1住南地的 迦南 人 亞拉得 王，聽說 以色列 人從 亞他林 路來，就和 以色列 人爭戰，擄了他們幾個人。
1And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelt in the South, heard tell that Israel came by the way of Atharim; and he fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.
2以色列 人向耶和華發願說：「你若將這民交付我手，我就把他們的城邑盡行毀滅。」
2And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said: 'If Thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.'
3耶和華應允了 以色列 人，把 迦南 人交付他們，他們就把 迦南 人和 迦南 人的城邑盡行毀滅。那地方的名便叫 何珥瑪 。
3And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities; and the name of the place was called Hormah.
4他們從 何珥山 起行，往 紅海 那條路走，要繞過 以東 地。百姓因這路難行，心中甚是煩躁，
4And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became impatient because of the way.
5就怨讟上帝和 摩西 說：「你們為甚麼把我們從 埃及 領出來、使我們死在曠野呢？這裏沒有糧，沒有水，我們的心厭惡這淡薄的食物。」
5And the people spoke against God, and against Moses: 'Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.'
6於是耶和華使火蛇進入百姓中間，蛇就咬他們。 以色列 人中死了許多。
6And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
7百姓到 摩西 那裏，說：「我們怨讟耶和華和你，有罪了。求你禱告耶和華，叫這些蛇離開我們。」於是 摩西 為百姓禱告。
7And the people came to Moses, and said: 'We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that He take away the serpents from us.' And Moses prayed for the people.
8耶和華對 摩西 說：「你製造一條火蛇，掛在杆子上；凡被咬的，一望這蛇，就必得活。」
8And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole; and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he seeth it, shall live.'
9摩西 便製造一條銅蛇，掛在杆子上；凡被蛇咬的，一望這銅蛇就活了。
9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it upon the pole; and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked unto the serpent of brass, he lived.
10以色列 人起行，安營在 阿伯 。
10And the children of Israel journeyed, and pitched in Oboth.
11又從 阿伯 起行，安營在 以耶‧亞巴琳 ，與 摩押 相對的曠野，向日出之地。
11And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ije-abarim, in the wilderness which is in front of Moab, toward the sun-rising.
12從那裏起行，安營在 撒烈谷 。
12From thence they journeyed, and pitched in the valley of Zered.
13從那裏起行，安營在 亞嫩河 那邊。這 亞嫩河 是在曠野，從 亞摩利 的境界流出來的；原來 亞嫩河 是 摩押 的邊界，在 摩押 和 亞摩利 人搭界的地方。
13From thence they journeyed, and pitched on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness, that cometh out of the border of the Amorites. — For Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites;
14所以耶和華的戰記上說：「 蘇法 的 哇哈伯 與 亞嫩河 的谷，
14wherefore it is said in the book of the Wars of the LORD: Vaheb in Suphah, and the valleys of Arnon,
15並向 亞珥 城眾谷的下坡，是靠近 摩押 的境界。」
15And the slope of the valleys that inclineth toward the seat of Ar, and leaneth upon the border of Moab. —
16以色列 人從那裏 起行 ，到了 比珥 。從前耶和華吩咐 摩西 說：「招聚百姓，我好給他們水喝」，說的就是這井。
16And from thence to Beer; that is the well whereof the LORD said unto Moses: 'Gather the people together, and I will give them water.'
17當時， 以色列 人唱歌說： 井啊，湧上水來！ 你們要向這井歌唱。
17Then sang Israel this song: Spring up, O well — sing ye unto it —
18這井是首領和民中的尊貴人 用圭用杖所挖所掘的。 以色列 人從曠野往 瑪他拿 去，
18The well, which the princes digged, which the nobles of the people delved, with the sceptre, and with their staves. And from the wilderness to Mattanah;
19從 瑪他拿 到 拿哈列 ，從 拿哈列 到 巴末 ，
19and from Mattanah to Nahaliel; and from Nahaliel to Bamoth;
20從 巴末 到 摩押 地的谷，又到那下望曠野之 毗斯迦 的山頂。
20and from Bamoth to the valley that is in the field of Moab, by the top of Pisgah, which looketh down upon the desert.
21以色列 人差遣使者去見 亞摩利 人的王 西宏 ，說：
21And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying:
22「求你容我們從你的地經過；我們不偏入田間和葡萄園，也不喝井裏的水，只走大道，直到過了你的境界。」
22'Let me pass through thy land; we will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard; we will not drink of the water of the wells; we will go by the king's highway, until we have passed thy border.'
23西宏 不容 以色列 人從他的境界經過，就招聚他的眾民出到曠野，要攻擊 以色列 人，到了 雅雜 與 以色列 人爭戰。
23And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness, and came to Jahaz; and he fought against Israel.
24以色列 人用刀殺了他，得了他的地，從 亞嫩河 到 雅博河 ，直到 亞捫 人的 境界 ，因為 亞捫 人的境界多有堅壘。
24And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon unto the Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon; for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
25以色列 人奪取這一切的城邑，也住 亞摩利 人的城邑，就是 希實本 與 希實本 的一切鄉村。
25And Israel took all these cities; and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the towns thereof.
26這 希實本 是 亞摩利 王 西宏 的 京 城； 西宏 曾與 摩押 的先王爭戰，從他手中奪取了全地，直到 亞嫩河 。
26For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto the Arnon.
27所以那些作詩歌的說： 你們來到 希實本 ； 願 西宏 的城被修造，被建立。
27Wherefore they that speak in parables say: Come ye to Heshbon! let the city of Sihon be built and established!
28因為有火從 希實本 發出， 有火焰出於 西宏 的城， 燒盡 摩押 的 亞珥 和 亞嫩河 邱壇的祭司。
28For a fire is gone out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon; it hath devoured Ar of Moab, the lords of the high places of Arnon.
29摩押 啊，你有禍了！ 基抹 的民哪，你們滅亡了！ 基抹 的男子逃奔， 女子被擄，交付 亞摩利 的王 西宏 。
29Woe to thee, Moab! thou art undone, O people of Chemosh; he hath given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, unto Sihon king of the Amorites.
30我們射了他們； 希實本 直到 底本 盡皆毀滅。 我們使地變成荒場，直到 挪法 ； 這 挪法 直 延 到 米底巴 。
30We have shot at them — Heshbon is perished — even unto Dibon, and we have laid waste even unto Nophah, which reacheth unto Medeba.
31這樣， 以色列 人就住在 亞摩利 人之地。
31Thus Israel dwelt in the land of the Amorites.
32摩西 打發人去窺探 雅謝 ， 以色列 人就佔了 雅謝 的鎮市，趕出那裏的 亞摩利 人。
32And Moses sent to spy out Jazer, and they took the towns thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there.
33以色列 人轉回，向 巴珊 去。 巴珊 王 噩 和他的眾民都出來，在 以得來 與他們交戰。
33And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan; and Og the king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
34耶和華對 摩西 說：「不要怕他！因我已將他和他的眾民，並他的地，都交在你手中；你要待他像從前待住 希實本 的 亞摩利 王 西宏 一般。」
34And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Fear him not; for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.'
35於是他們殺了他和他的眾子，並他的眾民，沒有留下一個，就得了他的地。
35So they smote him, and his sons, and all his people, until there was none left him remaining; and they possessed his land.
