1ในวันนั้น พระเยซูออกจากบ้านไปนั่งริมทะเล
1The same day Jesus going out of the house, sat by the sea side.
2ฝูงชนจำนวนมากมารวมกันรอบพระองค์ จนพระองค์ลงเรือและนั่งลง ส่วนฝูงชนทั้งหมดยืนอยู่บนชายฝั่ง
2And great multitudes were gathered unto him, so that he went up into a boat and sat: and all the multitude stood on the shore.
3พระองค์กล่าวหลายเรื่องแก่พวกเขาเป็นอุปมา โดยกล่าวว่า “มีชาวไร่คนหนึ่งออกไปหว่านเมล็ด
3And he spoke to them many things in parables, saying: Behold the sower went forth to sow.
4ขณะที่เขาหว่าน เมล็ดบางส่วนตกข้างทาง แล้วนกก็มากินจนหมด
4And whilst he soweth some fell by the way side, and the birds of the air came and ate them up.
5เมล็ดบางส่วนตกบนพื้นหิน ซึ่งมีดินไม่มาก และงอกขึ้นทันที เพราะดินไม่ลึก
5And other some fell upon stony ground, where they had not much earth: and they sprung up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth.
6เมื่อดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้น ต้นเหล่านั้นก็ถูกแดดเผา และเพราะไม่มีราก จึงเหี่ยวแห้ง
6And when the sun was up they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away.
7เมล็ดบางส่วนตกท่ามกลางต้นหนาม ต้นหนามก็โตขึ้นมารัดมันไว้
7And others fell among thorns: and the thorns grew up and choked them.
8เมล็ดบางส่วนตกในดินดี และเกิดผล บ้างหนึ่งร้อยเท่า บ้างหกสิบเท่า และบ้างสามสิบเท่า
8And others fell upon good ground: and they brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, and some thirtyfold.
9ใครมีหูจะฟัง ก็จงฟัง”
9He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10สาวกมาหาพระองค์ และถามว่า “ทำไมท่านจึงพูดกับพวกเขาเป็นอุปมา?”
10And his disciples came and said to him: Why speakest thou to them in parables?
11พระองค์ตอบพวกเขาว่า “พวกคุณได้รับความรู้เรื่องความลับของอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ แต่พวกเขาไม่ได้รับ
11Who answered and said to them: Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given.
12เพราะผู้ที่มีอยู่แล้ว จะได้รับเพิ่มอีก และจะมีอย่างอุดมสมบูรณ์ แต่ผู้ที่ไม่มี แม้แต่สิ่งที่เขามีอยู่ก็จะถูกเอาไปจากเขา
12For he that hath, to him shall be given, and he shall abound: but he that hath not, from him shall be taken away that also which he hath.
13เพราะเหตุนี้ เราจึงพูดกับพวกเขาเป็นอุปมา เพราะเมื่อมอง พวกเขาก็ไม่เห็น เมื่อฟัง ก็ไม่ได้ยิน และไม่เข้าใจ
13Therefore do I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14คำพยากรณ์ของอิสยาห์จึงสำเร็จในตัวพวกเขา ซึ่งกล่าวว่า ‘พวกเจ้าจะฟังแล้วฟังอีก แต่จะไม่เข้าใจเลย พวกเจ้าจะมองแล้วมองอีก แต่จะไม่รับรู้เลย
14And the prophecy of Isaias is fulfilled in them, who saith: By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.
15เพราะใจของประชาชนนี้ด้านชา หูของพวกเขาก็ได้ยินไม่ชัด และพวกเขาปิดตาของตน มิฉะนั้น พวกเขาอาจมองเห็นด้วยตา ได้ยินด้วยหู เข้าใจด้วยใจ และหันกลับ แล้วเราจะรักษาพวกเขา’
15For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
16“แต่ตาของพวกคุณย่อมเป็นสุข เพราะมองเห็น และหูของพวกคุณ เพราะได้ยิน
16But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.
17เราบอกความจริงแก่พวกคุณว่า ผู้เผยพระวจนะและคนชอบธรรมจำนวนมากปรารถนาจะเห็นสิ่งที่พวกคุณเห็น แต่ไม่ได้เห็น และปรารถนาจะได้ยินสิ่งที่พวกคุณได้ยิน แต่ไม่ได้ยิน
17For, amen, I say to you, many prophets and just men have desired to see the things that you see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.
18“เพราะฉะนั้น จงฟังอุปมาเรื่องชาวไร่
18Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.
19เมื่อใครได้ยินพระวจนะเรื่องอาณาจักร แต่ไม่เข้าใจ มารร้ายก็มาฉกเอาสิ่งที่หว่านไว้ในใจของเขาไป นี่คือสิ่งที่หว่านไว้ข้างทาง
19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side.
20สิ่งที่หว่านบนพื้นหิน คือผู้ที่ได้ยินพระวจนะ และรับไว้ด้วยความยินดีทันที
20And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy.
21แต่เขาไม่มีรากในตัวเอง จึงอยู่ได้เพียงชั่วคราว เมื่อเกิดการกดขี่หรือการข่มเหงเพราะพระวจนะ เขาก็สะดุดทันที
21Yet hath he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there ariseth tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized.
22สิ่งที่หว่านท่ามกลางต้นหนาม คือผู้ที่ได้ยินพระวจนะ แต่ความกังวลของยุคนี้และความหลอกลวงของทรัพย์สมบัติรัดพระวจนะไว้ จนเขาไม่เกิดผล
22And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that heareth the word, and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choketh up the word, and he becometh fruitless.
23สิ่งที่หว่านในดินดี คือผู้ที่ได้ยินพระวจนะและเข้าใจ ผู้นั้นย่อมเกิดผลจริง ๆ บ้างหนึ่งร้อยเท่า บ้างหกสิบเท่า และบ้างสามสิบเท่า”
23But he that received the seed upon good ground, is he that heareth the word, and understandeth, and beareth fruit, and yieldeth the one an hundredfold, and another sixty, and another thirty.
24พระองค์ยกอุปมาอีกเรื่องหนึ่งให้พวกเขา โดยกล่าวว่า “อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนชายคนหนึ่งที่หว่านเมล็ดพันธุ์ดีในนาของตน
24Another parable he proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seeds in his field.
25แต่ขณะที่ผู้คนหลับอยู่ ศัตรูของเขามาหว่านหญ้าดาร์เนล ปะปนในข้าวสาลี แล้วจากไป
25But while men were asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle among the wheat and went his way.
26เมื่อต้นอ่อนงอกขึ้นและออกรวง หญ้าดาร์เนลก็ปรากฏให้เห็นด้วย
26And when the blade was sprung up, and had brought forth fruit, then appeared also the cockle.
27คนรับใช้ของเจ้าของบ้านมาหาและพูดว่า ‘ท่านหว่านเมล็ดพันธุ์ดีในนาของท่านไม่ใช่หรือ? แล้วหญ้าดาร์เนลมาจากไหน?’
27And the servants of the goodman of the house coming said to him: Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? whence then hath it cockle?
28“เขาตอบว่า ‘ศัตรูเป็นคนทำ’ “คนรับใช้ถามเขาว่า ‘ท่านต้องการให้พวกเราไปถอนมันขึ้นมาไหม?’
28And he said to them: An enemy hath done this. And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and gather it up?
29“แต่เขาตอบว่า ‘อย่าเลย เกรงว่าเมื่อพวกเจ้าถอนหญ้าดาร์เนล จะถอนข้าวสาลีติดขึ้นมาด้วย
29And he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also together with it.
30ปล่อยให้ทั้งสองอย่างเติบโตไปด้วยกันจนถึงฤดูเก็บเกี่ยว เมื่อถึงเวลาเก็บเกี่ยว เราจะบอกคนเกี่ยวว่า “จงรวบรวมหญ้าดาร์เนลก่อน มัดเป็นฟ่อนเพื่อเผา ส่วนข้าวสาลีให้เก็บเข้ายุ้งของเรา”’”
30Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn.
31พระองค์ยกอุปมาอีกเรื่องหนึ่งให้พวกเขา โดยกล่าวว่า “อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนเมล็ดมัสตาร์ด ซึ่งชายคนหนึ่งเอาไปหว่านในนาของตน
31Another parable he proposed unto them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.
32เมล็ดนั้นเล็กกว่าเมล็ดทั้งปวงจริง ๆ แต่เมื่อโตขึ้น ก็ใหญ่กว่าพืชผักทั้งปวง และกลายเป็นต้นไม้ จนนกบนฟ้ามาอาศัยอยู่ตามกิ่งของมัน”
32Which is the least indeed of all seeds; but when it is grown up, it is greater than all herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come, and dwell in the branches thereof.
33พระองค์กล่าวอุปมาอีกเรื่องหนึ่งแก่พวกเขา “อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนเชื้อแป้ง ซึ่งหญิงคนหนึ่งเอาไปซ่อนไว้ในแป้งสามหน่วยตวง จนแป้งทั้งหมดฟูขึ้น”
33Another parable he spoke to them: The kingdom of heaven is like to leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until the whole was leavened.
34พระเยซูกล่าวสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมดแก่ฝูงชนเป็นอุปมา และพระองค์ไม่ได้กล่าวอะไรแก่พวกเขาโดยไม่ใช้อุปมา
34All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the multitudes: and without parables he did not speak to them.
35เพื่อให้สิ่งที่กล่าวผ่านผู้เผยพระวจนะสำเร็จ ซึ่งว่า “เราจะเปิดปากกล่าวเป็นอุปมา เราจะกล่าวสิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ตั้งแต่การวางรากฐานของโลก”
35That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.
36แล้วพระเยซูให้ฝูงชนแยกย้ายไป และเข้าไปในบ้าน สาวกมาหาพระองค์และกล่าวว่า “โปรดอธิบายอุปมาเรื่องหญ้าดาร์เนลในนาให้พวกเราฟัง”
36Then having sent away the multitudes, he came into the house, and his disciples came to him, saying: Expound to us the parable of the cockle of the field.
37พระองค์ตอบว่า “ผู้ที่หว่านเมล็ดพันธุ์ดี คือบุตรมนุษย์
37Who made answer and said to them: He that soweth the good seed, is the Son of man.
38นาคือโลก เมล็ดพันธุ์ดีคือลูกของอาณาจักร ส่วนหญ้าดาร์เนลคือลูกของมารร้าย
38And the field, is the world. And the good seed are the children of the kingdom. And the cockle, are the children of the wicked one.
39ศัตรูที่หว่านมันคือมาร การเก็บเกี่ยวคือวาระสิ้นยุค และคนเกี่ยวคือเหล่าทูตสวรรค์
39And the enemy that sowed them, is the devil. But the harvest is the end of the world. And the reapers are the angels.
40เพราะฉะนั้น เช่นเดียวกับที่หญ้าดาร์เนลถูกรวบรวมและเผาด้วยไฟ เมื่อถึงวาระสิ้นยุคนี้ ก็จะเป็นเช่นนั้น
40Even as cockle therefore is gathered up, and burnt with fire: so shall it be at the end of the world.
41บุตรมนุษย์จะส่งเหล่าทูตสวรรค์ของพระองค์ออกไป และพวกเขาจะรวบรวมทุกสิ่งที่ทำให้สะดุด และคนที่ทำความชั่วออกจากอาณาจักรของพระองค์
41The Son of man shall send his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all scandals, and them that work iniquity.
42แล้วโยนคนเหล่านั้นลงในเตาไฟ ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้และขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน
42And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
43เมื่อนั้น คนชอบธรรมจะส่องแสงเหมือนดวงอาทิตย์ในอาณาจักรของพระบิดาของพวกเขา ใครมีหูจะฟัง ก็จงฟัง
43Then shall the just shine as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
44“อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนขุมทรัพย์ที่ซ่อนอยู่ในนา ชายคนหนึ่งพบเข้าแล้วซ่อนไว้อีก ด้วยความยินดี เขาจึงไปขายทุกสิ่งที่มี และซื้อนาผืนนั้น
44The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45“อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนพ่อค้าคนหนึ่งที่เสาะหาไข่มุกเม็ดงาม
45Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking good pearls.
46เมื่อพบไข่มุกล้ำค่าเม็ดหนึ่ง เขาก็ไปขายทุกสิ่งที่มี และซื้อไข่มุกนั้น
46Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went his way, and sold all that he had, and bought it.
47“อีกประการหนึ่ง อาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์เปรียบเหมือนอวนกวาดที่ทอดลงในทะเล และจับปลาได้ทุกชนิด
47Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a net cast into the sea, and gathering together of all kind of fishes.
48เมื่ออวนเต็ม ชาวประมงก็ลากขึ้นมาบนชายฝั่ง แล้วนั่งลง คัดปลาดีใส่ภาชนะ ส่วนปลาไม่ดีก็โยนทิ้ง
48Which, when it was filled, they drew out, and sitting by the shore, they chose out the good into vessels, but the bad they cast forth.
49เมื่อถึงวาระสิ้นโลก ก็จะเป็นเช่นนั้น เหล่าทูตสวรรค์จะมาแยกคนชั่วออกจากคนชอบธรรม
49So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall go out, and shall separate the wicked from among the just.
50แล้วโยนคนชั่วลงในเตาไฟ ที่นั่นจะมีการร้องไห้และขบเขี้ยวเคี้ยวฟัน”
50And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51พระเยซูถามพวกเขาว่า “พวกคุณเข้าใจสิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมดแล้วหรือ?” พวกเขาตอบว่า “เข้าใจแล้ว องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า”
51Have ye understood all these things? They say to him: Yes.
52พระองค์กล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “เพราะฉะนั้น อาลักษณ์ทุกคนที่ได้เป็นสาวกในอาณาจักรแห่งสวรรค์ ก็เปรียบเหมือนเจ้าของบ้านคนหนึ่งที่นำของใหม่และของเก่าออกมาจากคลังของตน”
52He said unto them: Therefore every scribe instructed in the kingdom of heaven, is like to a man that is a householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure new things and old.
53เมื่อพระเยซูกล่าวอุปมาเหล่านี้จบ พระองค์ก็จากที่นั่นไป
53And it came to pass: when Jesus had finished these parables, he passed from thence.
54เมื่อมาถึงถิ่นบ้านเกิดของพระองค์ พระองค์สอนพวกเขาในธรรมศาลา จนพวกเขาประหลาดใจและพูดว่า “คนนี้ได้ปัญญาและการอัศจรรย์อันยิ่งใหญ่เหล่านี้มาจากไหน?
54And coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogues, so that they wondered and said: How came this man by this wisdom and miracles?
55คนนี้ไม่ใช่ลูกของช่างไม้หรือ? มารดาของเขาชื่อมารีย์ไม่ใช่หรือ? และพี่น้องชายของเขาคือยากอบ โยเสส ซีโมน และยูดาส ไม่ใช่หรือ?
55Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Jude:
56พี่น้องหญิงของเขาทุกคนก็อยู่กับพวกเราไม่ใช่หรือ? แล้วคนนี้ได้สิ่งเหล่านี้ทั้งหมดมาจากไหน?”
56And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence therefore hath he all these things?
57พวกเขาจึงไม่ยอมรับพระองค์ แต่พระเยซูกล่าวกับพวกเขาว่า “ผู้เผยพระวจนะย่อมได้รับเกียรติ เว้นแต่ในถิ่นของตนและในบ้านของตน”
57And they were scandalized in his regard. But Jesus said to them: A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58พระองค์ไม่ได้ทำการอัศจรรย์อันยิ่งใหญ่ที่นั่นมากนัก เพราะความไม่เชื่อของพวกเขา
58And he wrought not many miracles there, because of their unbelief.
