1Тако отиде Аврам из Мисира горе на југ, он и жена му и све што имаше, такође и Лот с њим.
1And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the South.
2А беше Аврам врло богат стоком, сребром и златом.
2And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
3И иђаше својим путевима од југа све до Ветиља, до места где му прво беше шатор, између Ветиља и Гаја,
3And he went on his journeys from the South even to Beth-el, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beth-el and Ai;
4до места, где пре беше начинио жртвеник; и онде призва Аврам име Господње.
4unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first; and Abram called there on the name of the LORD.
5А и Лот који иђаше с Аврамом имаше оваца и говеда и шатора.
5And Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
6И земља не могаше их носити заједно, јер благо њихово беше велико да не могоше живети заједно,
6And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together; for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
7и беше свађа међу пастирима Аврамове стоке и пастирима Лотове стоке. А у то време живеху Хананеји и Ферезеји у оној земљи.
7And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelt then in the land.
8Па Аврам рече Лоту: Немој да се свађамо ја и ти, ни моји пастири и твоји пастири; јер смо браћа.
8And Abram said unto Lot: 'Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we are brethren.
9Није ли ти отворена цела земља? Одели се од мене. Ако ћеш ти на лево, ја ћу на десно; ако ли ћеш ти на десно ја ћу на лево.
9Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me; if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou take the right hand, then I will go to the left.'
10Тада Лот подиже очи своје и сагледа сву равницу јорданску, како целу натапаше река, беше као врт Господњи, као земља мисирска, све до Загора, пре него Господ затре Содом и Гомор.
10And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest unto Zoar.
11И Лот изабра себи сву равницу јорданску, и отиде Лот на исток; и разделише се један од другог:
11So Lot chose him all the plain of the Jordan; and Lot journeyed east; and they separated themselves the one from the other.
12Аврам живљаше у земљи хананској, а Лот живљаше по градовима у оној равници премештајући своје шаторе до Содома.
12Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the Plain, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.
13А људи у Содому беху неваљали, и грешаху Господу веома.
13Now the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners against the LORD exceedingly.
14А Господ рече Авраму, пошто се Лот одели од њега: Подигни сада очи своје, па погледај с места где си на север и на југ и на исток и на запад.
14And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him: 'Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward;
15Јер сву земљу што видиш теби ћу дати и семену твом до века.
15for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
16И учинићу да семена твог буде као праха на земљи; ако ко узможе избројати прах на земљи, моћи ће избројати и семе твоје.
16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth; so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17Устани, и пролази ту земљу у дужину и у ширину; јер ћу је теби дати.
17Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for unto thee will I give it.'
18И Аврам диже шаторе, и дође и насели се у равници мамријској, која је код Хеврона, и онде начини жртвеник Господу.
18And Abram moved his tent, and came and dwelt by the terebinths of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
