1當 猶大 王 烏西雅 ， 以色列 王 約阿施 的兒子 耶羅波安 在位的時候，大地震前二年， 提哥亞 牧人中的 阿摩司 得默示論 以色列 。
1THE WORDS of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2他說：耶和華必從 錫安 吼叫， 從 耶路撒冷 發聲； 牧人的草場要悲哀； 迦密 的山頂要枯乾。
2And he said: The LORD roareth from Zion, and uttereth His voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3耶和華如此說： 大馬士革 三番四次地犯罪， 我必不免去她的刑罰； 因為她以打糧食的鐵器打過 基列 。
3For thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of Damascus, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because they have threshed Gilead with sledges of iron.
4我卻要降火在 哈薛 的家中， 燒滅 便‧哈達 的宮殿。
4So will I send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad;
5我必折斷 大馬士革 的門閂， 剪除 亞文 平原的居民和 伯‧伊甸 掌權的。 亞蘭 人必被擄到 吉珥 。 這是耶和華說的。
5And I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from Bikath-Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-eden; and the people of Aram shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
6耶和華如此說： 迦薩 三番四次地犯罪， 我必不免去她的刑罰； 因為她擄掠眾民交給 以東 。
6Thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of Gaza, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because they carried away captive a whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom.
7我卻要降火在 迦薩 的城內， 燒滅其中的宮殿。
7So will I send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the palaces thereof;
8我必剪除 亞實突 的居民和 亞實基倫 掌權的， 也必反手攻擊 以革倫 。 非利士 人所餘剩的必都滅亡。 這是主耶和華說的。
8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon; and I will turn My hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
9耶和華如此說： 泰爾 三番四次地犯罪， 我必不免去她的刑罰； 因為她將眾民交給 以東 ， 並不記念弟兄的盟約。
9Thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of Tyre, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because they delivered up a whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant.
10我卻要降火在 泰爾 的城內， 燒滅其中的宮殿。
10So will I send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
11耶和華如此說： 以東 三番四次地犯罪， 我必不免去她的刑罰； 因為她拿刀追趕兄弟，毫無憐憫， 發怒撕裂，永懷忿怒。
11Thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever.
12我卻要降火在 提幔 ， 燒滅 波斯拉 的宮殿。
12So will I send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13耶和華如此說： 亞捫 人三番四次地犯罪， 我必不免去他們的刑罰； 因為他們剖開 基列 的孕婦， 擴張自己的境界。
13Thus saith the LORD: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yea, for four, I will not reverse it: because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.
14我卻要在爭戰吶喊的日子， 旋風狂暴的時候， 點火在 拉巴 的城內， 燒滅其中的宮殿。
14So will I kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;
15他們的王和首領必一同被擄去。 這是耶和華說的。
15And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
