น
12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
12แม้แต่จะพูดถึงสิ่งที่พวกเขาทำกันลับ ๆ ก็น่าอับอาย
13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
13แต่ทุกสิ่งเมื่อถูกเปิดโปงก็ปรากฏให้เห็นด้วยความสว่าง เพราะทุกสิ่งที่ทำให้ปรากฏนั้นคือความสว่าง
14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
14จึงมีคำกล่าวว่า “คนที่หลับอยู่ จงตื่นขึ้น และจงฟื้นขึ้นจากความตาย แล้วพระคริสต์จะส่องสว่างแก่คุณ”
15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
15จงระวังให้ดีว่าพวกคุณดำเนินชีวิตอย่างไร อย่าเป็นเหมือนคนไร้ปัญญา แต่เป็นเหมือนคนมีปัญญา
16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
16จงใช้ทุกโอกาสให้คุ้มค่า เพราะยุคสมัยนี้ชั่วร้าย
17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is .
17อย่าเป็นคนโง่เขลา แต่จงเข้าใจว่าพระประสงค์ขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าคืออะไร
18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
18อย่าเมาเหล้าองุ่น เพราะนำไปสู่ชีวิตเสเพล แต่จงเต็มเปี่ยมด้วยพระวิญญาณ
19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
19จงพูดต่อกันด้วยเพลงสดุดี บทเพลงสรรเสริญ และบทเพลงทางวิญญาณ ร้องเพลงและบรรเลงทำนองในหัวใจถวายองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
20จงขอบคุณพระเจ้าพระบิดาเสมอสำหรับทุกสิ่ง ในนามของพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
21จงยอมอ่อนน้อมต่อกันด้วยความเคารพยำเกรงพระคริสต์
22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
22ภรรยาทั้งหลาย จงยอมอ่อนน้อมต่อสามีของตน เหมือนต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
23สามีเป็นศีรษะของภรรยา เหมือนที่พระคริสต์เป็นศีรษะของประชาคม และพระองค์เองเป็นผู้ช่วยให้ร่างกายรอด
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
24ดังนั้น เช่นเดียวกับที่ประชาคมยอมอ่อนน้อมต่อพระคริสต์ ภรรยาก็ควรยอมอ่อนน้อมต่อสามีของตนในทุกสิ่ง
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
25สามีทั้งหลาย จงรักภรรยาของตน เหมือนที่พระคริสต์รักประชาคม และมอบพระองค์เองเพื่อประชาคม
26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
26เพื่อชำระประชาคมให้บริสุทธิ์ โดยชำระให้สะอาดด้วยการล้างน้ำพร้อมด้วยถ้อยคำ
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
27เพื่อพระองค์จะนำประชาคมมาอยู่ต่อหน้าพระองค์เองอย่างเปี่ยมด้วยพระสิริ โดยไม่มีจุดด่าง รอยย่น หรือสิ่งใดทำนองนั้น แต่ให้ประชาคมบริสุทธิ์และไม่มีตำหนิ
28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
28เช่นเดียวกัน สามีควรรักภรรยาของตนเหมือนรักร่างกายของตน ผู้ที่รักภรรยาของตนก็รักตนเอง
29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
29ไม่มีใครเคยเกลียดร่างกายของตนเอง แต่คอยเลี้ยงดูและทะนุถนอม เหมือนที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทำต่อประชาคม
30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
30เพราะเราเป็นอวัยวะในร่างกายของพระองค์ เป็นเนื้อและกระดูกของพระองค์
31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
31“เพราะเหตุนี้ ผู้ชายจะจากบิดาและมารดาของตน ไปผูกพันกับภรรยา และทั้งสองจะเป็นเนื้อเดียวกัน”
32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
32ความลับข้อนี้ยิ่งใหญ่ แต่ข้าพเจ้ากำลังกล่าวถึงพระคริสต์กับประชาคม
33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
33อย่างไรก็ตาม สามีแต่ละคนจงรักภรรยาของตนเหมือนรักตนเอง ส่วนภรรยาก็จงเคารพสามีของตน
