1He that loveth correction, loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is foolish.
1Thuitaekhaih koeh kami loe palungha kami ah oh; toe zoehhaih hnuma kami loe amthu kami ni.
2He that is good, shall draw grace from the Lord: but he that trusteth in his own devices doth wickedly.
2Kahoih kami mah loe Angraeng palung anghoesak; toe kahoih ai hmuen poek kami loe lokcaekhaih to hnu tih.
3Men shall not be strengthened by wickedness: and the root of the just shall not be moved.
3Kahoih ai hmuen mah kami tangzun caksak ai; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aphong thai mak ai.
4A diligent woman is a crown to her husband: and she that doth things worthy of confusion, is a rottenness in his bones.
4Tuinuen kahoih zu loe a sava han sui lumuek ah oh; toe ahmin saesak zu loe sava ih ahuh to hmawnsak.
5The thoughts of the just are judgments: and the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.
5Katoeng kami poekhaih loe toeng; toe kasae kaminawk ih lok loe alinghaih ah oh.
6The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood: the mouth of the just shall deliver them.
6Kasae kami ih lok loe minawk athii palonghaih to zing; toe katoeng kami ih lok loe minawk to pahlong.
7Turn the wicked, and they shall not be: but the house of the just shall stand firm.
7Kasae kami ih im loe amtim ueloe, anghmaa tih; toe katoeng kami ih im loe kacakah angdoe poe tih.
8A man shall be known by his learning: but he that is vain and foolish, shall be exposed to contempt.
8Palungha kami loe minawk mah pakoehhaih to hnuk; toe poek angkawn kami loe minawk mah hnap.
9Better is the poor man that provideth for himself, than he that is glorious and wanteth bread.
9Angmah hoi angmah angraeng ah amkoeh, caaknaek tawn ai kami pongah loe, kami mah patoek e, caaknaek tawn toksah kami to hoih kue.
10The just regardeth the lives of his beasts: but the bowels of the wicked are cruel.
10Katoeng kaminawk loe a pacah ih moinawk nuiah tahmenhaih to tawnh; toe hmawsaenghaih loe kasae kaminawk ih tahmenhaih sang koek ah oh.
11He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that pursueth idleness is very foolish. He that is delighted in passing his time over wine, leaveth a reproach in his strong holds.
11Angmah ih lawk phrawk kami loe zok amhah tih; toe palungha ai kami loe tidoeh avang ai kami hnukah bang.
12The desire of the wicked is the fortification of evil men: but the root of the just shall prosper.
12Katoeng ai kami loe kasae kami ih palok to patoh han koeh; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aquih tacawt.
13For the sins of the lips ruin draweth nigh to the evil mall: but the just shall escape out of distress.
13Kasae kami loe a pahni zaehaih mah dongh pongah amansak; toe kami katoeng loe raihaih thung hoiah loih.
14By the fruit of his own mouth shall a man be filled with good things, and according to the works of his hands it shall be repaid him.
14Kami loe angmah pahni athaih hoiah zok amhah tih; a ban hoi sak ih kasae kahoih hmuen baktih toengah atho doeh hnu tih.
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsels.
15Kamthu loe a caehhaih loklam to kamsoem ah a hnuk; toe palungha kami loe minawk mah thuih ih lok to tahngaih.
16A fool immediately sheweth his anger: but he that dissembleth injuries is wise.
16Kamthu loe palungphuihaih to amtuengsak roep; toe palungha kami loe azat koi hmuen to angphat.
17He that speaketh that which he knoweth, sheweth forth justice: but he that lieth, is a deceitful witness.
17Loktang thui kami loe toenghaih to amtuengsak; amsawnlok pongah hnukung ah angdoe kami loe alinghaih to amtuengsak.
18There is that promiseth, and is pricked as it were with a sword of conscience: but the tongue of the wise is health.
18Sumsen hoi thunh ih baktiah lok apae kami to oh; toe palungha kami ih palai mah loe kami ngantuisak.
19The lip of truth shall be steadfast for ever: but he that is a hasty witness, frameth a lying tongue.
19Loktang pahni loe dungzan khoek to cak; toe amsawnlok loe nawnetta ni oh.
20Deceit is in the heart of them that think evil things: but joy followeth them that take counsels of peace.
20Kahoih ai hmuen poek kaminawk ih palung thungah alinghaih to oh; toe angdaehhaih sah kaminawk loe anghoehaih tawnh o.
21Whatsoever shall befall the just man. it shall not make him sad: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
21Katoeng kaminawk khaeah sethaih pha mak ai; toe kasae kami loe tahamsethaih hoiah koi tih.
22Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deal faithfully please him.
22Lok amlai palai loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih hoi khosah kaminawk loe Angraeng mah palung.
23A cautious man concealeth knowledge: and the heart of fools publisheth folly.
23Palungha kami loe panoekhaih to angphat; toe amthu ih palungthin mah loe amthuhaih to amtuengsak.
24The hand of the valiant shall bear rule: but that which is slothful, shall be under tribute.
24Thahoih ban mah kami to uk tih; toe thasae kami loe misong ah om tih.
25Grief in the heart of a man shall bring him low, but with a good word he shall be made glad.
25Palungsethaih mah kami palungboengsak; thapaekhaih lok mah poek nawmsak.
26He that neglecteth a loss for the sake of a friend, is just: but the way of the wicked shall deceive them.
26Katoeng kami loe a imtaeng kami to loklam patuek; toe kahoih ai kami ih loklam mah nihcae to loklam anghmangsak.
27The deceitful man shall not find gain: but the substance of a just man shall be precious gold.
27Thasae kami loe a kah ih moi paaem han mataeng doeh paqak; thahoih kami ih tacong loe atho oh.
28In the path of justice is life: but the by-way leadeth to death.
28Toenghaih loklam ah duekhaih om ai, hinghaih ni oh.
