1And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;
1ส่วนพวกคุณ พระองค์ทำให้พวกคุณมีชีวิตขึ้น ทั้งที่พวกคุณตายอยู่เพราะการละเมิดและบาปของตน
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
2เมื่อก่อนพวกคุณดำเนินชีวิตอยู่ในสิ่งเหล่านั้น ตามวิถีของโลกนี้ และตามผู้ครองอำนาจในอากาศ คือวิญญาณที่กำลังทำงานอยู่ในบรรดาลูกแห่งความไม่เชื่อฟัง
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
3เราทุกคนก็เคยใช้ชีวิตอยู่ท่ามกลางคนเหล่านั้น ตามความอยากของเนื้อหนัง ทำตามความปรารถนาของเนื้อหนังและความคิด และโดยธรรมชาติเราก็เป็นลูกที่อยู่ใต้พระพิโรธเหมือนคนอื่น ๆ
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
4พระเจ้าเปี่ยมด้วยพระเมตตา เพราะความรักอันยิ่งใหญ่ที่พระองค์รักเรา
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
5แม้ตอนที่เราตายอยู่เพราะการละเมิด พระองค์ก็ทำให้เรามีชีวิตร่วมกับพระคริสต์ พวกคุณได้รับความรอดโดยพระคุณ
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
6พระองค์ทำให้เราฟื้นขึ้นพร้อมกับพระคริสต์ และให้เรานั่งร่วมกับพระองค์ในแดนสวรรค์ในพระคริสต์เยซู
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
7เพื่อในยุคต่าง ๆ ที่จะมา พระองค์จะแสดงความอุดมเหลือล้นแห่งพระคุณของพระองค์ ด้วยความกรุณาที่มีต่อเราในพระคริสต์เยซู
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
8พวกคุณได้รับความรอดโดยพระคุณอาศัยความเชื่อ สิ่งนี้ไม่ได้มาจากตัวพวกคุณเอง แต่เป็นของขวัญจากพระเจ้า
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
9ไม่ได้มาจากการกระทำ เพื่อไม่ให้ใครอวดได้
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
10เราเป็นสิ่งที่พระองค์สร้างขึ้นในพระคริสต์เยซู เพื่อทำการดี ซึ่งพระเจ้าเตรียมไว้ล่วงหน้าให้เราดำเนินชีวิตในสิ่งเหล่านั้น
11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
11ดังนั้น ขอให้พวกคุณระลึกว่า เมื่อก่อนพวกคุณเป็นคนต่างชาติตามเนื้อหนัง ถูกพวกที่เรียกกันว่า “พวกเข้าสุหนัต” เรียกว่า “พวกไม่เข้าสุหนัต” การเข้าสุหนัตนั้นทำกับเนื้อหนังด้วยมือมนุษย์
12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
12ในเวลานั้น พวกคุณแยกจากพระคริสต์ ไม่มีส่วนในความเป็นพลเมืองของอิสราเอล และเป็นคนแปลกหน้าต่อพันธสัญญาต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวกับพระสัญญา ไม่มีความหวัง และอยู่ในโลกโดยปราศจากพระเจ้า
13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
13บัดนี้ในพระคริสต์เยซู พวกคุณที่เคยอยู่ห่างไกลได้เข้ามาใกล้ด้วยเลือดของพระคริสต์
14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us ;
14พระองค์เองเป็นสันติสุขของเรา พระองค์ทำให้ทั้งสองฝ่ายเป็นหนึ่งเดียว และทลายกำแพงกั้นกลางที่ทำให้แยกจากกัน
15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
15ด้วยเนื้อหนังของพระองค์ พระองค์ทำลายความเป็นศัตรู คือธรรมบัญญัติซึ่งประกอบด้วยข้อบัญญัติที่กำหนดไว้เป็นกฎเกณฑ์ เพื่อสร้างมนุษย์ใหม่หนึ่งคนจากทั้งสองฝ่ายในพระองค์เอง และทำให้เกิดสันติสุข
16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
16และเพื่อให้ทั้งสองฝ่ายคืนดีกับพระเจ้าในร่างกายเดียวผ่านกางเขน โดยกางเขนนั้นพระองค์ได้ฆ่าความเป็นศัตรูเสีย
17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
17พระองค์มาประกาศสันติสุขแก่พวกคุณที่อยู่ห่างไกล และแก่คนที่อยู่ใกล้
18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
18โดยพระองค์ เราทั้งสองฝ่ายจึงเข้าถึงพระบิดาได้ในพระวิญญาณองค์เดียว
19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
19พวกคุณจึงไม่ใช่คนแปลกหน้าหรือคนต่างถิ่นอีกต่อไป แต่เป็นพลเมืองร่วมกับผู้บริสุทธิ์ และเป็นคนในครอบครัวของพระเจ้า
20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone ;
20พวกคุณถูกสร้างขึ้นบนรากฐานของเหล่าอัครทูตและผู้เผยพระวจนะ โดยมีพระคริสต์เยซูเองเป็นศิลาหัวมุม
21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
21ในพระองค์ อาคารทั้งหมดประกอบเข้าด้วยกันอย่างพอดี และเติบโตเป็นวิหารบริสุทธิ์ในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
22ในพระองค์ พวกคุณก็ถูกสร้างร่วมกันให้เป็นที่ประทับของพระเจ้าในพระวิญญาณ
