1เพราะฉะนั้น ข้าพเจ้ากำชับคุณต่อหน้าพระเจ้าและองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์ ผู้จะพิพากษาคนเป็นและคนตาย เมื่อพระองค์ปรากฏและอาณาจักรของพระองค์มาถึงว่า
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2จงประกาศถ้อยคำ จงพร้อมเสมอไม่ว่าเวลาจะเหมาะหรือไม่ จงชี้ความผิด ตำหนิ และหนุนใจ ด้วยความอดกลั้นอย่างเต็มที่และด้วยการสอน
2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3เพราะเวลาจะมาถึงเมื่อพวกเขาจะไม่ฟังคำสอนที่ถูกต้อง แต่เพราะคันหูอยากฟังสิ่งที่ถูกใจ พวกเขาจะรวบรวมครูไว้รอบตัวมากมายตามความปรารถนาของตน
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5แต่คุณ จงมีสติในทุกเรื่อง จงทนความทุกข์ยาก ทำงานของผู้ประกาศข่าวดี และทำงานรับใช้ของคุณให้สำเร็จครบถ้วน
5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6เพราะข้าพเจ้ากำลังถูกถวายอยู่แล้ว และเวลาที่ข้าพเจ้าจะจากไปก็มาถึงแล้ว
6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7ข้าพเจ้าได้สู้ศึกอันดี ได้วิ่งจนจบเส้นทาง และได้รักษาความเชื่อไว้แล้ว
7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8ตั้งแต่นี้ไป มีมงกุฎแห่งความชอบธรรมเก็บไว้สำหรับข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ผู้พิพากษาที่ชอบธรรม จะมอบให้ข้าพเจ้าในวันนั้น และไม่ใช่แก่ข้าพเจ้าเท่านั้น แต่แก่ทุกคนที่รักการปรากฏของพระองค์ด้วย
8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9จงพยายามมาหาข้าพเจ้าโดยเร็ว
9Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10เพราะเดมาสละทิ้งข้าพเจ้าไป เนื่องจากรักโลกปัจจุบันนี้ และไปเมืองเธสะโลนิกา เครสเซนส์ไปแคว้นกาลาเทีย และทิตัสไปแคว้นดัลมาเทีย
10For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11มีเพียงลูกาที่อยู่กับข้าพเจ้า จงพามาระโกมากับคุณ เพราะเขาเป็นประโยชน์ต่อข้าพเจ้าในงานรับใช้
11Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12ส่วนทีคิกัส ข้าพเจ้าส่งเขาไปเมืองเอเฟซัส
12And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13เมื่อคุณมา ขอนำเสื้อคลุมที่ข้าพเจ้าฝากไว้กับคาร์ปัสที่เมืองโตรอัสมาด้วย รวมทั้งหนังสือ โดยเฉพาะแผ่นหนังสำหรับเขียน
13The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee , and the books, but especially the parchments.
14อเล็กซานเดอร์ช่างทองแดงทำสิ่งชั่วร้ายต่อข้าพเจ้ามาก องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะตอบแทนเขาตามการกระทำของเขา
14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15คุณก็จงระวังเขาให้ดี เพราะเขาต่อต้านถ้อยคำของเราอย่างรุนแรง
15Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16ในการแก้ต่างครั้งแรกของข้าพเจ้า ไม่มีใครมายืนเคียงข้างข้าพเจ้า แต่ทุกคนละทิ้งข้าพเจ้า ขออย่าให้เรื่องนี้ถูกนับเป็นความผิดของพวกเขา
16At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17แต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ายืนอยู่เคียงข้างข้าพเจ้าและทำให้ข้าพเจ้าเข้มแข็ง เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะประกาศข่าวสารได้อย่างครบถ้วน และให้คนต่างชาติทุกคนได้ยิน แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็ได้รับการช่วยให้พ้นจากปากสิงโต
17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18และองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะช่วยข้าพเจ้าให้พ้นจากการกระทำชั่วร้ายทุกอย่าง และจะรักษาข้าพเจ้าไว้เพื่ออาณาจักรสวรรค์ของพระองค์ ขอพระสิริจงมีแด่พระองค์ตลอดไปเป็นนิตย์ อาเมน
18And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19ฝากคำทักทายถึงปริสคาและอาควิลา รวมทั้งครอบครัวของโอเนสิโฟรัส
19Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
20เอรัสทัสยังอยู่ที่เมืองโครินธ์ ส่วนโทรฟีมัส ข้าพเจ้าทิ้งเขาไว้ที่เมืองมิเลทัสเพราะป่วย
20Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
21จงพยายามมาก่อนฤดูหนาว ยูบูลัส ปูเดนส์ ลีนัส คลอเดีย และพี่น้องทุกคน ฝากคำทักทายถึงคุณ
21Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
22ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์อยู่กับวิญญาณของคุณ ขอพระคุณอยู่กับพวกคุณ อาเมน
22The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
