1私が目を上げて見ると、見よ、測り縄を手に持つ一人の人がいた。
1(2-5) And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2私は尋ねた。「どこへ行くのですか。」 彼は私に言った。「エルサレムの幅と長さがどれほどかを知るために、これを測りに行く。」
2(2-6) Then said I: 'Whither goest thou?' And he said unto me: 'To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.'
3見よ、私と話していた御使いが出て行くと、もう一人の御使いが彼に会うために出て来た。
3(2-7) And, behold, the angel that spoke with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
4彼はその御使いに言った。「走って、あの若者にこう告げよ。『エルサレムは、その中に人と家畜があふれるため、城壁のない村々のように広がる。
4(2-8) and said unto him: 'Run, speak to this young man, saying: 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein.
5私がその周囲を囲む火の城壁となり、そのただ中の栄光となる』と主は言われる。
5(2-9) For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
6『さあ、さあ、北の地から逃げよ』と主は言われる。『私はあなたがたを天の四方の風のように散らしたからだ』と主は言われる。
6(2-10) Ho, ho, flee then from the land of the north, saith the LORD; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
7『シオンよ、さあ逃れよ。バビロンの娘とともに住む者よ。』
7(2-11) Ho, Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.'
8万軍の主はこう言われる。『ご自分の栄光のために、主はあなたがたを略奪した国々へ私を遣わされた。あなたがたに触れる者は、主の瞳に触れる者だからだ。
8(2-12) For thus saith the LORD of hosts who sent me after glory unto the nations which spoiled you: 'Surely, he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
9見よ、私は彼らに向かって手を振る。彼らは自分たちに仕えていた者たちの略奪物となる。その時、あなたがたは万軍の主が私を遣わされたことを知る。
9(2-13) For, behold, I will shake My hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them'; and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
10シオンの娘よ、歌い、喜べ。見よ、私は来て、あなたの中に住む』と主は言われる。
10(2-14) 'Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
11その日、多くの国々が主に結びついて、私の民となる。私はあなたの中に住む。その時、あなたは万軍の主が私をあなたに遣わされたことを知る。
11(2-15) And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee'; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
12主は聖なる地でユダをご自分の受け継ぐ分とし、再びエルサレムを選ばれる。
12(2-16) And the LORD shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
13すべての肉なる者よ、主の前で静まれ。主はその聖なる住まいから立ち上がられたからだ。」
13(2-17) Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused out of His holy habitation.
