1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
1Оце ж будьте послїдувателями Божими, як любі дїти,
2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
2і ходїть у любові, яко ж і Христос улюбив нас і оддав себе за нас на жертву і на посьвят Богу, у солодкі пахощі.
3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
3Блуд же і всяка нечистота або зажерливість нехай і не згадуєть ся між вами, як подобає сьвятим,
4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
4нї безсором і дурні слова, або жарти і неподобиє; а лучче дякуваннє.
5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
5Се бо знайте, що нї один блудник, або нечистий, або зажерливий, котрий єсть ідолослужитель, не має наслїддя в царстві Христа і Бога.
6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
6Нехай нїхто не зводить вас марними словами, бо за се приходить гнїв Божий на синів непокірних.
7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
7Не бувайте ж спільниками їх.
8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
8Ви бо були колись тьмою, тепер же (ви) сьвітло в Господї; ходїть же яко дїти сьвітла:
9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
9(бо овощ духа — у всякій добростї і праведностї і правдї,)
10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
10допевняючись, що єсть угодне Богові.
11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them .
11І не приставайте до неплідних дїл тьми, а лучче ж винуйте їх.
12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
12Що бо дїєть ся потай у них, соромно й казати.
13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
13Усе ж обвинувачене від сьвітла виявляєть ся; все бо виявлене єсть сьвітло.
14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
14Того ж то глаголе: Устань, сонний, і воскресни з мертвих, то й осьвітить тебе Христос.
15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
15Гледїть же, як би вам оглядно ходити, не яко немудрі, а яко мудрі,
16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
16викуплюючи час, бо днї лихі.
17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is .
17Тим-то не бувайте нерозумними, а розумійте, що єсть Божа воля.
18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
18І не впивайтесь вином, бо в йому розпуст, а сповняйте себе Духом,
19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
19бесїдуючи між собою псальмами, та гимнами, та піснями духовними, сьпіваючи та виграючи в серцях ваших Господеві,
20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
20дякуючи всякого часу за все в імя Господа нашого Ісуса Христа Богові і Отцеві,
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
21корючись один одному в страху Божім.
22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
22Жінки, коріть ся своїм чоловікам, як Господеві,
23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
23тим що чоловік голова жінки, як і Христос голова церкви, і Він спаситель тїла.
24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
24А як церква корить ся Христу, так і жінки своїм чоловікам у всьому.
25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
25Чоловіки, любіть своїх жінок, як і Христос полюбив церкву, і себе видав за неї,
26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
26щоб осьвятити її, очистивши купіллю води у слові,
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
27щоб поставити її перед собою славною церквою, що не має скази або пороку або чого такого, а щоб була сьвята і непорочна.
28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
28Так мусять чоловіки любити своїх жінок, як свої тїла; хто бо любить свою жінку, себе самого любить.
29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
29Нїхто бо ще нїколи тїла свого не зненавидїв, а годує і гріє його, яко ж і Господь церкву;
30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
30тим що ми члени тїла Його, від тїла Його і від костей Його.
31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
31Того-то покине чоловік батька свого й матїр, і пригорнеть ся до жінки своєї, і будуть удвох одно тїло.
32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
32Тайна се велика, я ж глаголю що до Христа і до церкви.
33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
33Тим то і ви по одному кожен свою жінку так нехай любить, як і себе, а жінка нехай боїть ся свого чоловіка.
