1I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
1ด้วยเหตุนี้ ข้าพเจ้า ผู้ถูกจองจำเพราะองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ขอร้องพวกคุณให้ดำเนินชีวิตสมกับการเรียกที่พวกคุณได้รับ
2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
2ด้วยความถ่อมตนอย่างยิ่ง ความอ่อนโยน และความอดทน จงอดกลั้นต่อกันด้วยความรัก
3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
3จงเอาใจใส่รักษาความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวของพระวิญญาณไว้ ด้วยสายสัมพันธ์แห่งสันติสุข
4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
4มีร่างกายเดียวและพระวิญญาณองค์เดียว เช่นเดียวกับที่พวกคุณได้รับการเรียกให้มีความหวังเดียวกัน
5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
5มีองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าองค์เดียว ความเชื่อเดียว และบัพติศมาเดียว
6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
6มีพระเจ้าองค์เดียว ผู้เป็นพระบิดาของทุกคน พระองค์อยู่เหนือทุกคน ทำงานผ่านทุกคน และอยู่ในเราทุกคน
7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
7แต่เราแต่ละคนได้รับพระคุณ ตามสัดส่วนของของขวัญที่พระคริสต์ประทาน
8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
8พระคัมภีร์จึงกล่าวว่า “เมื่อพระองค์ขึ้นสู่ที่สูง พระองค์นำเหล่าเชลยไปเป็นขบวน และให้ของขวัญแก่มนุษย์”
9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
9คำที่ว่า “พระองค์ขึ้น” จะหมายถึงอะไร ถ้าไม่ใช่ว่าพระองค์ลงไปยังส่วนล่างของแผ่นดินโลกก่อน
10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
10พระองค์ผู้ลงไปนั้นเองคือผู้ที่ขึ้นสูงเหนือสวรรค์ทั้งปวง เพื่อจะเติมเต็มทุกสิ่ง
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
11พระองค์ประทานบางคนให้เป็นอัครทูต บางคนเป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะ บางคนเป็นผู้ประกาศข่าวดี และบางคนเป็นผู้เลี้ยงดูและครู
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
12เพื่อเตรียมผู้บริสุทธิ์ให้พร้อมสำหรับงานรับใช้ และเสริมสร้างร่างกายของพระคริสต์
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
13จนกว่าเราทุกคนจะบรรลุถึงความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวในความเชื่อและการรู้จักพระบุตรของพระเจ้า จนมีความเป็นผู้ใหญ่เต็มที่ และถึงระดับความเป็นผู้ใหญ่ตามความเต็มเปี่ยมของพระคริสต์
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
14เพื่อเราจะไม่เป็นเด็กอีกต่อไป ถูกคลื่นซัดไปมา และถูกลมแห่งคำสอนทุกชนิดพัดพาไป ด้วยเล่ห์กลของมนุษย์และอุบายที่ชักนำให้หลงผิด
15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
15แต่ให้เราพูดความจริงด้วยความรัก และเติบโตขึ้นในทุกด้านไปสู่พระองค์ผู้เป็นศีรษะ คือพระคริสต์
16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
16จากพระองค์ ร่างกายทั้งหมดถูกประกอบและเชื่อมเข้าด้วยกันด้วยสิ่งที่ข้อต่อแต่ละส่วนจัดหาให้ เมื่อแต่ละส่วนทำงานตามกำลังของตน ร่างกายก็เติบโตและเสริมสร้างตนเองขึ้นด้วยความรัก
17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
17ข้าพเจ้าจึงกล่าวและยืนยันในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า พวกคุณอย่าดำเนินชีวิตเหมือนคนต่างชาติคนอื่น ๆ อีกต่อไป ซึ่งดำเนินชีวิตตามความคิดอันว่างเปล่า
18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
18ความเข้าใจของพวกเขามืดมน และพวกเขาถูกตัดขาดจากชีวิตของพระเจ้า ทั้งเพราะความไม่รู้ที่อยู่ในตัวพวกเขา และเพราะหัวใจของพวกเขาแข็งกระด้าง
19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
19เมื่อหมดความรู้สึกผิดชอบ พวกเขาก็ปล่อยตัวตามความใคร่ หมกมุ่นทำสิ่งไม่บริสุทธิ์ทุกอย่างอย่างไม่รู้จักพอ
20But ye have not so learned Christ;
20แต่พวกคุณไม่ได้เรียนรู้พระคริสต์แบบนั้น
21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
21ถ้าพวกคุณได้ยินพระองค์จริง และได้รับคำสอนในพระองค์ ตามความจริงที่อยู่ในพระเยซู
22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
22ก็จงถอดคนเก่าของพวกคุณออก ในส่วนที่เกี่ยวกับวิถีชีวิตเดิม คนเก่านั้นกำลังเสื่อมสลายตามความอยากที่หลอกลวง
23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
23และให้ความคิดจิตใจส่วนลึกของพวกคุณได้รับการเปลี่ยนใหม่
24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
24แล้วสวมคนใหม่ ผู้ถูกสร้างขึ้นตามแบบของพระเจ้าในความชอบธรรมและความบริสุทธิ์ที่มาจากความจริง
25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
25เมื่อเลิกพูดโกหกแล้ว แต่ละคนจงพูดความจริงกับเพื่อนบ้าน เพราะเราเป็นอวัยวะของกันและกัน
26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
26“แม้จะโกรธ ก็อย่าทำบาป” อย่าปล่อยให้ความโกรธค้างอยู่จนดวงอาทิตย์ตก
27Neither give place to the devil.
27และอย่าเปิดช่องแก่มาร
28Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
28คนที่เคยขโมยก็อย่าขโมยอีก แต่ให้ทำงานหนัก ใช้มือของตนทำสิ่งที่ดี เพื่อจะมีสิ่งแบ่งปันให้คนที่ขัดสน
29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
29อย่าให้คำพูดเสื่อมทรามออกจากปากของพวกคุณ แต่จงพูดเฉพาะสิ่งที่ดีและช่วยเสริมสร้างผู้อื่นตามความจำเป็น เพื่อถ้อยคำนั้นจะนำพระคุณมาสู่ผู้ฟัง
30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
30อย่าทำให้พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ของพระเจ้าเสียใจ เพราะพวกคุณได้รับตราประทับในพระองค์สำหรับวันแห่งการไถ่
31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
31จงกำจัดความขมขื่น ความเดือดดาล ความโกรธ การตะโกนด่าทอ การใส่ร้าย และความมุ่งร้ายทุกอย่างออกจากพวกคุณ
32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
32จงมีเมตตาต่อกัน มีใจอ่อนโยน และยกโทษให้กัน เหมือนที่พระเจ้ายกโทษให้พวกคุณในพระคริสต์
