1A deceitful balance is an abomination before the Lord: and a just weight is his will.
1Angraeng loe katoeng ai tahhaih to pahnuet; toe katoeng tahhaih nuiah loe anghoehaih tawnh.
2Where pride is, there also shall be reproach: but where humility is, there also is wisdom.
2Amoekhaih oh naah, azathaih to oh; toe minawk tlim ah khosah kami khaeah loe palunghahaih to oh.
3The simplicity of the just shall guide them: and the deceitfulness of the wicked shall destroy them.
3Poektoeng kami loe toenghaih mah zaeh; toe poeksae kami loe poeksethaih mah amrosak tih.
4Riches shall not profit in the day of revenge: but justice shall deliver from death.
4Sithaw palungphui naah angraenghaih mah na bomh mak ai; toe toenghaih mah loe duekhaih thung hoiah pahlong.
5The justice of the upright shall make his way prosperous: and the wicked man shall fall by his own wickedness.
5Coek koi om ai katoeng kami loe toenghaih mah loklam to hnuksak; toe kasae kami loe a sethaih mah amtimsak tik.
6The justice of the righteous shall deliver them: and the unjust shall be caught in their own snares.
6Katoeng kaminawk loe angmacae toenghaih mah nihcae to pahlong tih; toe sethaih sah kaminawk loe angmacae sethaih pongah aman o tih.
7When the wicked man is dead, there shall be no hope any more: and the expectation of the solicitous shall perish.
7Kahoih ai kami duek naah, anih oephaih doeh anghma tih; poektoeng ai kaminawk ih oephaih loe anghmat.
8The just is delivered out of distress: and the wicked shall be given up for him.
8Katoeng kami to raihaih thung hoiah pahlong, anih zuengah kasae kami nuiah raihaih to phak.
9The dissembler with his mouth deceiveth his friend: but the just shall be delivered by knowledge.
9Angsah thaih kami loe pronghaih lok hoiah a imtaeng kami to amrosak; toe katoeng kami loe palunghahaih hoiah loi tih.
10When it goeth well with the just the city shall rejoice: and when the wicked perish there shall be praise.
10Katoeng kami khosak hoih naah, vangpui to anghoe; kasae kami duek naah loe, anghoe hoi hanghaih lok to oh.
11By the blessing of the just the city shall be exalted: and by the mouth of the wicked it shall be overthrown.
11Katoeng kami tahamhoih naah, vangpui to pakoeh ah oh; toe kasae kami ih pakha mah loe vangpui to amrosak.
12He that despiseth his friend, is mean of heart: but the wise man will hold his peace.
12Palunghahaih tawn ai kami loe, a imtaeng kami to khet patoek; toe palunghahaih tawn kami loe a palai to ciipsak.
13He that walketh deceitfully, revealeth secrets: but he that is faithful, concealeth the thing committed to him by his friend.
13Lokpung kami loe tamqu hmuen to taphong; toe oepthok kami loe tamqu hmuen to angphat.
14Where there is no governor, the people shall fall: but there is safety where there is much counsel.
14Zaehhoihaih om ai naah, prae kaminawk amro o; toe poekhaih paek thaih kami pop tawnh naah ngancuemhaih to oh.
15He shall be afflicted with evil, that is surety for a stranger: but he that is aware of the snares, shall be secure.
15Angvin ih laiba pathok pae hanah lokkam kami loe poek angpho tih; toe to tiah lokkam ai kami loe mawnhaih tawn mak ai.
16A gracious woman shall find glory: and the strong shall have riches.
16Tahmenhaih tawn nongpata loe khingzahaih to hak; toe thahoih nongpanawk loe angraeng o.
17A merciful man doth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel casteth off even his own kindred.
17Tahmenhaih tawn kami loe tangqum to hak; toe hmawsaeng kami loe a taksa raihaih paek kami ah ni oh.
18The wicked maketh an unsteady work: but to him that soweth justice, there is a faithful reward.
18Kasae kami loe alinghaih atho to hnuk; toe toenghaih tuh kami loe amkhrai thai ai tangqum to hak.
19Clemency prepareth life: and the pursuing of evil things, death.
19Toenghaih loe hinghaih ah oh baktih toengah, sethaih hnukah patom kami loe a duekhaih ni patom.
20A perverse heart is abominable to the Lord: and his will is in them that walk sincerely.
20Poek angkawn kami loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih loklam pazui kami nuiah loe anghoehaih to tawnh.
21Hand in hand the evil man shall not be innocent: but the seed of the just shall be saved.
21Kasae kaminawk loe nawnto amhong o cadoeh, danpaek ai ah om mak ai; toe katoeng kaminawk ih caa loe loihsak tih.
22A golden ring in a swine’s snout, a woman fair and foolish.
22Khopoek thai ai kranghoih nongpata loe, ok tahmawh nui ih sui bantuek baktiah ni oh.
23The desire of the just is all good: the expectation of the wicked is indignation.
23Katoeng kami loe kahoih hmuen khue ni koeh; toe kasae kami ih oephaih loe palungphuihaih hae ni.
24Some distribute their own goods, and grow richer: others take away what is not their own, and are always in want.
24Cangti haeh kami loe pop aep ah hak; angaihaih pong kamthlai ah patung kami loe amtang aep.
25The soul which blesseth, shall be made fat: and he that inebriateth, shall be inebriated also himself.
25Kuuhoih kami loe angraeng; minawk han tuibawh kami loe, angmah doeh tuibawh ah om toeng tih.
26He that hideth up corn, shall be cursed among the people: but a blessing upon the head of them that sell.
26Cang zawh paawt kami loe, minawk mah kasae thui tih; toe cang zaw kami ih lu loe tahamhoihaih om tih.
27Well doth he rise early who seeketh good things; but he that seeketh after evil things shall be oppressed by them.
27Kahoih hmuen pakrong kami loe hoihaih to hnuk; toe kahoih ai hmuen pakrong kami loe sethaih to hnu tih.
28He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the just shall spring up as a green leaf.
28Angmah angraenghaih oep kami loe amtim tih; toe katoeng kami loe thingqam baktiah sai tih.
29He that troubleth his own house, shall inherit the winds: and the fool shall serve the wise.
29Angmah imthung raihaih paek kami loe takhi to qawk ah toep tih; amthu loe palungha kami ih tamna ah om tih.
30The fruit of the just man is a tree of life: and he that gaineth souls, is wise.
30Hinghaih thingkung loe toenghaih thingthai ah oh; palungha kami loe minawk hinghaih to pazawk.
31If the just man receive in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner.
31Khenah, katoeng kaminawk mataeng doeh long nuiah hnuk han koi atho to hnu o nahaeloe, Sithaw panoek ai kami hoi zaehaih sak koeh kaminawk cae loe kawkruk maw danpaekhaih atho to hnu o tih!
