1He that feareth the Lord will do good, and he that hath the knowledge of the law shall obtain her.
1Quem teme o Senhor fará isso, e quem possui a Lei alcançará a sabedoria.
2And as a mother shall she meet him, and receive him as a wife married of a virgin.
2Ela irá ao encontro dele como uma mãe e o receberá como uma esposa virgem.
3With the bread of understanding shall she feed him, and give him the water of wisdom to drink.
3Ela o alimentará com o pão do entendimento e lhe dará de beber da água da sabedoria.
4He shall be stayed upon her, and shall not be moved; and shall rely upon her, and shall not be confounded.
4Ele se apoiará nela e não será abalado; confiará nela e não ficará envergonhado.
5She shall exalt him above his neighbours, and in the midst of the congregation shall she open his mouth.
5Ela o exaltará acima de seus vizinhos e abrirá sua boca no meio da assembleia.
6He shall find joy and a crown of gladness, and she shall cause him to inherit an everlasting name.
6Ele herdará alegria, uma coroa de júbilo e um nome eterno.
7But foolish men shall not attain unto her, and sinners shall not see her.
7Os insensatos não a alcançarão, e os pecadores não a verão.
8For she is far from pride, and men that are liars cannot remember her.
8Ela está longe do orgulho, e os mentirosos não se lembrarão dela.
9Praise is not seemly in the mouth of a sinner, for it was not sent him of the Lord.
9O louvor não é apropriado na boca do pecador, pois não lhe foi enviado pelo Senhor.
10For praise shall be uttered in wisdom, and the Lord will prosper it.
10O louvor será proferido com sabedoria, e o Senhor o fará prosperar.
11Say not thou, It is through the Lord that I fell away: for thou oughtest not to do the things that he hateth.
11Não diga: “Foi por causa do Senhor que me desviei”, pois você não deve fazer as coisas que ele odeia.
12Say not thou, He hath caused me to err: for he hath no need of the sinful man.
12Não diga: “Foi ele quem me fez errar”, pois ele não precisa de um homem pecador.
13The Lord hateth all abomination; and they that fear God love it not.
13O Senhor odeia toda abominação, e os que o temem também não a amam.
14He himself made man from the beginning, and left him in the hand of his counsel;
14Foi ele mesmo quem criou o ser humano desde o princípio e o deixou nas mãos de seu próprio conselho.
15If thou wilt, to keep the commandments, and to perform acceptable faithfulness.
15Se você quiser, pode guardar os mandamentos, e ser fiel depende de sua escolha.
16He hath set fire and water before thee: stretch forth thy hand unto whether thou wilt.
16Ele colocou diante de você fogo e água; estenda a mão para aquilo que desejar.
17Before man is life and death; and whether him liketh shall be given him.
17Diante do ser humano estão a vida e a morte; aquilo que ele escolher lhe será dado.
18For the wisdom of the Lord is great, and he is mighty in power, and beholdeth all things:
18Pois grande é a sabedoria do Senhor. Ele é poderoso e vê todas as coisas.
19And his eyes are upon them that fear him, and he knoweth every work of man.
19Seus olhos estão sobre os que o temem, e ele conhece cada ação humana.
20He hath commanded no man to do wickedly, neither hath he given any man licence to sin.
20Ele não ordenou a ninguém que fosse ímpio nem deu a ninguém licença para pecar.
