1ในปีที่สิบเอ็ด วันที่หนึ่งของเดือน พระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์มาถึงข้าพเจ้าว่า
1And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2“มนุษย์เอ๋ย เพราะไทระพูดถึงเยรูซาเล็มว่า ‘สะใจ! ประตูสู่ชนชาติต่าง ๆ พังแล้ว การค้าของนางจะหันมาหาเรา เราจะมั่งคั่งขึ้นเพราะนางร้างเปล่า’
2'Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem: Aha, she is broken that was the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be filled with her that is laid waste;
3เพราะฉะนั้น พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ‘ไทระเอ๋ย เราเป็นศัตรูกับเจ้า เราจะนำประชาชาติมากมายขึ้นมาต่อสู้เจ้า เหมือนทะเลซัดคลื่นขึ้นมา
3Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up.
4พวกเขาจะทำลายกำแพงไทระและพังหอคอย เราจะกวาดแม้แต่ดินออกจากเมืองนั้น จนเหลือเพียงหินเปลือย
4And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers; I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.
5นางจะกลายเป็นที่ตากอวนกลางทะเล เพราะเราได้พูดไว้แล้ว’ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ‘นางจะเป็นของปล้นแก่ประชาชาติ
5She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD; and she shall become a spoil to the nations.
6เมืองบริวารของนางบนแผ่นดินจะถูกฆ่าด้วยดาบ แล้วพวกเขาจะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์’
6And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7“เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ‘เราจะนำนาบูคัดเนสซาร์ กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ผู้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนือกษัตริย์ทั้งหลาย มาจากทิศเหนือต่อสู้ไทระ พร้อมม้า รถศึก ทหารม้า และกองทัพประชาชนมากมาย
7For thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people.
8เขาจะฆ่าชาวเมืองบริวารของเจ้าบนแผ่นดินด้วยดาบ จะสร้างป้อมล้อม ก่อเชิงเทิน และยกโล่เข้าประชิดเจ้า
8He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and set up bucklers against thee.
9เขาจะตั้งเครื่องกระทุ้งกำแพงของเจ้า และใช้ขวานพังหอคอย
9And he shall set his battering engines against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers.
10ฝุ่นจากม้าจำนวนมากจะคลุมเจ้า กำแพงจะสั่นด้วยเสียงทหารม้า เกวียนลำเลียง และรถศึก เมื่อเขาเข้าประตูของเจ้าเหมือนคนบุกเข้าเมืองที่กำแพงแตก
10By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee; at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, thy walls shall shake, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.
11กีบม้าของเขาจะเหยียบย่ำถนนทุกสาย เขาจะฆ่าประชาชนของเจ้าด้วยดาบ และเสาหลักแห่งกำลังของเจ้าจะล้มลงกับพื้น
11With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword, and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground.
12พวกเขาจะปล้นทรัพย์สมบัติและสินค้าของเจ้า พังกำแพงและทำลายบ้านงดงาม แล้วโยนก้อนหิน ไม้ และดินของเจ้าลงกลางน้ำ
12And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy the houses of thy delight; and thy stones and thy timber and thy dust shall they lay in the midst of the waters.
13เราจะทำให้เสียงเพลงของเจ้าหยุดลง และจะไม่ได้ยินเสียงพิณของเจ้าอีก
13And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
14เราจะทำให้เจ้าเป็นหินเปลือย เป็นที่ตากอวน และจะไม่มีใครสร้างเจ้าขึ้นใหม่ เพราะเรา พระยาห์เวห์ ได้พูดไว้แล้ว’ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้
14And I will make thee a bare rock; thou shalt be a place for the spreading of nets, thou shalt be built no more; for I the LORD have spoken, saith the Lord GOD.
15“พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสแก่ไทระว่า ‘เมื่อเจ้าถูกโค่นล้ม เสียงผู้บาดเจ็บคร่ำครวญและเสียงการสังหารภายในเจ้า จะไม่ทำให้หมู่เกาะสั่นสะเทือนหรือ?
15Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyre: Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?
16แล้วผู้นำแห่งทะเลทั้งหมดจะลงจากบัลลังก์ ถอดเสื้อคลุมและเสื้อปักออก สวมความสั่นกลัวแทน พวกเขาจะนั่งบนพื้น ตัวสั่นไม่หยุด และตกตะลึงเพราะเจ้า
16Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and strip off their richly woven garments; they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be appalled at thee.
17พวกเขาจะเปล่งบทคร่ำครวญถึงเจ้าและกล่าวว่า “เจ้าถูกทำลายเสียแล้ว เมืองที่คนเดินเรือมาอาศัย เมืองเลื่องชื่อ ผู้เคยเข้มแข็งกลางทะเล ทั้งนางและชาวเมือง เคยทำให้ทุกคนรอบข้างหวาดกลัว!
17And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee: how art thou destroyed, that wast peopled from the seas, the renowned city, that wast strong in the sea, thou and thy inhabitants, that caused your terror to be on all that inhabit the earth!
18บัดนี้หมู่เกาะสั่นสะเทือนในวันที่เจ้าล้ม หมู่เกาะกลางทะเลตกตะลึงเมื่อเจ้าสูญสิ้น”
18Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be affrighted at thy going out.
19“เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ ‘เมื่อเราทำให้เจ้าเป็นเมืองร้างเหมือนเมืองไร้ผู้คน เมื่อเรานำห้วงลึกขึ้นมาท่วมเจ้าและน้ำมหาศาลคลุมเจ้า
19For thus saith the Lord GOD: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee;
20เราจะนำเจ้าลงไปอยู่กับคนที่ลงสู่หลุม กับคนสมัยโบราณ และให้เจ้าอาศัยในส่วนลึกของแผ่นดิน ในที่ร้างมาตั้งแต่โบราณร่วมกับคนที่ลงสู่หลุม เพื่อเจ้าจะไม่มีผู้คนอาศัย ส่วนเราจะให้ความรุ่งโรจน์อยู่ในแผ่นดินของคนเป็น
20then will I bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make thee to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, like the places that are desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living;
21เราจะทำให้เจ้าเป็นสิ่งน่าสะพรึง แล้วเจ้าจะไม่มีอยู่อีก ถึงคนจะค้นหา ก็จะไม่มีวันพบเจ้าอีก’ พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้”
21I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more; though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.'
