1以色列 人出 埃及 地後，第二年二月初一日，耶和華在 西奈 的曠野、會幕中曉諭 摩西 說：
1AND THE LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying:
2「你要按 以色列 全會眾的家室、宗族、人名的數目計算所有的男丁。
2'Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, every male, by their polls;
3凡 以色列 中，從二十歲以外，能出去打仗的，你和 亞倫 要照他們的軍隊數點。
3from twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: ye shall number them by their hosts, even thou and Aaron.
4每支派中必有一人作本支派的族長，幫助你們。
4And with you there shall be a man of every tribe, every one head of his fathers' house.
5他們的名字：屬 呂便 的，有 示丟珥 的兒子 以利蓿 ；
5And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6屬 西緬 的，有 蘇利沙代 的兒子 示路蔑 ；
6Of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7屬 猶大 的，有 亞米拿達 的兒子 拿順 ；
7Of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8屬 以薩迦 的，有 蘇押 的兒子 拿坦業 ；
8Of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar.
9屬 西布倫 的，有 希倫 的兒子 以利押 ；
9Of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon.
10約瑟 子孫、屬 以法蓮 的，有 亞米忽 的兒子 以利沙瑪 ；屬 瑪拿西 的，有 比大蓿 的兒子 迦瑪列 ；
10Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11屬 便雅憫 的，有 基多尼 的兒子 亞比但 ；
11Of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12屬 但 的，有 亞米沙代 的兒子 亞希以謝 ；
12Of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13屬 亞設 的，有 俄蘭 的兒子 帕結 ；
13Of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran.
14屬 迦得 的，有 丟珥 的兒子 以利雅薩 ；
14Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15屬 拿弗他利 的，有 以南 的兒子 亞希拉 。
15Of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.'
16這都是從會中選召的，各作本支派的首領，都是 以色列 軍中的統領。」
16These were the elect of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.
17於是， 摩西 、 亞倫 帶着這些按名指定的人，
17And Moses and Aaron took these men that are pointed out by name.
18當二月初一日招聚全會眾。會眾就照他們的家室、宗族、人名的數目，從二十歲以外的，都述說自己的家譜。
18And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19耶和華怎樣吩咐 摩西 ，他就怎樣在 西奈 的曠野數點他們。
19As the LORD commanded Moses, so did he number them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20以色列 的長子， 呂便 子孫的後代，照着家室、宗族、人名的數目，從二十歲以外，凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁，共有四萬六千五百名。
20And the children of Reuben, Israel's first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

22西緬 子孫的後代，照着家室、宗族、人名的數目，從二十歲以外，凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁，共有五萬九千三百名。
22Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, those that were numbered thereof, according to the number of names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

24迦得 子孫的後代，照着家室、宗族、人名的數目，從二十歲以外，凡能出去打仗、被數的，共有四萬五千六百五十名。
24Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

44These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; they were each one for his fathers' house.
45這樣，凡 以色列 人中被數的，照着宗族，從二十歲以外，能出去打仗、被數的，共有六十萬零三千五百五十名。
45And all those that were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers' houses, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;

47利未 人卻沒有按着支派數在其中，
47But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48因為耶和華曉諭 摩西 說：
48And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
49「惟獨 利未 支派你不可數點，也不可在 以色列 人中計算他們的總數。
49'Howbeit the tribe of Levi thou shalt not number, neither shalt thou take the sum of them among the children of Israel;
50只要派 利未 人管法 櫃 的帳幕和其中的器具，並屬乎帳幕的；他們要抬帳幕和其中的器具，並要辦理帳幕的事，在帳幕的四圍安營。
50but appoint thou the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all the furniture thereof, and over all that belongeth to it; they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51帳幕將往前行的時候， 利未 人要拆卸；將支搭的時候， 利未 人要豎起。近前來的外人必被治死。
51And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up; and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.
52以色列 人支搭帳棚，要照他們的軍隊，各歸本營，各歸本纛。
52And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man with his own camp, and every man with his own standard, according to their hosts.
53但 利未 人要在法 櫃 帳幕的四圍安營，免得忿怒臨到 以色列 會眾； 利未 人並要謹守法 櫃 的帳幕。」
53But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.'
54以色列 人就這樣行。凡耶和華所吩咐 摩西 的，他們就照樣行了。
54Thus did the children of Israel; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
