1以色列 的長子原是 呂便 ；因他污穢了父親的床，他長子的名分就歸了 約瑟 。只是按家譜他不算長子。
1And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel — for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, yet not so that he was to be reckoned in the genealogy as first-born.
2猶大 勝過一切弟兄，君王也是從他而出；長子的名分卻歸 約瑟 。
2For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came he that is the prince; but the birthright was Joseph's —
3以色列 長子 呂便 的兒子是 哈諾 、 法路 、 希斯倫 、 迦米 。
3the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4約珥 的兒子是 示瑪雅 ； 示瑪雅 的兒子是 歌革 ； 歌革 的兒子是 示每 ；
4The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;
5示每 的兒子是 米迦 ； 米迦 的兒子是 利亞雅 ； 利亞雅 的兒子是 巴力 ；
5Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;
6巴力 的兒子是 備拉 。這 備拉 作 呂便 支派的首領，被 亞述 王 提革拉‧毗列色 擄去。
6Beerah his son, whom Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive; he was prince of the Reubenites.
7他的弟兄照着宗族，按着家譜作族長的是 耶利 、 撒迦利雅 、 比拉 。
7And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief Jeiel, and Zechariah,
8比拉 是 亞撒 的兒子； 亞撒 是 示瑪 的兒子； 示瑪 是 約珥 的兒子； 約珥 所住的地方是從 亞羅珥 直到 尼波 和 巴力‧免 ，
8and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon;
9又向東延到 幼發拉底河 這邊的曠野，因為他們在 基列 地牲畜增多。
9and eastward he dwelt even unto the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates; because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10掃羅 年間，他們與 夏甲 人爭戰， 夏甲 人倒在他們手下，他們就在 基列 東邊的全地，住在 夏甲 人的帳棚裏。
10And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
11迦得 的子孫在 呂便 對面，住在 巴珊 地，延到 撒迦 。
11And the sons of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salcah:
12他們中間有作族長的 約珥 ，有作副族長的 沙番 ，還有 雅乃 和住在 巴珊 的 沙法 。
12Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan;
13他們族弟兄是 米迦勒 、 米書蘭 、 示巴 、 約賴 、 雅干 、 細亞 、 希伯 ，共七人。
13and their brethren of their fathers' houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
14這都是 亞比孩 的兒子。 亞比孩 是 戶利 的兒子； 戶利 是 耶羅亞 的兒子； 耶羅亞 是 基列 的兒子； 基列 是 米迦勒 的兒子； 米迦勒 是 耶示篩 的兒子； 耶示篩 是 耶哈多 的兒子； 耶哈多 是 布斯 的兒子。
14These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jehishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15還有 古尼 的孫子、 押比疊 的兒子 亞希 。這都是作族長的。
15Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers' houses.
16他們住在 基列 與 巴珊 和 巴珊 的鄉村，並 沙崙 的郊野，直到四圍的交界。
16And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in the towns thereof, and in all the open lands of the plain, upon their borders.
17這些人在 猶大 王 約坦 並在 以色列 王 耶羅波安 年間，都載入家譜。
17All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18呂便 人、 迦得 人，和 瑪拿西 半支派的人，能拿盾牌和刀劍、拉弓射箭、出征善戰的勇士共有四萬四千七百六十名。
18The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, as many as were valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were forty and four thousand seven hundred and threescore, that were able to go forth to war.
19他們與 夏甲 人、 伊突 人、 拿非施 人、 挪答 人爭戰。
19And they made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
20他們得了 上帝的 幫助， 夏甲 人和跟隨 夏甲 的人都交在他們手中；因為他們在陣上呼求上帝，倚賴上帝，上帝就應允他們。
20And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them, because they put their trust in Him.
21他們擄掠了 夏甲 人的牲畜，有駱駝五萬，羊二十五萬，驢二千；又有人十萬。
21And they took away their cattle: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand; and of souls of men a hundred thousand.
22敵人被殺仆倒的甚多，因為這爭戰是出乎上帝。他們就住在敵人的地上，直到被擄的時候。
22For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.
23瑪拿西 半支派的人住在那地。從 巴珊 延到 巴力‧黑們 、 示尼珥 與 黑門山 。
23And the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon, where they increased.
24他們的族長是 以弗 、 以示 、 以列 、 亞斯列 、 耶利米 、 何達威雅 、 雅疊 ，都是大能的勇士，是有名的人，也是作族長的。
24And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.
25他們得罪了他們列祖的上帝，隨從那地之民的神行邪淫；這民就是上帝在他們面前所除滅的。
25And they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26故此， 以色列 的上帝激動 亞述 王 普勒 和 亞述 王 提革拉‧毗列色 的心，他們就把 呂便 人、 迦得 人、 瑪拿西 半支派的人擄到 哈臘 、 哈博 、 哈拉 與 歌散河 邊，直到今日還在那裏。
26And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.
