1「子を産まなかった不妊の女よ、歌え。 産みの苦しみを味わわなかった女よ、喜び歌い、声を上げよ。 夫のある女の子どもより、見捨てられた女の子どものほうが多くなるからだ」と主は言われる。
1Give praise, O thou barren, that bearest not: sing forth praise, and make a joyful noise, thou that didst not travail with child: for many are the children of the desolate, more than of her that hath a husband, saith the Lord.
2「あなたの天幕の場所を広げ、 住まいの幕を広く張れ。 惜しんではならない。綱を長くし、杭を強くせよ。
2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and stretch out the skins of thy tabernacles, spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.
3あなたは右にも左にも広がり、 あなたの子孫は国々を所有し、 荒れ果てた町々に人を住まわせるからだ。
3For thou shalt pass on to the right hand, and to the left: and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and shall inhabit the desolate cities.
4恐れてはならない。あなたは恥を受けないからだ。 うろたえてはならない。あなたは失望しないからだ。 あなたは若い時の恥を忘れ、 やもめであった時の辱めを、もう思い出さない。
4Fear not, for thou shalt not be confounded, nor blush: for thou shalt not be put to shame, because thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt remember no more the reproach of thy widowhood.
5あなたを造られた方はあなたの夫。 その名は万軍の主。 イスラエルの聖なる方は、あなたを贖う方。 全地の神と呼ばれる。
5For he that made thee shall rule over thee, the Lord of hosts is his name: and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of all the earth.
6主はあなたを、捨てられて心を悲しませた妻、 若い時に妻となったのに捨てられた女のように呼び戻された」と、あなたの神は言われる。
6For the Lord hath called thee as woman forsaken and mourning in spirit, and as a wife cast off from her youth, said thy God.
7「ほんのわずかな間、わたしはあなたを見捨てたが、 大いなるあわれみをもって、あなたを集める。
7For a, small moment have I forsaken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8怒りがあふれた時、ほんの一瞬、わたしはあなたから顔を隠した。 しかし、永遠の慈しみをもって、あなたをあわれむ」と、あなたを贖う方である主は言われる。
8In a moment of indignation have I hid my face a little while from thee, but with everlasting kindness have I had mercy on thee, said the Lord thy Redeemer.
9「これはわたしにとって、ノアの洪水の時のようなものだ。 ノアの洪水が二度と地を覆わないと誓ったように、 わたしはあなたに怒らず、あなたを叱らないと誓った。
9This thing is to me as in the days of Noe, to whom I swore, that I would no more bring in the waters of Noe upon the earth: so have I sworn not to be angry with thee, and not to rebuke thee.
10山々が去り、 丘々が移っても、 わたしの慈しみはあなたから去らず、 わたしの平和の契約は動かされない」と、 あなたをあわれむ主は言われる。
10For the mountains shall be moved, and the hills shall tremble; but my mercy shall not depart from thee, and the covenant of my peace shall not be moved: said the Lord that hath mercy on thee.
11「苦しめられ、嵐にもまれ、慰められなかった女よ。 見よ、わたしは美しい色であなたの石を据え、 サファイアであなたの基を置く。
11O poor little one, tossed with tempest, without all comfort, behold I will lay thy stones in order, and will lay thy foundations with sapphires,
12わたしはあなたの小塔をルビーで、 門を輝く宝石で造り、 城壁をすべて宝石で造る。
12And I will make thy bulwarks of jasper: and thy gates of graven stones, and all thy borders of desirable stones.
13あなたの子どもたちはみな主に教えられ、 あなたの子どもたちの平和は大きい。
13All thy children shall be taught of the Lord: and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14あなたは義によって堅く立てられる。 虐げから遠く離れ、 恐れることはない。 恐怖からも遠く離れ、 それがあなたに近づくことはない。
14And thou shalt be founded in justice: depart far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.
15見よ、彼らが集まっても、それはわたしによるのではない。 あなたに敵対して集まる者は、あなたのゆえに倒れる。
15Behold, an inhabitant shall come, who was not with me, he that was a stranger to thee before, shall be joined to thee.
16見よ、炭火をあおって炎を起こし、 自分の仕事のために武器を造る鍛冶屋を創造したのは、わたしである。 滅ぼすために破壊する者を創造したのも、わたしである。
16Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and bringeth forth an instrument for his work, and I have created the killer to destroy.
17あなたに向かって造られるどの武器も勝つことはない。 裁きの場であなたに逆らって立つすべての舌を、あなたは罪に定める。 これが主のしもべたちの受け継ぐもの。 彼らの義はわたしから出る」と主は言われる。
17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and their justice with me, saith the Lord.
