Jeremiah 45

1The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
1ユダの王ヨシヤの子エホヤキムの治世第四年に、ネリヤの子バルクがエレミヤの口述に従ってこれらの言葉を書物に書き記した時、預言者エレミヤが彼に語った言葉。
2'Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning thee, O Baruch: Thou didst say:
2「バルクよ、イスラエルの神、主はあなたにこう言われる。
3Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.
3あなたは言った。『ああ、私は災いだ。主は私の痛みに悲しみを加えられた。私は嘆き疲れ、安らぎを得られない。』」
4Thus shalt thou say unto him: Thus saith the LORD: Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up; and this in the whole land.
4「あなたは彼にこう言え。主はこう言われる。『見よ、わたしは自分が建てたものを打ち壊し、自分が植えたものを引き抜く。この全地に対してそうする。
5And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not; for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD; but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.'
5あなたは自分のために大いなることを求めるのか。それを求めてはならない。見よ、わたしはすべての人に災いをもたらすからだ』と、主は言われる。『しかし、あなたがどこへ行っても、命だけは助ける。』」
