1And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;
1I vás obživil mrtvé vinami a hříchy,
2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
2V nichž jste někdy chodili podle obyčeje světa tohoto a podle knížete mocného v povětří, ducha toho, kterýž nyní dělá v synech zpoury.
3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
3Mezi nimižto i my všickni žili jsme někdy v žádostech těla našeho, činivše to, což se líbilo tělu a mysli, a byli jsme z přirození synové hněvu jako i jiní.
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
4Ale Bůh, bohatý jsa v milosrdenství pro velikou lásku svou, kteroužto zamiloval nás,
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
5Když jsme my ještě mrtví byli v hříších, obživil nás spolu s Kristem, jehož milostí jste spaseni,
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
6A spolu s ním vzkřísil, i posadil na nebesích v Kristu Ježíši,
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
7Aby ukázal v věku budoucím nepřevýšené bohatství milosti své, z dobroty své k nám v Kristu Ježíši.
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
8Nebo milostí spaseni jste skrze víru, a to ne sami z sebe: darť jest to Boží,
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
9Ne z skutků, aby se někdo nechlubil.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
10Jsme zajisté jeho dílo, jsouce stvořeni v Kristu Ježíši k skutkům dobrým, kteréž Bůh připravil, abychom v nich chodili.
11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
11Protož pamatujte, že vy byli někdy pohané podle těla, kteříž jste slouli neobřízka od těch, kteříž slouli obřízka na těle, kteráž se působí rukama,
12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
12A že jste byli za onoho času bez Krista, odcizeni od společnosti Izraele, a cizí od úmluv zaslíbení, naděje nemající, a bez Boha na světě.
13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
13Ale nyní v Kristu Ježíši vy, kteříž jste někdy byli dalecí, blízcí učiněni jste skrze krev Kristovu.
14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us ;
14Nebo onť jest pokoj náš, kterýž učinil oboje jedno, zbořiv hradbu dělící na různo,
15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
15A nepřátelství, totiž Zákon přikázání, záležející v ustanoveních, vyprázdniv skrze tělo své, aby dvoje vzdělal v samém sobě v jednoho nového člověka, tak čině pokoj,
16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
16A v mír uvodě oboje v jednom těle Bohu skrze kříž, vyhladiv nepřátelství skrze něj.
17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
17A přišed, zvěstoval pokoj vám, dalekým i blízkým.
18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
18Neboť skrze něho obojí máme přístup v jednom Duchu k Otci.
19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
19Aj, již tedy nejste hosté a příchozí, ale spoluměšťané svatých a domácí Boží,
20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone ;
20Vzdělaní na základ apoštolský a prorocký, kdežto jest gruntovní úhelný kámen sám Ježíš Kristus,
21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
21Na němžto všecko stavení příslušně vzdělané roste v chrám svatý v Pánu;
22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
22Na kterémžto i vy spolu vzděláváte se v příbytek Boží, v Duchu svatém.
