1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1ทุกคนที่เชื่อว่าพระเยซูคือพระคริสต์ก็เกิดจากพระเจ้า ทุกคนที่รักพระบิดาก็รักลูกที่เกิดจากพระองค์ด้วย
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
2เรารู้ว่าเรารักลูกของพระเจ้าได้อย่างนี้: เมื่อเรารักพระเจ้าและปฏิบัติตามพระบัญชาของพระองค์
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
3การรักพระเจ้าก็คือการปฏิบัติตามพระบัญชาของพระองค์ และพระบัญชาของพระองค์ไม่เป็นภาระหนัก
4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
4เพราะทุกสิ่งที่เกิดจากพระเจ้าชนะโลก และชัยชนะที่เอาชนะโลกได้ก็คือความเชื่อของพวกคุณ
5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
5ใครกันที่ชนะโลกได้ ถ้าไม่ใช่คนที่เชื่อว่าพระเยซูคือพระบุตรของพระเจ้า?
6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
6พระเยซูคริสต์คือผู้ที่มาด้วยน้ำและเลือด ไม่ใช่ด้วยน้ำเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่ด้วยน้ำและเลือด และพระวิญญาณเป็นพยาน เพราะพระวิญญาณคือความจริง
7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
7เพราะผู้เป็นพยานมีสาม คือ:
8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
8คือพระวิญญาณ น้ำ และเลือด และทั้งสามสอดคล้องกันเป็นหนึ่งเดียว
9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
9ถ้าเรายอมรับคำพยานของมนุษย์ คำพยานของพระเจ้าก็ยิ่งใหญ่กว่า เพราะนี่คือคำพยานของพระเจ้าที่พระองค์เป็นพยานเกี่ยวกับพระบุตรของพระองค์
10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
10คนที่เชื่อในพระบุตรของพระเจ้ามีคำพยานนั้นอยู่ในตนเอง คนที่ไม่เชื่อพระเจ้าก็ทำให้พระองค์เป็นผู้โกหก เพราะเขาไม่เชื่อคำพยานที่พระเจ้าให้ไว้เกี่ยวกับพระบุตรของพระองค์
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
11คำพยานนั้นคือ พระเจ้าประทานชีวิตนิรันดร์แก่เรา และชีวิตนี้อยู่ในพระบุตรของพระองค์
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
12คนที่มีพระบุตรก็มีชีวิต คนที่ไม่มีพระบุตรของพระเจ้าก็ไม่มีชีวิต
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
13ข้าพเจ้าเขียนสิ่งเหล่านี้ถึงพวกคุณที่เชื่อในพระนามของพระบุตรของพระเจ้า เพื่อให้รู้ว่าพวกคุณมีชีวิตนิรันดร์ และเพื่อให้เชื่อในพระนามของพระบุตรของพระเจ้าต่อไป
14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
14นี่คือความมั่นใจที่เรามีต่อพระองค์: ถ้าเราขอสิ่งใดตามที่พระองค์ประสงค์ พระองค์ก็รับฟังเรา
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
15และถ้าเรารู้ว่าพระองค์ฟังเรา ไม่ว่าเราจะขออะไร เราก็รู้ว่าเราได้รับสิ่งที่ขอจากพระองค์
16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
16ถ้าใครเห็นพี่น้องของตนทำบาปที่ไม่นำไปสู่ความตาย ให้คนนั้นขอ แล้วพระเจ้าจะประทานชีวิตแก่เขาเพื่อผู้ที่ทำบาปซึ่งไม่นำไปสู่ความตาย มีบาปที่นำไปสู่ความตาย ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้บอกให้เขาขอในเรื่องบาปนั้น
17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
17ความไม่ชอบธรรมทุกอย่างเป็นบาป และมีบาปที่ไม่นำไปสู่ความตาย
18We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
18เรารู้ว่าทุกคนที่เกิดจากพระเจ้าไม่ทำบาป แต่ผู้ที่เกิดจากพระเจ้ารักษาตนเองไว้ และผู้ชั่วร้ายไม่แตะต้องเขา
19And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
19เรารู้ว่าเรามาจากพระเจ้า และทั้งโลกตกอยู่ใต้อำนาจของผู้ชั่วร้าย
20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
20เรารู้ว่าพระบุตรของพระเจ้าได้มาแล้ว และประทานความเข้าใจแก่เรา เพื่อให้เรารู้จักพระองค์ผู้เที่ยงแท้ และเราอยู่ในพระองค์ผู้เที่ยงแท้ ในพระบุตรของพระองค์ คือพระเยซูคริสต์ นี่คือพระเจ้าเที่ยงแท้ และชีวิตนิรันดร์
21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
