1以色列 眾人聚集到 希伯崙 見 大衛 ，說：「我們原是你的骨肉。
1Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying: 'Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2從前 掃羅 作王的時候，率領 以色列 人出入的是你；耶和華－你的上帝也曾應許你說：『你必牧養我的民 以色列 ，作 以色列 的君。』」
2In times past, even when Saul was king, it was thou that didst lead out and bring in Israel; and the LORD thy God said unto thee: Thou shalt feed My people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over My people Israel.'
3於是 以色列 的長老都來到 希伯崙 見 大衛 王。 大衛 在 希伯崙 耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就膏 大衛 作 以色列 的王，是照耶和華藉 撒母耳 所說的話。
3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Samuel.
4大衛 和 以色列 眾人到了 耶路撒冷 ，就是 耶布斯 ；那時 耶布斯 人住在那裏。
4And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem — the same is Jebus — and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
5耶布斯 人對 大衛 說：「你決不能進這地方。」然而 大衛 攻取 錫安 的保障，就是 大衛 的城。
5And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David: 'Thou shalt not come in hither.' Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
6大衛 說：「誰先攻打 耶布斯 人，必作首領元帥。」 洗魯雅 的兒子 約押 先上去，就作了元帥。
6And David said: 'Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.' And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
7大衛 住在保障裏，所以那保障叫作 大衛城 。
7And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
8大衛 又從 米羅 起，四圍建築城牆，其餘的是 約押 修理。
8And he built the city round about, from Millo even round about; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9大衛 日見強盛，因為萬軍之耶和華與他同在。
9And David waxed greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts was with him.
10以下記錄跟隨 大衛 勇士的首領，就是奮勇幫助他得國、照着耶和華吩咐 以色列 人的話、與 以色列 人一同立他作王的。
10Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
11大衛 勇士的數目記在下面： 哈革摩尼 的兒子 雅朔班 ，他是軍長的統領，一時舉槍殺了三百人。
11And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the captains; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them at one time.
12其次是 亞合 人 朵多 的兒子 以利亞撒 ，他是三個勇士裏的一個。
12And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13他從前與 大衛 在 巴斯‧達閔 ， 非利士 人聚集要打仗。那裏有一塊長滿大麥的田，眾民就在 非利士 人面前逃跑；
13He was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
14這勇士便站在那田間擊殺 非利士 人，救護了那田。耶和華使 以色列 人大獲全勝。
14But they stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great victory.
15三十個勇士中的三個人下到磐石那裏，進了 亞杜蘭洞 見 大衛 ； 非利士 的軍隊在 利乏音谷 安營。
15And three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, unto the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
16那時 大衛 在山寨， 非利士 人的防營在 伯利恆 。
16And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
17大衛 渴想，說：「甚願有人將 伯利恆 城門旁井裏的水打來給我喝！」
17And David longed, and said: 'Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!'
18這三個勇士就闖過 非利士 人的營盤，從 伯利恆 城門旁的井裏打水，拿來奉給 大衛 。他卻不肯喝，將水奠在耶和華面前，
18And the three broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD,
19說：「我的上帝啊，這三個人冒死去打水，這水好像他們的血一般，我斷不敢喝！」如此， 大衛 不肯喝。這是三個勇士所做的事。
19and said: 'My God forbid it me, that I should do this; shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it.' Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
20約押 的兄弟 亞比篩 是這三個勇士的首領；他舉槍殺了三百人，就在三個勇士裏得了名。
20And Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
21他在這三個勇士裏是最尊貴的，所以作他們的首領；只是不及前三個勇士。
21Of the three in the second rank he was the most honourable, and was made their captain; howbeit he attained not to the first three.
22有 甲薛 勇士 耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅 行過大能的事：他殺了 摩押 人 亞利伊勒 的兩個 兒子 ，又在下雪的時候下坑裏去殺了一個獅子，
22Beniah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he smote the two altar-hearths of Moab; he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
23又殺了一個 埃及 人。 埃及 人身高五肘，手裏拿着槍，槍桿粗如織布的機軸； 比拿雅 只拿着棍子下去，從 埃及 人手裏奪過槍來，用那槍將他刺死。
23And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24這是 耶何耶大 的兒子 比拿雅 所行的事，就在三個勇士裏得了名。
24These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
25他比那三十個勇士都尊貴，只是不及前三個勇士。 大衛 立他作護衛長。
25Behold, he was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three; and David set him over his guard.
26軍中的勇士有 約押 的兄弟 亞撒黑 ， 伯利恆 人 朵多 的兒子 伊勒哈難 ，
26Also the mighty men of valour: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
27哈律 人 沙瑪 ， 比倫 人 希利斯 ，
27Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite;
28提哥亞 人 益吉 的兒子 以拉 ， 亞拿突 人 亞比以謝 ，
28Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite;
